Good morning challengers!
I decided to WI early this morning because we are going out for a nice anniversary dinner tonight and I know regardless of what I eat the scale would probably show a gain with the salt, etc. So, I was down .6 this morning - I gained .6 last week so I lost what I gained the week before. My two busy/crazy days this week are over with - I am going spinning this morning for the first time in several weeks and I know it will kick my butt! I need it though and I'm looking forward to it.
Can you believe tomorrow is Friday already?
Have a great day!

Jane,
I am glad to be back as well. I have really struggled with being consistent in the last year so it feels good to be back amongst friends.
Questions: We get two teaspoons of oil a day... right? How quickly we forget....
UPDATE: I found and re-read my first week book. It is good to remember what is actually core and what I have slowly decided over time should be core.
Food was good today and I did manage my hour of exercise (stairclimber and weights). Stayed away from the dessert so things are moving in the right direction.

Hi and good morning... Yes, 2 teaspoons of healthy oil a day... I couldn't list the 8 GHG if I tried. Hope everyone has a fantastic weekend!

Since I have my book handy:
8 healthy guidelines are:
-5 serving veggies and fruit -eat whole grains -2 servings milk products (low or non fat) -healthy oil (olive, canola, safflower, sunflower and flaxseed) -get enough protein -limit sugar and alcohol (do margaritas count?) -6 glasses of water -take a multi-vitamin
Here is also a list I was writing to myself this afternoon
Things I know about myself and my weight:
I will quickly gain weight if I continually eat sugar and don't work out.
I will only gain it a bit slower if I continually eat sugar and do work out.
My gains will be much smaller if I do something about the gains quickly.
I do fine on core if I stick to it. I don't need to look at any other plan or try to figure out how I should lose weight. Core works for me and I shouldn't spent any time trying to figure out what else would work for me instead of core.
I will always love sugar and enjoy eating it. That is just the nature of me. I need to allow myself some sugar but in order for me to be at peace with it I have to moderate my intake in some conscious manner.

Good insights, Cynthia! I have to be careful about sugar, too, but for me the worst form of sugar is when it is in the form of a baked good. A moderate amount of chocolate can satisfy me, but I could eat an entire bundt cake once I get started! Ugh.
I did pretty well on my goals this week. I did not exercise yesterday, but it was my first day off from the gym in about ten days. Hopefully today I'll find the time. I did stay away from white flour and potato chips, and I am feeling strong in that area now.
The exercise is making me feel so good about myself. I can't believe I have been letting it slide for so long. I am seeing the weight come off faster and more easily, and my self-image feels so much better. Even though I am above goal, I feel healthier and more attractive. My stomach is flatter and I have more energy. I'm going to keep it up, even though I have to get up before 5 am to fit it in.
Good to see you here, Jane!

Well I had a pretty good day. Went to a birthday party (had one piece of cake that I planned on!) and stayed core for the rest of the day.
I am going to go on a bike ride with my son tomorrow and hopefully that will add a little more exercise to my count for the week.
Take care all! Cynthia

So far, so good. I've been able to stay away from my "forbidden" (for now) foods and it really is helping me as far as cravings and portion control. Today I did not exercise, but I will tomorrow morning. It's funny how I actually have an easier time fitting exercise in on a workday, when the entire day is scheduled, even though I have to get up so early in the morning to do it.

I am the same way with exercise. It is much easier for me to do it at work then try to fit it into a wide open day like today. So I didn't exercise but will tomorrow. Weeks results. I used 31 of my 35 WPA. Worked out for 140 minutes but was aiming for 240. So overall not bad. Weigh in is tomorrow so my fingers are crossed that the numbers will be encouraging. Hope everyone has a great week. Keep posting folks!

whoa! Nice picture Cynthia! Wish i was there!
Just stopping by to well, stop by. I'm hanging in, trying to plan better and make better choices...sometimes succeeding and sometimes, not so much.
Busy week ahead with teaching and travel. and then when i return it's teaching, a long week of rehearsal and then off to Europe with a show.
Have a great week everyone! s

Hi all,
I did fine over the weekend, although I did not exercise yesterday. This morning, I am remembering how important PLANNING is. I left my wallet and carkeys in the kitchen, where my puppy is sleeping. If I go in there to get them so I can go to the gym, he will wake up and start barking when I leave, and wake up everyone else in the house. Aaargh.

Good morning all-
We had a great family-filled weekend - hope everyone else did too. I went spinning yesterday while DS was at Sunday school and it was a great class. Last night we had friends over for dinner and I had a few slices of not-worth-it pizza and some cake. Oh well - back to spinning today. This week is crazy with meetings tonight and tomorrow night, and then holiday dinners Wednesday, Thursday and Friday evening. We are having 8 people here on Wednesday - not a large group thankfully. I'm going to do my grocery shopping this afternoon.
Hope everyone has a great week!
-Beth

Hi, everyone - hope you all had good weekends. My oldest nephew was 10 yesterday, how the time flies!! Can't believe it.
I got some APs cleaning my house in the heat this Saturday - man was it hot. I am still trying to get my heat pump replaced so I'll have heat this winter, but I haven't had AC in over a year ... sometimes home ownership is so hard!
All in all I think I ate less the last few days.... I gotta get back to eating more Core.

DOWN 5 LBS. I love that first week on core. The numbers are always good for me.
YEEE HAAA! Just the kind of inspiration that I was looking for. Now I have to keep going and not stop like I usually do.
