Katie - WOW! What an amazing loss - good for you.
I was disappointed to have a .4 gain this morning at WI! After earning 24 APs this week I was a bit perplexed. However, maybe all of that exercise will catch up with me for next week.
It is going to be in the 70s here this weekend - I'm excited!
Hope everyone is doing well - it has been very quiet here.
-Beth

Earning 24 ap's in one week is amazing... Good for you Beth Ema, cooking with your children, is good for you all. Teaching kids how to cook is one of the best things we can do as parents. Great togetherness time, good lessons on healthy eating, and lots of fun. Who has to clean up though lo I've gotten lots done around the house yesterday and today. Kids are all gone for the weekend and DH is working overtime. Good time to get stuff done. Have a great day Katie

Well...a few weeks later and no lighter...I reread my goals and see I have not done what I said I would. Time to rethink and get back on track again.
Saw some have returned to the boards, some have lost and some have gained weight. Guess this is an ongoing never ending process.
Pam - I am so sorry to hear about your kitty...it is never easy to lose a loved one (with or without fur).
Anyway...hope tomorrow is better!

I am checking in now while I can. I am HAPPY to report that I continue to do well so far on my challenge:
My goals: check in at least 3 times a week-- DONE THAT! exercise at least 3 times a week--Got in three, and a few extra brief walks while doing errands. go to a meeting at least every 2 weeks--Went to a meeting today which I didn't expect to be able to do, as DH was at work. I bought a coloring book and markers and set DS#4 (just over 3 years old) up and he sat nicely next to me and colored the whole time. I really didn't expect him to last the whole meeting, just figured I'd get in as much as I could, and it would be more with the coloring book than without. eat 2 fruits and 2 veggies a day--so far, so good' most days getting in more than 4 F/V for the daystop eating before I feel stuffed--so far, so good most meals Lose some weight--DOWN 3.2!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hello dear ones. I have been so busy with many concerts and end of semester activities, coupled with a move to a new apartment (timing has never been one of my great strengths ) that i have nary had a minute to write... or be especially focused on my diet, except to bemoan the state of my body... Big congrats to you, Ema... Way to switch things up! and Katie...Brava to you! and Beth... amazing on the AP's! And yeah! to the rest of the challengers for hanging in there. It does my heart good to come back here after being otherwise focused to see your commitment, generosity and unflagging ability to find the upside, even when folks are feeling a bit down. New week..I'm going to have to make some interesting choices in the next few days, involving more than food... but I have great hopes for this being a better week for me eating wise. I actually have SPACE in my new kitchen for a lovely bowl of oranges...which is shrinking as I actually eat them instead of other less virtuous snacks! Have a great week! sulee

Katie - what a loss! Congrats! Ema - Yay you! Congrats on that loss also! Beth - Excellent on the APs - .4 was probably that new lean muscle mass you have! ;D Cathy G. - Hang in there - refocus - we all know the feeling.
Have a good day all!

Ema - good for you on that amazing loss!
It's always so comforting to check in here and see old friends. Glad we all continue to HIHO together.
DS is sick today, we were up during the night with him vomiting. Needless to say I got about 3 hours of sleep and did not get a chance to workout today. He is keeping everything down today so hopefully he will go to school tomorrow and I can spin in the morning.
The weather here was amazing this weekend! My DH and I spent an evening downtown without DS and had a great dinner, saw a great show and went to a wine, cheese and chocolate bar afterwards and sampled all of them. As guilty as I felt eating that luxuriously it also was a moment in time that I know I will remember! We also did a lot of walking around the city which was fun and may have worked off some of those calories.
Hope everyone is enjoying their Monday.
-Beth

Hey All,
Ema and Katie: Congrats on your losses!

So why when I have a great week like last week, do I then turn around and completely blow it the next? DD even commented on it. Wow was that something to think about. It's been raining steadily for 2 days so no walking for me. Our girls were gone over the weekend so I went back into the old mode of kids are gone it's time to celebrate. We had KFC for supper one night and now I've been on a bender.... ok time to stop and and a good day. My plan for today...cereal, fruit and skim milk for breakfast; nice salad and an apple for lunch; left over Core veggie pasta for supper. I am teaching a friend how to sew and will be at her home for a couple hours tonight, so that means I won't be munching through the evening Now to just stay out of the candy at work Good plan... I just have to stick to it. Katie

Katie - I'm with you. I had a lot of non-Core food Saturday night (wine, chocolate, cheese, etc.) and I'm trying to get away from the "well, just #%&^ it" attitude and to not feel guilty about that night. My DS was sick the last 2 days so today was my first workout this week besides Saturday afternoon. I've been trying to eat a good variety of foods and work on water (always a hard one for me except when exercising). I'm feeling good today and have planned out my meals - I'm making salmon for dinner although not on the outdoor grill because it is pouring here!
Hope everyone has a good day.
-Beth
