Hi, all! Everyone's doing great! Was a pretty good Core week for me. My mini-goal is to get out of the 130's and be in the 120's by 10/10 - 3 pounds according to the WW scale. My home scale says I'm at 131.5, but will go for an "official" WI using the WW scale at my meeting. Even if I don't make my goal, I'll surely be there by the end of October, so I won't be disappointed. Wishing everyone a Core-filled day!

Happy October everyone! You certainly wouldn't know it by the weather this weekend. It was 84 degrees yesterday! My DS's Sunday afternoon soccer games have been really beautiful days. I know that will change and eventually we'll be sitting out there in the snow! I did put all of my shorts and tank tops away this weekend. Today it's cooler - rainy and in the 60s.
I had a good weekend food-wise although did not get much exercise in. I'm proud of myself for yesterday! We went out to dinner and got there late so someone had already ordered chips and queso dip and I didn't have any of it! Then we went to a cousin's house where she was having a dessert party and I didn't have any of it! A few things really looked worth trying but in the end I just had my coffee and walked away.
I'm looking to have a strong WI this week so it will count for my October Lifetime and employee WI for the month since we are heading to Disney and some other trips. I know I'll WI other times during the month but I want the number this week to be a good one.
Spinning today!
Hope everyone has a great day!
-Beth

Congrats Jane and Beth. Being on track is so gratifying. Me on the other hand... I'm good one week then the next I slide. I only wi every other week, but I seem to have the good weeks when I don't wi. Go figure. Planning a camping trip this weekend. Lots of walking I hope. We eat good and healthy, and I don't drink much so that's not much of a temptation. Looking forward to just getting away for awhile. Take care all, I'll check back in when I can Katie

Started in again yesterday...leave for the states November 13 and thought I would just not bother even trying till I return home then decided that was a rather silly and self defeating attitude so...back to what I believe is a healthier way of living and if the weight comes off, fine. If not, I will be healthier for eating better.

Hi All,
Welcome back Geha! So inspiring to see you making such a lovely choice for yourself to avoid a self defeatist attitude!
I'm back from 8 hectic and wonderful days in Ireland. Our group actually won the festival! But even if we had not done as well it would have been a great experience I think, for all!
I ate with abandon... it was rather hard to find lots of veggies in the pubs that we mainly frequented... lots of fried food, meat, butter, cream--- just delicious. And there was also the matter of the Guinness which gets brewed locally and really is unbelievably good! And to my great shock I lost 1/2 a pound this week!
But more importantly this morning, even after 24 hours of travel, i cooked oatmeal with blueberries and I am committing myself to getting back to my core habits. I've seen some of the pix of me from this trip and i look very happy... and very fat!
So, I'm going to add to my goals for this challenge to lose 5 pound by halloween.. that's one month... and I think i can do it!
Keep up the great work, everyone!

Jane - congrats on your loss!
Geha - welcome back to Kippy's!
Sulee - welcome back from your trip!
HIHO to everyone else!
My week is going okay so far! Last night I made chili - I think the best batch I've made so far probably because I didn't use a recipe! It was 99% FF ground turkey, a can of black beans, a can of kidney beans, a can of crushed tomatoes, onion, garlic and spices. It came out great! I am cooking for one the next 3 nights so I think it may be an opportunity to go through the freezer and see what leftover meals I have hidden there.
My plan is to go on the elliptical at the gym this afternoon - I burn almost 300 calories in 30 minutes and really work up a sweat! My spin class yesterday was tough. I've only been doing it once a week so that makes it hard to get going!
We are actually in the process of switching gyms. I really love where I'm going so I'm not too happy about it but DH is ready to start exercising and the location I'm at is not that convenient for him, plus our new location has a great outdoor pool, restaurant and lots of other features. So, it will be fine. The spin classes are not at great times for me but I know I can still work out on the machines. Hopefully I can still catch 1 spin class a week. It's more imortant to me that DH has the desire and motivation to start exercising now that he's 50+ pounds down, so I'm not going to complain!
Hope everyone has an awesome day!!

Jane - great loss!
Beth - Wow good for you for resisting the food you really didn't want! Your chili sounds delicious. It's that time of year again, I will begin making the soups and chilis to freeze, yum. Congrats to your DH, wow!
CL - You will reach your realistic goal.
Katie - Remember - HIHO! Have a wonderful time camping.
Sulee - Hi and congrats on your win in Ireland! Welcome back. I'm glad you enjoyed yourself and even found the time to e-mail us from across the pond!
Geha - Welcome back! Have a fun time on your visit here.
I'm doing OK ... I'm starting to "feel" a little different in the face and other places. So I hope WI tomorrow will be a happy one once again. Slow and steady ...
Have a great day!

For those inquiring minds who want to know, I had higher hopes for the spaghetti pizza than it actually turned out. I'm not sure if the pasta was supposed to harden and be like a crust. Mine stayed soft, especially will the sauce, cheese & veggies on top so it was basically a casserole. I put brocolli, plum tomatoes, black olives and mushrooms on it so the toppings were definitely tasty. I'm not sure I would make it again. I like a Core lasagna better because you have those layers of flavor.
Just came back from a sushi lunch with my cousins. It was good but not amazing. I've got to go count up my points for it.
Maybe I'll make a pizza on a pita bread for dinner - now that I'm talking about pizza!
Hope everyone has a great day!
-Beth

Happy Birthday, Jane!!!! ;D Have a great lunch out! I liked the spaghetti pizza casserole whatever thingy! Lol. I don't think it was supposed to be a crust because you made it in a rectangular pan. I only had 1 yellow pepper so used that, sauteed my mushrooms in a little healthy oil first before topping the "pizza" ... I used my own sauce, I think I followed the rest of the recipe, I am always changing them to suit my tastes and the ingredients I have on hand. It was more of a beef casserole though, and not really a a pizza-y taste. The spaghetti on the bottom really held together, as a base for the filling. Anyway, me and DBF loved it and I am having some leftovers for lunch today. I lost 1.6 at WI last night ! ;D only 1.6 more until I don't have to pay. I am happy and will continue slowly but steadily .... Have a great day!
