HI! I don't know what happened but I stared a journal this morning and it's not here! Can you believe...perhaps I did not hit Post?...OK starting again... Here I am... I always wanted to journal to make myself more accountable and also to vent about some non-WW topics (so be forewarned). I think writing down what I eat and what I feel will not only help me on my maintenance, weight management journey but get me through life! So here goes. Now what did I eat yesterday?? 1/15/07Breakfast: Smoothie made with 8 oz. soy milk, 1/2 c.? ff plain yogurt, 1 banana, 4 frozen strawberries, some Splenda, cocoa and yes, 2 TBSP. natural peanut butter... Lunch: Chicken with rosemary from Chicagobeth's recipe - yum! over brown rice, 1 pear Dinner: 2 slices leftover pizza!!! a handful of pistachios and 4 dates...oh man AP's: 5 because I did a 53 min. Firm TransFirmer tape... Water: all of it and more, I drink a lot of water a day Oil/other 8 GHG's: ?? What are they again... ;D I'm a little irritable bowel so I can't eat fresh fruits/veg every day or have too much dairy....but I try. I bought fresh grapes and froze in little bags to eat, I made more soup this weekend and the chicken rosemary...so I'm OK food-wise. It's TOM this week but I'm hoping for another loss tomorrow anyway!

Yay... I'm so glad you started a journal! It's a fun way to stay in touch with core peeps, in addition to the other sites we all use.
Thanks for the steel cut oats recipe. I do the overnight yogurt thing with regular oats -- it never occurred to me to try it with the groats!
Have a great day, Cathy!!

Hi, Sulee!!! ;D
Hey it never occurred to me to try the ff yogurt with regular oatmeal, duh! I usually buy the instant though, does that work? Another way for me to get in my dairy since I don't buy milk and not having yogurt every day, it's been OK to my body so far. Maybe the live bacteria in yogurt makes it more tolerable for me. I really like the steel cut though, I may make it tonight for breakfast tomorrow...

I think the instant oats might get so mushy that they might actually kind of decompose in the yogurt, which wouldn't work for me. I like a little resistance in the foods I eat... Llike al dente pasta... except of course for ice cream!! But give it a whirl!

Hi Cathy! Glad to see you started a journal! How many AP's a week do you typically earn? I never really kept track of it by week but I think maybe I'll start. Keep on rockin' with your great week! -Beth

Yay! Cathy has a journal! *bounce bounce bounce*
And yes PLEASE do post about non-WW stuff. I think you'll find you're not the only one. In any case, one of the best things about this group is the way we support each other in everything, not just WW stuff. Looking forward to what you have to say, as always.

Hi! Hi! Hi everyone who writes to me via my journal! Hee heee! ;D Breakfast: I did prepare the Irish steel cut oats last night with ff yogurt, a banana, Splenda and some PB...so that's what I ate this morning. Lunch: Pumpkin veggie soup, another variation where I added peppers...and 4 of those dates! They are small, and Core (right?) I love them. Three (3) little Dove candies...dang it all!!Dinner: I have my WW meeting tonight and then I pick up my food order (I shop on-line) so and by the time I get home and unpacked... but I want to make, leftover spaghetti squash sauteed with sliced mushrooms and some red pepper flakes olive oil from Italy... I did not make, instead I had london broil with sauteed mushrooms, an apple with PB, 8 cheese pringles and some chocolate chips on my apple!! AUGH![/size] It's TOM, that's my excuse and I'm stickin' to it... Hey Beth - as for APs I used to get about 20-25 per week average but now with working for WW I've had to change around my regular workout schedule...so maybe 15-20 now, which means I need this journal to watch my food intake!

Hi Cathy, I like the Stott Pilates line of DVDs. They have straight Pilates, no ball or props and other dvds that use more toys. They also have a line of pilates infused yoga tapes that some people like. They have a website: stottpilates.com and LOTS of choices. Don't be shy about starting slowly and then since you are already fit you'll pick up the nuances and get to the more advanced work in no time. But do listen to your body! Let me know if you have other s

Hi hi!
I've never figured out whether to answer someone in their journal or yours either. I try to write more about you in your journal and more about me in mine...but figure we all read each other's journals so it probably works out in the end.
OK I see I'm gonna have to try steel cut oats. They are the new Kippy's craze! Do they really taste different than...what--tin cut oats? Aluminum cut oats? ;D

Hi Cathy! I'm impressed with how many APs you earn. I still haven't figured out how to get the 28 per week that WW "recommends." Who has that kind of time?!!! I guess the secret is really ramping up the intensity . . . Anyway, you are doing so great and it's fun to see your daily menu!

Hi!!! Love the journals, it's such a great way to really get to know each other and get menu ideas. How is working for WW going? I wanted to, but am 10lbs over their weight limit and am unwilling to lose that much more just to satisfy their guidelines. Probably with my work schedule and the schedule of the local meetings it wouldn't be possible anyway. Have a great day Katie

I lost .2 at WI last night, I said I would be happy with any loss and I am!! Cuz it's TOM and last night's dinner was a disaster, see above....bleah. 1/18/07 Breakfast: Bowl of Kashi 7 Grain cereal (no added sugar so Core, right?), w/sliced banana Lunch: Another disaster...we are getting free pizza today at work and yes, I am going to eat 2 slices. That's all I'll eat for lunch, that's it...but I'm doing it. Instead I had 1 piece of pizza, some chicken caesar salad that was also available, and one piece (3x3) of vanilla/choc cake w/vanilla pudding!! Oh somebody slap me.Dinner: No plans yet, I work 1 meeting tonight as receptionist, the 5:45 pm, after doing the money tally, I'm usually home by 8:00 the latest...pretty late, just like last night...I have no plans for dinner but I do have veggie soup and barley soup in the fridge...I'll figure something out. I ended up having the rest of my beef tamale crockpot "pie" with an avocado and ff plain yogurt, finished the dates and had a handful of those damn pistachio nuts. Can anyone say trigger foods?Coco - yeah I don't know how anyone gets 28 APs! Seriously, I don't have a DH or kids and I can't do it. Getting 4 APs for 7 days is too much... I don't work out every day but I try to do 5-6...I find it difficult to really rate APs anyway.... Hi, Katie! Working for WW is OK...but it's hard to find a steady gig at my center, which is the only place I would work right now...I haven't learned the computer yet because my center doesn't have one...it's not a lot of money either, it's not min. wage, you get a % of product sales, + the more members attend the more money...I don't know how they figure it out, and I haven't been paid yet anyway! I think it's every 2 weeks? I might lose my Sun. a.m. spot to someone who is returning from leave of absence, and that would only leave me Thurs. p.m....Seriously I might consider other PT work, I did this because I love WW and I need a little extra cash but there might be other PT jobs to try...

Hi Cathy,
I must say it's quite fun to get in inside WW scoop from you!! Sorry that the hours aren't meeting your needs. Maybe you could find something where there are additional perks! I teach one hour a week at a REALLY nice women's fitness center so i can have a membership, which i would never afford otherwise.. it's like over 100/month. If i had more time I'd love to work at Banana Republic to get their clothes at 1/2 price!
the journals ARE a blast! and they have been busier lately than I've ever noticed in my Kippy-time!
s
oh yeah, Moira Stott is amazing! And somewhat humorless (IMO)... just as an fyi... so the vids are the best but not fun!!
