Nope - Salt Lake was just with the hubby. But now the 3 of us are in NJ for a few days and then we're heading to Washington, D.C. for a few days. Believe it or not, we came home to 6 inches of snow in Chicago last night! So sad.
Happy Easter to those who celebrate and Happy Spring Break to those who are vacationing this week!

Happy Easter Everybody!
I had planned to eat on program today when hubby offered to take me out to breakfast at the sweet shop in Tripoli...counting points today, I think, instead of doing Core.
Hope you all have a wonderful day!

Update...by choosing to continue the day counting points rather than giving up, eating whatever and everything for another day. I am starting day three of points and have already dropped three pounds. I also found that between the last two sundays I had dropped two pounds without really changing much. So...that makes...five pounds lost in less than two weeks. I may or may not move back to Core in the future but will continue to check in here because I feel that this is a good spot to post...and because I started the challeng. Rather happy ... to say the least

Yeah Cathy -- you are doing great!!
Please don't leave us just because you are counting points - everyone does that while on Core once in a while. We have to count our 35 anyway.... keep us posted.
Hope everyone has a wonderful WW day!

Am hanging in there this week doing the points thing...had luncheon with International Women's group here in the north and had quite scintillating conversation from Bobbit to eunuchs in India to politics to relatives to...food. Anyway...today was not the greatest day in the week but plan to count all 35 points toward this day of the week...will eat target points (or Core if doing Core) and make sure that I am able to eat on the Wednesday luncheon events. Bad news...asked to make a carrot cake and took it with me...was good...left the remaining half with the hostess and did NOT bring any of it home...not even a slice for my husband...so...wasn't I a good girl?
Anyway...hanging in there and do weigh less than when we started this challenge so THAT is GOOD!

I just got back from weigh-in and
....I LOST 1 LB.!!!!I'm happy with that--Easter went good. I just went ahead and ate my regular lunch and everybody showed up for the big pot luck at 2 p.m. I ate a steamed sweet potato (I saved one out for myself) and a little dab of the other dishes that were brought. Later on that evening I went ahead and had a regular dinner. I feel so good about making it through the dinner and the week and still losing--as I said, Holidays can be my downfall. Good for you Cathy on leaving that cake there. I have counted the points for 2 weeks now, I think I'll keep doing it for at least one more week. I needed some accountability on portions.

Good job Cathy on leaving the carrot cake at the party!! I loooveeee carrot cake! YEAH Wildflower on another pound down!!! ;D I missed my meeting and WI last night because I had to work late. So I exercised when I finally got home to relieve some stress. I tried to find a meeting close to work to run in and WI today but no meeting times correspond to the errands I have to run after work, I'm not wearing my "WI clothes" lol so... I can skip this week because I joined monthly pass. I will be there next week!

I have a questions...
Do you plan your menus for the week? And, if you do, how do you figure out what to prepare? Do you have fixed breakfasts, do you have a list of favorite recipes to choose from? How do you go about it. And, how do you journal?

Hi, Cathy! I never used to really plan my weekly menus. But now, DBF and I are semi-living together. We have dinner together almost every night and sometimes breakfast and/or lunch on Sat./Sun. So...DBF likes to plan! He always planned his dinners so he could food shop each week. What a man...more organized in that regard than me! And he can eat anything and fits into his high school jeans, by the way. Anyway... so yes now we do plan our dinners. We eat everything and I only have a few veggie food allergies so we eat fish, shellfish, chicken, beef and steak occasionally, pork and pasta. I insist on only ww pasta, brown rice and ww couscous. DBF doesn't mind at all. At least 2 veggies and/or salad with each dinner. I try to prepare everything Core. During the week for lunch I usually have leftovers, he's on his own. Breakfast also on our own during the week - I love smoothies, polenta w/eggs and soy cheese and shredded wheat. But I do go off plan ... I am talking weekdays here also - on weekends the best laid Core plans can go awry. I have a ton of fav recipes from here and the WW site. Also I get recipes on-line and tweak them to make them Core. I like experimenting. I don't journal...I mean I don't count points, I do journal here, mainly to remember what I have eaten. I don't think you have to have a set plan for the week with meals. Even saying Monday chicken, Tuesday fish, etc. is good. Try to have Core staples like brown rice/couscous on hand. And fresh veg/fruits in the house each week is a very good idea. Sorry so long- hope this helps! What does everyone else think?
