HI everyone! I hope you had a good weekend, I did because it was long, we had off for President's Day yesterday, and I went out to dinner Saturday, had a "day off" from working WW on Sunday, ate too much, didn't exercise...did I say I had a good weekend? Well in some ways but not others.... it's a new week!! Beth - take it easy on your hip, I don't have any advice there. I mostly make steel cut oats raw soaked overnight in ff plain yogurt, I do like them cooked but it takes so long. Did you wear your pantsuit, where's the picture?? Kate - what color did you paint your kitchen? Sounds like you had a fun-filled weekend. Congrats on sticking to your One Day motto!! Vita - YAY size 10!! Yeah, womens' sizes bug me too but congrats! Sandy - your MIL does look wonderful and you are such a great baker! The cake is so pretty. Congrats to you for your great planned Core weekend. Everyone have a wonderful day.

I am happy to say I did my first outdoor run today! Kind of by default though. The Wednesday spin class at my gym is very popular, this instructor has a big following. I was there last Wednesday but I guess because the weather was bad it wasn't as crowded as normal. But even though I got there 10 minutes early today there were no more bikes left! I was not happy, AND I did not have sneakers with me just spin shoes so I couldn't use any of the other equipment. So being that is is 39 degrees and really sunny today I did a 40 minute walk/run outside and I ran a 20 minute consecutive run and other smaller sprints. I was proud of myself! And it was definitely different than running on the treadmill and did not bother my hip as much.
So HA! popular spin class - who needs ya?
I just enjoyed my post-run (I love being able to say that) yogurt and blackberries and now I'm going to take a much-needed shower.
Hope everyone is having a great day!
-Beth
PS: New food find - Trader Joe's low-fat blueberry bran muffins = 1 point

Good job Sandy!!! One pound at a time is what gets us all to goal. No official check in for me the high school girl that was supposed to come in to work didn't show, so I had to work to close and missed my meeting. 2 weeks in a row I've missed the meeting. Kind of scares me, but I'll be back next week. HIHO Katie

Hi Katie,
I know what it means to you to get to your meeting. That has been my downfall in the past and I'm determined to NOT miss meetings.
You can do it! You can check in here every day, and maybe that will help.
Have a good CORE weekend everybody!

Well hello everyone. I am draggin' my tail back in here and signing up for this challenge. I pretty much dropped out of the last one. I was feeling very down and even depressed (for a while there) but am now feeling MUCH MUCH better. We just got back from a week in Tahoe and the skiing and snow ball fights were so much fun. I am feeling newly motivated and ready to go! I will set my goals tomorrow since I don't even know what my weight is right now. See you then! Cynthia

Hi all,
Yep, Max is now 7 years old. He is almost 4'4"! It's crazy how fast they grow.
My goals for this challenge are simple:
Core for the month of March 240 minutes of exercise a week
I would love to get below 170 but I know the weight will land where it will if I follow those guidelines...geez what are those guidelines. I need to go back for a core refresher course.

Too true Cynthia! I think I'm getting one--a refresher course on CORE.
What does everybody think of the new CORE snack rules? Basically, I think it's a pretty good idea for me.
But one thing I am doing now is not being so darn strict on myself. I am easing back into it and having some non-CORE treats with my WPA's each week.
I am also using a little bit of Splenda and a glass of diet pop each day---which I feel are really bad for your health...BUT it's helping me right now.
My joints don't hurt anymore and my back doesn't hurt. I'm still wanting to EAT in the evenings, but getting better each day.

Okay, I'm in. My goals: 1. Earn 24 or more APs per week. 2. No sugar. nosugarnosugarnosugar.
Regarding Core's new snacking guidelines, Sandy...I didn't know there were any (having just rejoined) but I looked 'em up, and, well, they seem reasonable. I think one of the reasons I sometimes don't lose very fast on Core is my frequent, unabashed snacking. I may tweak the guidelines....ie, ff cottage cheese and fruit sounds like a good snack to me, and it's close enough to ff milk and fruit (disclaimer: my personal tweak, not suggesting it for others). But I suppose the proof is in the pudding, which, incidentally, is not an approved snack;)
Karen
ps, Cynthia, It's okay. Hop back on that horse! Today IS a new day!

KAREN!!!! Glad you're here!
I'm not very good with rules. I'd prefer to call them guidelines. I think that's what WW has in mind anyway.
They've even told the leaders that if people are doing fine with the old CORE, to stick with that.
Using good judgment works best, I think.
