Down .3 this week. My husband hit his 10% this week (16 pounds), so August has been a good month for us.
Drat! This was another one of those mystery weeks... great on the program, yet an annoyingly small loss. I am now .2 away from hitting the 30-pound mark. Stupid old Pound 29 seems to be stubbornly hanging on by its fingernails.
This morning, I looked back through my journals for the month of July, and realized that I've recently stopped eating my APs. Although I have very little desire to eat anything outside the Core lists, I've found that everything seems to work better for me when I do use them -- especially when it's for higher-fat things like real mayonnaise. Need to get back to doing that!
Mini-goal for this week: finish getting rid of Pound #29!!

Pound 29 finally hit the road -- and took a few of its friends with it! ;D
I was down another 3.3 tonight, for a total of 33 -- and got my star for 30 pounds.
I went back to eating my APs this week, and it does seem to do the trick for me. (Who would have ever thought that mayonnaise would have such an effect??) My period should start next week, so I may have a smaller loss -- and that's okay.
Tonight's meeting was pretty cool. I was able to answer all of the questions my leader posed about the 8 Healthy Guidelines and the 3 Rules of Core. Several times, she told people to talk to me if they have questions about Core, and even suggested that people might give Core a try if they wanted to improve their losses.
Mini-goal for next week: get the 35-pound star.

Way to go Becky!! Keep up the good work.......
I enjoyed our meeting this week too. It's amazing how many people did not know the guidelines.
Have a great week!

Congratulations Becky!! That is quite an accomplishment!
I just returned to WW and core last Tuesday and then promptly went away for five days on a business trip. They are always nightmares because I have to eat three meals a day out and can't always control what is served in business meetings when the food is provided for you. However, this time I was determined to eat properly and not just eat what was given to me. With careful planning and better choices, I was able to lose 1.2 pounds this week. More importantly, it proved to me that I can control situations that once had seemed beyond my control.
Have a great week everyone!!!

Thanks for the encouraging words, everyone! It helps to have a place like this to share my experiences.
Kathy -- although my leader is a very nice woman, she has never been supportive of Core, which is why I sometimes mention it when something positive happens at a meeting. Her attitude has changed in recent weeks, most likely due to the undeniable success my husband and I have had with it. For her to suggest that Core was a good alternative was monumental, and I'm pretty proud of her for it.
Daley -- being in control is such a wonderful feeling, isn't it? Congratulations on handling a tough situation so very well!!

Down .7 this week -- for a total of 33.7 so far.
I'm pretty happy with that, since we went out of town over the long weekend. Not enough water and very little exercise!
At one point during tonight's meeting, my leader asked who was doing Core, and there was another new hand in the air! After the meeting, the young lady came over to talk to me. She's a newbie to WW and to Core. We've exchanged email addresses, and I'll give her copies of my recipes, and support her as much as I can.
Mini-goal for next week: same as last week... get that 35-pound star!

Down another 1.3 today, for a total of 35 so far.
This coming Sunday is my 50th birthday, and my mother is throwing a barbecue for me. She's a WW life-timer herself, and has already consulted with me on the menu. There will be plenty of Core food for us, and a low-point angel food birthday cake. It sure helps to have a mother who knows what it's all about!
The rest of the week will be something of a planned challenge: on Monday, we begin our vacation trip to Hearst Castle. We plan to attend a Sunday morning WW meeting (before the barbecue), because we don't want to skip a weigh-in. I plan to take water and fruit, as snacks for the drive, so we don't get tempted by gas station junk foods. I made sure to book a hotel room with a fridge, and can keep yogurt, fruit, veggies and water on hand.
We're planning to enjoy ourselves at the local restaurants, so more than a few WPAs will get used. However, I've already purchased tickets to three of the tours, which is around 5 hours of walking -- lots of APs!
We've chosen to maintain during the trip, which is wholly doable. But I'm now only .9 pounds away from the 230's, so I will be right back on the straight and narrow as soon as we get home.
Mini-goal for the week: have a good vacation and maintain my loss.
Alternate mini-goal: lose 1 pound, and get below 240.

Back from my wonderful vacation!
I weighed in last Sunday, before my birthday party and the trip, and was down .5
I weighed in this evening, and am down another 1.6... I have lost 37.1 pounds, and am now below 240!!!
My vacation was so full of victories, it's hard to even remember them all:
We did indeed go on all three of the castle tours that I had pre-paid tickets for. Hours and hours of walking, and many flights of stairs, and loads of standing... and I never once had to stop and sit down, or beg for mercy!! There is no way I could have done any of that six months ago -- I feel as if I have escaped from prison.
We did take the snacks and food that I planned, and only ate out for three meals during the trip. We ate at several nice restaurants, kept things simple, ate mostly Core and had lovely experiences. We used a few points, but I was hip-deep in APs and had them to spare.
When we got home, I cleaned out my closet -- I have a huge bag of stuff to go to Goodwill. And I had to do that because all of my work clothes were just too baggy to look decent for the office anymore.
And I am now finally out of the X sizes! I needed a nice blouse for a party, and went to my usual store. I tried on one in XL, and it was big... so I got brave and tried it in L. It fit perfectly!!!
It was a great week.
Mini-goals for this week: 1) join the gym, in preparation for my usual swimming pool closing down for two months, and 2) get my 40-pound star.
