Be honest and accountable... either in my journal here or on paper, haven't decided yet. 4. Move, DAILY... I don't recognize the lump I've become since about December 5. It's been very quiet on Kippy's this weekend! Hope that means everyone is out exercising and keeping healthy I'm feeling a little skittish about my couch to 5K program because I've been having some hip pain. Ema/Vita/Barney - anyone else - any suggestions? I did not advance to the 20 minute straight run, I've been repeating the run 8 minutes walk 5 minutes routine for the last few times. I was hoping to get a workout in today but it just didn't happen. Monday my plan is to spin in the morning, especially since DH and I are heading downtown for an event at a hospital where it is appetizers only and I have no idea what will be there so I want to be sure to earn some APs. I'm looking forward to wearing my new Size 8 snazzy pantsuit! Maybe I'll take a picture and attempt to post it. I ordered Steel Cut Oats at a restaurant for lunch today and wasn't too happy. I think I've given them a try now a few times and have found I just don't really like that texture. The regular rolled oats are so much softer and comforting in this cold weather! Maybe in the summer I can try again. Hope everyone had a wonderful weekend! -Beth

Hello everyone:) Interesting weekend for me. I got my kitchen painted Friday (it looks fabulous) and worked like a dog. I was so tired when I finally went to bed that I slept until after 9:00 a.m. Saturday morn. I got to sell kites at our annual "Color the Wind" kite festival. Wow was that beautiful. Lots of kites of all sizes flying over the frozen lake. Amazing!!! Did the usual Saturday errands after the kite festival. Sunday was church.....AND....(drum roll please)....I actually had a good accountable food weekend. My new motto is One Day, and I took each day as it came and focused only on the food for that day. I did just fine. Beth, I bet you look fabulous in your new pantsuit!!! Wear it with pride and STRUT away lol
Have a great day Katie

Morning all!
I had a good, accountable weekend as well. It helped that BOTH of my brunch dates cancelled. One was yoga/brunch (I did the yoga but skipped brunch) and the other was bike/brunch (I skipped both and did a spinning class instead). So my social life's suffering, but I'm actually doing well with my WPA for the week...I've got 10 left and WI on Wednesday.
I also bought my FIRST pair of size 10 pants....yay! Isn't it funny how those sizes can give us such a boost...in a world where women's clothing sizes aren't standardized in any way?
Beth, I'm not a runner and can't advise on the hip pain, but it makes intuitive sense to me to maintain at a level that's less painful, and to move on only with extreme caution. The only deadline for reaching that 5K mark is in your head.
Katie, enjoy your kitchen. I love vibrant colors. Life's too short for white walls.

I'm drooling with envy on the size 8 and size 10 pants. You mean to tell me it's actually possible? Well, blow me away!
That's a great thing to celebrate!
Painting the kitchen--what a job! But it sure feels good to look at the result, I am sure!
We had a birthday party yesterday for my MIL--87 years young! I'll post the photo for you of her. I'd like to look that good right now! I baked her a "Bubble Bath Cake" and it took 2 days for me to make it, cause I'm just learning. But it turned out cute! And I had one little sliver.
I planned ahead for the party and had a big salad w/ff dressing and CORE spaghetti with ff sf jello & fruit. I also had a little diet pop. I didn't feel deprived either.
Have a great CORE week everybody! Report your weigh-ins!

What an adorable cake. Congratulations to you and to your MIL on her birthday. YIPPEE size 10 Vita!!! You are so right that those numbers do give us a boost and that sizes are NOT standardized in any way. Sewing patterns come closer and I have had to do some serious self encouragement to not be upset at the size I have to cut my clothing when making a garment. Although I wear size 10's and 12's when I sew I cut a 16 I do a lot of serious "it's only a number" self talk when sewing. But I love the results of "fit for me" clothing. Had a fairly good day yesterday. Emotional crap going on, but food wise it's good. Emotional crap is being resolved so all in all not too bad. HIHO Katie

My goal:
Lose weight! I'd like to be at my personal goal . . . if not by April 1, by May 1. But for this challenge, I'd like to get part way there.
Beth, take care with that hip. I've been having the exact same problem. Several experienced runners told me it may be in part due to the fact that I often run on the treadmill. I think it somehow messes up your stride, since the belt is moving. I don't have any other options right now, since I'm scared to run in the dark and I must exercise early in the morning. My advice is to just take it easy, do some forms of cardio that are less stressful on your joints, and still run in the 5K. You'll be able to do it. That's my plan, too, and I'm hoping that in a month or two I'll be able to start running outside for the remainder of the spring/summer.
