struggle struggle struggle..that seems to be more story lately. Did I think it was going to be easy or something?? No idea...anyways mwi 191.5 breakfast oats sliced peach on top glass of milk
Lunch made chicken salad using ff mayo...this was sooo good lemon juice grapes, celery, salt, pepper, paprika, sooo good on a low fat bun (1) glass of milk
Dinner: more chicken salad on a wheat pita (1) milk
OK!! Enough is enough. I am back to core...To think I almost considered giving up and going to flex! lol I guess its better than just giving up but still. This is so much healthier. I was so excited cause the chicken salad I made today rocked! It was sooo good. ANd all core!
I went grocery shopping tonight. DH and I went to a grocery where you can buy 10 lb bags of skinned chicken breasts and 10 lb bags of the extra lean ground beef. ITs a small store known for their meat. Its a lot cheaper cause you buy it in bulk. But then you go home and divide it up into freezer bags..fun fun. We have been talking about getting a deep freeze so we can stock up on meat and frozen veggies when they are on sale. Any advice on this??? Not sure if it will be worth it. ON core we eat so much more meat. before it was all processed Smart ones and pizzas yuck.

Jenny, On the freezer.....I couldn't live without mine. I do alot of Sam's & Costco shopping and really stock up on frozen veggies & fruits. (love Costco's frozen berry mixture!) I also make extra icecubes and keep them for back-up during the warm Florida weather. I'll probably keep mine long after the kids are gone (1 down, 3 to go!). I suggest an upright model only for ease of finding things (although reputed to be not as cost effective as a chest model). The chest models hold the cold better, but food tends to get "buried".
Good luck! And thanks for all you do for the Daily Journal Board! ;D Debbie

bmwi 190.5 I lost 2 this week 35 wpa remaining breakfast oatmeal pears lunch 2 chicken salad pitas (3) grapes and a few bites of beef barly soup. snack got home from work really hungry 1 pita w/ a little chicken salad (1) dinner hamburger bun (2) snack ff/sf pudding wpas used today 6 29 remaining Rethinking the freezer thing. I found a butcher shop place that will let you buy 10 lbs of boneless skinless chicken breasts...You go home and divide it and store it. We got 8 packages of 2 breasts out of it. So 8 meals...and they let you buy 10lb bags of the ultra lean hamburger stuff...so maybe I will do that for a while...I sure did save a lot of money that way. We went shopping and looked at freezers...Just cant justify the cost vs how much we will save buying stuff on sale...>I dunno...But while at sears I spotted a beautiful side by side fridge with icemaker! Mine is from the 80s and no fun. I want my fridge to sparkle but its old. No matter how much i clean it its still dingy. My DH says that doestn justify a new fridge...He says it works fine! I told him I could break it! LOL Hmmm evil grin! anyone know a good way to break a fridge? lol

Jenny, I could come over and SIT on your fridge!!!!!!!!! Lol! That would definitely get your husband to get you a new fridge. I have an old fridge, too. When I moved into my apartment I bought a used one for $100. It works fine but is pretty old. And it's a cream color one, I want a nice white plastic-y looking fridge.

Thanks for your note in my journal! I'm trying not to get freaked out about the slower weight losses. I did lose the 32 lbs on Core only. I was on flex from September - November last year, and only lost 12 lbs. Gained all 12 PLUS 3 more during the month of December (I guess I REALLY enjoyed Thanksgiving & Christmas!! ). Decided I REALLY hated counting points, and decided to go Core on January 1st. It was the best thing I could have ever done! Finally, a healthy way of eating that I can live with forever! Of course, we'll see how maintenance goes once I get to goal. Good luck on your "journey". Debbie

26 wpi remaining mwi 187 I have a new attitude today. I CAN AND WILL do this! It will be a lifestyle change. If I have a bad day it happens...Somedays normal people eat more calories and they go back to their healthy eating the next day. I want to eat like a normal person and get rid of my issues with food. breakfast shredded wheat with skim milk lunch (my mom came over for lunch today. It was nice to sit down with everyone and have lunch. My husband comes home for lunch each day so he was there too. My daughter pigged out on the spaghetti. She even liked the meatballs. She has been loving the food I have been making. My mom had never had whole wheat spaghetti before. She said she couldnt taste the difference and that she might buy this kind from now on since its healthier...then she proceeds to drink her regular coke..lol I made a small loaf of garlic bread that I had in the freezer...I wasnt going to have any of it but it smelled sooo good I allowed myself a very small piece and I really enjoyed it. Thankfully the rest of the family took care of the rest of the loaf. My mom brought over a few new toys for kennedy and some snacks...ugh. She spoils her rotten with the toys and I'm the one that has to pick them up! She also brought over too much junk for Kennedy..She brought over grahm crackers, pop tarts, and fruit loop cereal bars..>UGH like Kennedy needs that kind of junk! She is only 20 months old. She is on the skinny side and could use to gain some weight but I dont want her having junk like that with no nutritional value.) ww spaghetti with mushrooms and meat balls small piece garlic bread (3) (23 wpa remaining) snack ff cottage cheese diet coke dinner grilled chicken couscous broccoli cantaloup and homemade fruit dip from ff yogurt water just got back from the gym...They started me on a new program and informed me I havent been there in 2 months...Gee thanks! lol Anyway I did 25 minutes cardio, some crunches and some weights...fun stuff They totally have redone my gym!! WOW its way cool They have lots of new equipment. They have created a front room that is coed just for cardio..then they have cardio in the back and weights and stuff. I used to only be able to go to the gym MWF but now I can go 7 days a week since they have teh coed area...Dont think I'll go that much but at least I can go on different days now. The front room has all kinds of top of the line bikes, treadmills and eliptical machines..Each one has this place you can plug your headphones into and watch tv...it really makes the time go faster and I noticed I didnt want to quit as fast! lol its really cool I drank 30 oz of water at the gym too..its easy to get down when your exercising.
