Last week I lost 1.2.
In about three hours I'll get to see how I did this week.
I think I probably did okay. I've stayed within the list and have used fewer than half my weekly pointss, but there is always that portion control thing. I have been eating a lot of fruts and veggies and fish and dairy, so that should help, and I've been drinking water (hot as it is, that isn't hard).
Wednesday is my scheduled weigh-and-measure day at Curves. I don't think I'll have done as great there (since I was gaining fast the first half of the month, and am probably losing slowly the second half) -- I just hope to have lost a little somewhere.
Today's my last day of vacation. Kids start back next Wednesday.

Well, I have gotten back on track since the last time I posted on this thread. I'm finally back down lower than I was before my early summer gain ;D
I'm wearing a size 16 top today, a hand-me-down from Laura, whose given me some hand-me-downs as she loses weight (some I can wear already, others I can't yet, but will) ;D It's funny -- last week she gave me one pair of pants (size 20, way too small), this shirt (size 16, fits perfectly), and one other shirt (size 18, too tight for me to wear comfortably). Basically, I've gone down from a 24 to a 20. Since I can wear some 18s, my commitment is not to buy anything larger than an 18 -- ever again. I got a pair of size 18 pants at Wal-Mart this morning -- plain gray pants, for $12, so it won't make me sad at all if I can't wear them for very long.
This next bit I've copied and pasted from what I wrote the Bravo Board, but I also wanted to put it here:
I was standing in line at Wal-Mart this morning, apparently at the same time everyone else in the area needed an oil change, too, and glanced up at the closed circuit TV, which was showing us all from the back. Most of us were dressed pretty much alike on this hot, humid morning -- shorts and T-shirts. Well, my first thought when I saw the fat lady on the screen was, But I'm not wearing a pink shirt. I looked down and, sure enough, I was wearing the lavender knit shirt I'd remembered putting on (a size 16, actually, the first one of those I've fit into). So I looked around, and a woman in front of me was wearing denim shorts and a hot pink T-shirt, and she was about the size I used to be (probably a little smaller, in fact).
Then I looked back at the TV and found myself -- sure, I'm still way too big, but I was not "the fat lady" any more -- I didn't really stand out in the crowd.
School's gotten started okay, but it's kept me pretty busy. That's probably a good thing, at least with respect with my eating.

I really haven't lost any weight since the beginning of summer vacation, but I think I'm okay with that for now. I haven't gained, I'm still exercising, and my eating habits have improved, so I'm making progress.
I'd considered trying Flex for a while, but I'm really re-thinking that. Losing weight is only part of what I'm trying to do -- I also need to lose my obsession with food. That's why Core seemed like a perfect plan -- no weighing, measuring, or counting. I'm doing well on the plan again. I think I'm doing okay. If I stay at a 35-lb loss for a while, I'm okay with that. As long as I stay with my healthier lifestyle and don't gain -- I'll start losing again.
And, at this point, I've gone from wearing mostly 24s to wearing some 18s. That's really nothing to sneeze at.

I think I've done okay with my food and exercise this week, so I'm trying not to stress about tomorrow's weigh-in.
I went out to lunch Saturday, to Lone Star Steak House, had their black bean soup sans the sour cream and the salad sans the croutons and cheese. I did have bread, though, with butter, so there were some points there.
At the end of this week (from Friday morning through Saturday night) I'll be at a conference. For some meals there will be little to no choice of food, and for others there will be great choices. I think I'm just going to try to be reasonable -- after all, my ultimate goal is to get over my food obsession and learn healthy food and exercise habits. I am planning to opt out of the Friday night festivities (which I don't enjoy anyway) in favor of the in-door pool (which I do enjoy).
I wasn't sure about bathing suits, but they're pretty stretchy and the newest one I bought last summer still fits. Actually, when I tried it on this afternoon, I felt sort of cute in it ;-) Well, cute for an overweight middle-aged woman, that is. I do have the size 16 Laura gave me, but it's still too tight.

Okay, it's been a while. As of 9/19 I'd lost 39 pounds, and it's back to 35, but I'm pretty okay with that. It took me about five months to lose 35 pounds, and, another five months later, I still haven't gained that back. I've never done that before. I haven't been sticking to Core, but I have kept some of the healthy eating habits I developed while I was sticking to it. I'm finding myself starting to eat more again, though, so I know I need to get back in gear. Right now, I'm planning how I'm going to make it through the holidays. It's so good to have you back. You have maintained very well these past few months what a great accomplishment. Break the rest down into smaller goals and you will do great. I know you can meet your ultimate goal. Your name says it all. KeliCan.

Today's my birthday. I'm 48. How did I get to be this old I've gotten back into Curves, but I can't seem to stay on Core more than a day or two in a row. I'm hoping it's just the season, cuz I'm gaining again (I haven't changed my ticker up -- I can't make myself do that). I'm still going to WW, though, so I don't feel as if I've given up. It's just that this time of year, every time I turn around there's "good" stuff to eat, and not the kind of stuff I get year round -- it's like Stuff yourself now because you won't get another chance for another whole year.

Well, the ticker shows it all that train is just going backwards, faster and faster I'm still eating everything I can see, smell, or think of a way to get -- the fatter and sweeter, the better But I have gotten back into Curves -- every day I can make it -- and I think it was exercising that got me into trying to eat better this time last year.
