Using good judgement...man oh man, is that where I get into trouble..lol I KNOW what good judgement is, I just don't listen to it very well. I'm so looking forward to spring so I can get back to biking. I'm not a serious rider, but back and forth to work is a huge improvement to my usual winter sluggishness. However today I earned a gazillion aps shoveling snow. Probably only a couple, but wow is this stuff heavy and lots of it. We kept out power though...many in our area are out for several days it looks like. Hopefully everyone is ok and will stay safe. Great to have you back Xena. Katie

I shoved snow for the first time in my life last week. It is really hard work. My hats off to you all who have to do it regularly.
Nope didn't stay core today either....hmmm.... am I serious about this or not?

Hey Cynthia - welcome back! It's good to hear from you. I know you can get focused again!
Katie - I am really looking forward to getting on my bike as well! So is my son. The two days last week that were 45 degrees we took his bike around the block and played outside a bit. It was short-lived!
It is very icy here this morning so it certainly doesn't look like I'll be doing another outdoor run anytime soon. However, I yesterday I did Day 3 of Week 5 of Couch to 5K which was a 20 minute straight run. I was avoiding it for a few weeks because my hip was bothering me but it has been feeling much better. I am excited to have completed it! Onto Week 6.
Don't let the weather get you down! The next few weeks are a really tough time of year (for me anyway) with spring on the horizon and the bad weather continuing. March is my least favorite month of the year. Maybe everyone we could all try a new recipe this week and share with everyone? Could be something to focus on.
Have a great day!!!
-Beth

Hi, Cynthia!!! Welcome back. I'm glad you are feeling better, we missed you. Glad you had fun in Tahoe, your son is so cute. I give you credit trying to be all Core all day. I personally can't do a day without sneaking in 1 non-Core food.... Welcome Karen-- to the challenge! I don't snack at all so I don't care about the new Core rules! Seriously, I do think they're guidelines and if I want to have a hard-boiled egg, ff yogurt w/fruit or something Core in between meals once in a blue moon...I will. For people who do snack frequently, though...I think the new guidelines are good because (except for the WW fruities, don't understand that), the new guidelines promote healthy eating of unprocessed foods for snacks. I'm an "old Core" girl myself. Good judgment is the way to go, we know what we need to do, it's just the doing it...

Hi Everybody!
I feel like I'm making improvements (judgment-wise, anyway).
I made Snickerdoodle cookies with my 10-year-old granddaughter and it was such fun! She copied down the recipe to take home, and was so proud of her box to share with her sisters.
Of course we left about a dozen here...for DH...right! I have had 2 each day. I know it's stalling the weight loss, but not causing me to crash and burn.
This IS an improvement for me! I previously would have never stopped at 2 cookies.
I continued to eat my healthy meals. So I think that's the best thing I've learned.
My hat is off to you girls with exercising and shoveling snow! I'm just doing yoga right now, which is helping me to get mobile and not hurt.
Good idea on trying a new recipe and sharing it!
Hope everybody has a great weigh-in this week!

Good day everyone! Urg! Today is very hit and miss. Good breakfast. Good lunch until I dived into the garlic bread head first! Worked out on the stair climber for 40 minutes. Dinner still has the potential to be perfectly core. So here is to a perfectly core dinner.
Results on dinner: NOPE. Didn't do it. But at least I am honest with myself about it.

How did your dinner go, Xena?
So in week one of the challenge I am happy to say that I accomplished my goals. Earned 24 APs, ate no sugar. I followed the GHGs. Writing things down is essential for me in that regard. I'll add that one to my list of April Fools Goals. So it's: No Sugar 24 or more APs GHGs
All in all I'm very gratified being back on this path. I was down 2.8 at weigh-in this morning. Yippee.
How's everyone else doing?

AWESOME!!! Mightycore and Sandy. I'm so excited for you.
I'm having a really hard time finding my focus. I guess I'm letting too many other things fill my mind and allowing my old habits to creep back in. But I'll keep plugging away. Possible I'll miss WI again tonight if the weather comes in that is expected. All ready many schools canceling so that means if our local school does so does WW. That will mean 3 weeks in a row no WW. Quite scary.
Have a great day and stay safe. Katie

Welcome back, Xena...great to have you back. I can't even conceive what first-time snow shovelling is like... it was so much a part of my life, from early childhood on. Admittedly, living in NC, I haven't shovelled in decades, and don't miss it a bit.
WTG, Sandy and MC, on the losses! I've been quietly lurking but have had a good Core run recently. I'm now a stonesthrow from goal (can hardly believe it!).
Last week I had only .6 to go, and despite a good week, was up another .6 this week, so now I've got 1.2 to go. I'm heading out for a 12-day beach vacation in Central America, so my challenge is not to lose any ground while I'm faced with daily guacamole & chips. I need to keep repeating, "Do I want to eat this, or do I want to reach goal?"
Have a great week, everyone.

Hi, all!
Great job Karen and Sandy!!! Vita - you are so close, you will get there. Have a wonderful time on vacation!! Hang in there Katie and stay safe also. Only 20 days until spring! I don't want to see another snowflake in NJ!
I WI last night and I lost 1 lb. I feel better that I am closer to goal but I want to be under as the warmer weather arrives...
Have a good day!
