Thanks, Cathy, for the tips on eating. I will be doing more of that in the future, I think. I just purchased some wild rice. The woman in the shop was worried I would come back to buy it from her if she ordered it since it is almost 10 dollars per pound. I need to look for some more brown basmati rice and that will be taken care of. I have thought it might be fun to create a Core type of personal cookbook...may think of that as my next project We are heading into Beirut this morning and will be back before four in the afternoon, I hope, to feed the chickens. While in Beirut I will hit the used book shop, the health food shop, the book shop for art books, the art store for watercolor brushes and paint and...whatever else tickles my fancy. My husband will be doing his own thing while I am out doing mine and we will have the drive in and return trip to spend together. May have lunch out...could end up having who knows what or where we will eat it. Anyway...here's to another great week ahead...think our time changes tonight or tomorrow night so maybe THAT is why I am up at 4? Getting ready for the time change?

VERY FUNNY~~~~NOT~
You scared me for a minute.
I weighed in today and was up .8 lbs. I knew it was coming. I told you all I was counting points for a couple of weeks, well it finally caught up with me.
I just hate counting points....I went off one day. But I'm back to CORE and the damage was not that bad.
Ahhhhh....so how was your week?

How funny There are days I seem to quit eating right then try to pick myself up and try again. I figure I cannot redo the past but can live this moment so do my best as best as I can in the current moment. That said...I sometimes wish my best was better Wildflower: You said you count points and hate it...do you count for accountability or when you start back on Core or??? Does counting points make you gain or is it not counting?

LOL sorry Sandy!! Didn't mean to scare you! I would never quit Kippy's!
To put my 2 cents in I hate counting points too...any points....I know we are supposed to count our 35 for non-Core foods and try to calculate APs but I can't do it. Or rather I won't. If a food has a nutrition label it's easy enough to take out my points tracker and figure out the points per serving but I don't. And I have a WW book for figuring out basic points like breads, etc. Something for me to think about ...
Hang in there, Cathy, every day is a challenge but we will get through. HIHO Sandy!

Hi Girls, and thanks for the encouragement!
About counting points....I knew when I started back it was good for me because I had lost all sense of what made me feel satisfied. I also could easily overlook a few non-core foods thinking "Oh well, they're not THAT bad." It all adds up.
So far so good. Then after a couple of weeks my mind and body just rebels against counting---especially when it comes to cooking something. Now I have a hard enough time getting in the kitchen and actually COOKING. ....to have to sit there and calculate points and then portion sizes--beforehand. Well, it's just mentally exhausting. And then if I'm a little hungrier one day and have say, a portion and a half--well then there's the guilt and fear all day long.
By the time lunch was over I'd be worried would I make it through the day without going over the points. Then finally, there's the old "Oh well, what the heck!" ....have a muffin! ...and another, and another.
Anyway, what a relief to come back to cooking with CORE ingredients.
There was a time when I hardly ever worried about the 35 FLEX points because I hardly ever ate any. I do now, so I will be prudent to count them.
I hope I have a better week. You too!!!!

No loss last week...but no gain. I am looking forward to this week and hope that a loss will occur...or at least...no gain

I gained more than you lost ... but I had a very poor-choice eating and no-exercise week. But it's over now! I am 2 days into my new week and doing good.

Where is everyone this week .... hope everyone had a good week! I lost 1.8 last night (of the 2.6 I gained last week) - and I am happy! I definitely watched portion size this week, in addition to getting back to my regular exercise routine. I guess it helped!

Hey all-
Sorry I've been MIA. I've been traveling a lot, and unfortunately the weight I took off when I got back down to goal before spring break I've put back on. It's depressing. And Passover starts tomorrow and it is a very challenging holiday becuse unfortunately it is very food focused and we observe for the full 8 days. Anyway, I'm trying to do my best with tracking and drinking water and working out and hopefully next week things will be looking up (actually down) a bit.
Hope you all have a great weekend and Happy Passover to those who are celebrating.
-Beth

Hang in there, Beth! Try to eat just a little of all the good food, every day! And get your water in, exercise if you can, you know the drill. Back on track after the holiday is over! And have a great weekend everyone!!

Well, the holiday dinners are over and therefore the worst of it is over as far as the food temptations are concerned. The rest of the week we'll be cooking and eating at home for the most part. I did not get a chance to exercise this weekend but hopefully I can get some in tomorrow. I need to weigh in on Thursday so I hope to at least be down a little bit from where I am.
Hope everyone had a great weekend!
-Beth

Count me in for this challenge! I think this will help me more accountable. After having our beautiful daughter last year, I allowed myself to gain back 25 pounds. So in total I gained 45 lbs with the left over baby weight. I made myself go back to WW last week. This challenge will help me keep on track! MY Goals: To recoup healthy eating habits that I lost. To motivate myself to exercise. To be more active.

Hi, Lucielu - welcome! We've been very quiet on these challenges lately but we try to keep in touch once a week! Congratulations on your daughter and good for you getting back to WW.
