Dinner tonight was better - I stayed away from having any challah at all. The raisin challah is so good this time of year, but I had it Wednesday night and Thursday night so I did not need it again tonight and did not have it (it is addictive). Also had the low-cal dessert and fruit and a small piece of a cookie cake. A couple of bites of matzah ball and just had the broth. Did not take second helpings of any meat. It was much more in line with what I should have been doing the last two nights.
Tomorrow night we're going out for a friend's birthday to a Chinese/sushi place. If I can stay away from the fried foods and saucy stuff I'll be okay. I haven't had sushi in awhile so that is something I'm looking forward to. My gym just started a 3:30 Saturday afternoon spin class which I'll try and make. A great idea to workout RIGHT BEFORE getting ready to go out on a Saturday night. We hope to hit the Farmer's Market in the morning to pick up fresh produce.
Hope everyone has a wonderful weekend!!

Well yesterday was a mixed day for food. I ate a core breakfast, a very hearty very non-core lunch at my brother's birthday and then a very light core dinner. So today I will stay within my 5 or less WPA and then start a new week tomorrow.
I am feeling trimmer and that is nice. Measured my waist and I have lost two inches since I started this and that really shows up in how my pants fit.
How is everyone else doing?

Well, I didn't make that afternoon spin class yesterday.
We had a wonderful night out with our good friends - I had a lot of wine and sushi. By the time the sushi came to the table I wasn't hungry at all but ate it of course. Today is a new day and the start of a new week. I did a great spin class today and will do another tomorrow. I think a visit back to the podiatrist is in my plans this week, my heel has really been bothering me.
We got some great apples, pears, tomatoes and string beans at the Farmer's Market. We're off to Costco this afternoon to pick up some berries for the week - they have the best.
I hope everyone had a great weekend! The weather really cooled down here so it definitely feels like autumn.

hi gals,
I had a wonderful 4+ days on the beach at a fantastic conference. Usually such conferences have much irrelevant or un-useful content but this one was fabulous so what i thought would be endless time on the beach walking and splashing in the Gulf, turned out to be sitting and conference-ing. I ate three meals a day that were provided and gained 2 pounds.
But I'm back for a week (albeit a very difficult week-- daily 3 hour rehearsals for the show we're taking in addition to some other extra demands in preparation for being away for over a week) before i head out to Ireland.
My plan is that I will stay focused and determined to keep my energy steady and just get things done, and that I will keep my eating fuel-ish (aka CORE) and simple.
Have a great day!

Hi all,
I've been struggling with healthy eating over the past few days, especially with the sugar cravings. Actually, it's not so much the cravings that get me, but how easily I give in to them, and how I justify it with "you deserve to eat this brownie, you are under so much stress." I need to change my way of thinking. After all, I CHOSE my career, I do enjoy it, and what good does the sugar actually do for me? Does it actually help relieve stress? Nooooo. What actually helps relieve stress? Healthy eating, exercise, enough sleep, and focused, organized work. Eating sugar (or any kind of junk) actually makes doing all those things more difficult.
Just for today, I will not eat junk food. Now that I'm done with my self-rant, it's off to the gym.

weekend was good and WI was even better-down 2.8. I hope this puts me on the road back to goal. Cancel that! It HAS put me on the road back to goal. I am worth it!
Coco...you do deserve the brownie, you work hard. However, it's not worth the stress it will cause after you eat it. right?
HIHO all..

I know what you mean about last years clothes. I'm afraid to even get mine out......uggggghh. It's just another reason we have to follow the program the best we can. I refuse to buy new clothes, so I've gotta get this extra weight off. HIHO everybody! Welcom rosy.....

Hi all-
The week so far is going pretty well. I may be able to get in a little bit of a walk today. When I got on the scale Monday I was up about 2.5 pounds - not bad after the holidays. I hope by WI tomorrow I will be lower than that. The weather here is HOT - even too hot to workout outside, The last few days has hit 90 degrees. I'm ready for the fall already! Has anyone tried the new WW strawberry oatmeal? I bought some and I'm going to try it this morning - even though it feels too hot for oatmeal!
Jane - great job on that huge loss!
Have a great day everyone-
Beth
PS: I forgot to share last week that Sept. 15 was my 2-year anniversary of joining WW. My life has changed completely since then!!

Good morning all - well I lost .4 at WI last night and I will take it! Slowly but surely down down down .... ;D I'll get there.
I refuse to buy new clothes too, I threw out all my "old" too-big jeans at the beginning of the summer, oh boy! But I opened a drawer this morning and found a whole bunch of jeans, lol I thought I had packed them away...now to try them on and see how tight they'll be, since these are my "good" jeans that I saved because they fit well...back when I was a few pounds lighter.
I wish it was HOT in NJ!! Oh how I miss summer already and fall's OK (it starts Sunday) but it leads to the colder weather...sigh. Hey Sept. 14 or so was my 3 year anniversary of joining WW, I forgot! Congratulations, Beth!

So sorry I haven't said hi in the last few days. Just busy and lazy I guess.
I gained a pound this week which is directly related to my bread intake. But I have been very controlled about how much sugar I am eating. Back to hardcore today and hopefully a loss by monday.
Congrats on your loss Cathy.

Hi, all! I'd love to join you!
I posted my "history" on the Introductions thread ... I'm a returning Lifer who took a slight detour and gained back all but 3 of the pounds I lost in the past. Ugh!
Anyway, I'm so glad I found you all ... you have such a positive outlook and it's refreshing.
I'm looking forward to gleaning motivation and inspiration from you all as I get back into the Core lifestyle.
My goals are:
*Try new foods *Cook ahead for week night meals/lunches *Try new homemade smoothie recipes *Get back on treadmill *Lose 5 pounds by Halloween

Hi Country - glad you joined us!
I went to WI this morning even though I knew my regular leader wouldn't be there but I haven't been to an actual meeting in several weeks so I felt I really wanted to go. I was up .2 from the last time and exactly at goal so I'm happy.
Hope everyone has a great weekend!
-Beth
