I did a two day walk (AVON) a couple of years ago. It was an amazing and wonderful experience. Could you write the names, "Alison" and "Kris" for me somewhere? They are always places where you can write down those you want to honor and remember. Good luck. I can't wait to hear all about it.

I am currently starting day 6 back on program. I have so far managed to stick to my goal of an average of 5 non-core points daily and am seeing the scale move a bit already. I am also feeling better and THAT is the main goal for this Here's to another on-program day and a great group to do this challenge with!

Morning!
Next week is really going to be a toughie... i have 5 extra things...one of which will take hours and hours, another two that will just take hours and then the other stuff... that could potentially throw me into a tailspin of bratty eating. so i'm committing right here, right now (as fat boy slim would say) to going grocery shopping TOMORROW, with all the saturday morning crowds i usually avoid like the plague, so i have good stuff in the house.
My weigh in this morning had good news, down 1.8 from last week -- a total suprise given how blubby and fubsy i've been feeling.
question: since I weigh in on friday's does this count as my first HoliSur loss or the baseline from which i'm starting.... not that it REALLY matters!
Have a great day, and if i don't make it back before hand, a great weekend.
sulee
PS... the hungrygirl website is so much fun, and informative! Thanks for the heads up!

Sulee, I think it counts as your first loss. Congratulations, what a wonderful start to this challenge. Geha, it's great to have you back. I love to get another perspective on the program. Feeling better really is the best part of Core. Cynthia, breast cancer affects all of us. My prayers for your friend, her family and you. I know it is very hard, but try to be as normal as possible. She will love to hear of the everyday things in your life. Blessings Awesome goals Everyone. We are ALL going to be successful. I stayed exactly the same at wi last night. I'm very thankful for that, but it was a good boost for this new challenge period. Have a great weekend Katie

Congrats Sulee on your loss. And Kate great job with maintaining.
The visit with my friend went really well. I did some house work, and played with her two year old son which felt good. It just feels so good to do SOMETHING. We mostly just hung around and talked. It was great to re-connect and catch up. I came home feeling satistisfied and sad. That is all I could ask for.
Food was real good yesterday and today should be fine as long as I don't let chinese dinner do me in. I think I will make brown rice, order veggie dish with (non-fried) chicken... that should help.
Take care, Cyn

Good morning! I’ve had a bit of a stomach bug this week, but feeling much better today.
And I’m kicking off the challenge with a 1.5 loss (due, I’m sure, to the stomach bug!). 6.5 more to go.
Cyn – I put Alison and Kris on my list.
Cathy – Sounds like you’re off to a great start with the challenge!
Sulee – Congrats on the loss! I would think it counts as your first loss, not a baseline.

Good afternoon challengers!!
I am doing the HAPPY DANCE today because I was down .8 at WI and that makes a loss three weeks in a row and I think I'm finally out of that plateau I'd been struggling with since July-August. Now I am 131.2 - the lowest weight I have been in probably at least 15 years. And my goal is 6 pounds away. I think it has probably been the spinning classes that has jump started things but whatever it is I am really happy about it.
So.... I treated myself to a gym membership after my meeting! I had been buying the 10-pack of classes and renewing them when they ran out but my DH and I figured out to have an annual membership is about the same as I'm paying now with a lot more benefits (right now I can just do the classes, I don't have access to any of the cardio machines). Needless to say, I am feeling great today.
Congrats to kate, Sulee and Cathy on a great week! And to everyone on the challenge just for sticking with it. The next few weeks are going to be tough - we can do this!
I'll post the new stats soon.
Have a great weekend!!
-Beth

I find that by dinner time it is later than I want to eat the last few days so have been having only a piece of fruit, milk and wine...think I need to rethink this! The wine makes me want MORE wine and that is probably not good in and of itself and especially not good with so little in my stomach. That said...I am over halfway through the first weeka nd the scale was lower this morning than when I started...YES! Hubby leaves tonight and then I will be here on my own for five days and will have NO EXCUSE to not eat CORE...not that he is a reason not to anyway. Was in Beirut yesterday. The roads are sad...bridges are gone, traffic is horrible and as a result I was thrilled to get back home again! I did find some pretty blue glass mugs, a corner pole type four-shelf thing for the shower and also found books and a weight watcher magazine I had been looking for so it was worth the traffic hassle, I suppose. On to another day on program and NO non-core points for the next three days unless I work up a big sweat exercising

Hi challengers!
Last Saturday, I was at my Halloween goal of 135. I do fear that tomorrow I will be up significantly from that, as I have been a junk-food vaccuum this week. So my goals for this challenge are:
Get down to 133 on my home scale Exercise 4 times per week Drink at least ten cups of plain water each day

Geha, Congratulations on a great week. I always enjoy the different foods I eat when DH isn't around. Like you said, he doesn't really stop me from choosing core, but I do notice that I cook differently when he is not here. Congrats, Beth and Panda too. Awesome that you both keep faithful, and strong. WTG Coco, you'll get in that exercise walking to the bathroom with all that water. lol Great goals. You can do it.
No big plans for us this weekend. Just cleaning and stuff. Stuff I didn't get done yesterday. Grocery shopping this morning. I usually make a menu and write a list from there so I'll be checking out the recipe threads this morning too. Have a great weekend everyone Katie

Hi all,
Well yesterday went great until about 4PM then I dived into crackers and then the halloween candy head first. What gives? I need to focus on a healthy afternoon snack (yogurt and fruit is always a winner) that doesn't make me binge. But it was just a one afternoon detour and I won't let myself be thrown off by it. Core and exercise today. Tomorrow should be good as well.

Hi all,
I had a much-needed wake-up call this morning. I was up 4.5 pounds from last Saturday!!!!! Well deserved, I must add.
When I stepped on the scale last week, I was pleasantly surprised, to say the least. I had been sick for going on two weeks and hadn't been exercising. I had indulged in some treats. But I guess because I was sick, I really hadn't been eating too much, plus it was my "low weight" time of the month last week.
But I took that low number as an excuse to continue to go off track, even as I was feeling a little bit better and my appetite was returning to normal. I totally "earned" this week's weight gain.
After weighing in and attending my meeting, I am once again inspired. Today, we are cooking dinner for my parents and some friends. We had been planning a casual pizza dinner, with apple crisp for dessert. My inspiration has been to add soup to the menu (found a delicious looking minestrone on this site), to make "my" pizza with a whole wheat crust and Core toppings, and to make a really interesting winter fruit salad, in addition to the apple crisp, for dessert. Plus I am serving some Core appetizers. Right at this moment, I feel like I would be perfectly happy with no pizza, and I am definitely not going to have any apple crisp. I just don't feel the desire. After all, I have been eating plenty of sweets all week.
I'll let you all know how it goes.

YES!!!
This morning was official weigh-in day for me. I have had seven days on program (again) and dropped four pounds (as I usuall do the first week back on program). I can't say I was 100% on Core but am thrilled to see the scale down that much this morning and have incentive to do even better this coming week!

I am happy to report that I was down 2.2 at this weeks meeting! First time in a while that the scale moved down more than tiny fractions of a pound, and that I had a loss two weeks in a row (last week was down 0.2). Whooo Hooo!
Despite the weather turning colder, I have two new gadgets that have me enthused about walking for AP's. My new iPod (which I won in a raffle and on which I have loaded two good walking for exercise CD's) and a Garmin GPS running trainer (that I got with point from my credit card). Have to tell Vita about this gadget--it comes in a model that is designed for bikers. Very cool. Made me look up the Couch-5K beginning running program and think about it, though it would be kinder for me knees to do it 20 lbs from now and just walk (or bike when I can get my bike from DH who has largely appropriated it) aggressively for now.
Great to read about so many others successes.
