Hello, PreChas! Welcome to Josiebell! I'm back after a long weekend off the boards. In the middle of it, I had my WI, and learned that I'm up 0.6 lbs. Bummer. I have been working hard on my fitness and food, so all I can think is that it is "in the bank." Hoping to see it reflected on the scale soon. Meanwhile, no surrender! I had a great spin class this morning, and also taught a 45 minute self-defense class, with lots of movement. So my ticker is going up quickly. I'm 95% of the way to my Gold Medal, after 2 years of gradually increasing fitness activity. I should earn it this month, all things being equal. Yay! Can you tell I'm trying to be positive??? Hugs to all. Keep moving!

Eveheart, I just had the same thing happen. I always start my week on Monday. Today when I logged in the last exercise day was 3 days ago, so today looks like day 2 not day one and all of the other workouts went away...... Oh well, a new week and I did my circuit training today! I am officially down 1 lb!

Feel the burn, baby!!!
I just survived and thrived through the hardest Pilates workout I've ever done. There were only two things that I couldn't do, and I'm doing the "advanced" verson on one or two things!!! Aquacise used to be my favorite exercise class, but now Pilates is Number 1 and Yoga is Number 2. I feel more inspired by my Pilates and Yoga instructors and classmates than by the old hens who are in the aquacise class.
I sorta got my points problem figured out - I'm treating "day one" as Monday, "day two" as Tuesday, etc. PreCha sent me an answer to my email that didn't make sense LOL. As long as I get the "week" in, I'll be fine. I know how the problem got started in the first place, which was that I wasn't on the computer for the last two days of my first 6 weeks, and when I logged in the last two days, I did Friday first, then Thursday. Dumb computer!

Good morning, PreChas! I got in a great spin class today. I love seeing the ticker going up, up, up!
Hope you're all having a great Core day!
Here's a QOTD: What's your favorite piece of fitness equipment or fitness apparel? Tell us about it -- maybe we'll learn some good tips from each other!
AOTD: My new Polar F4 heart rate monitor! It records several pertinent statistics about each workout, including my heart rate max, length of time my heart rate was in the training zone, calories burned, and duration of the workout. It's helping me to work "smarter" in my spin classes.

I really felt motivated today to move when i read something in runner's world where if you eat an extra 1300 cals a week, say by drinking a juice everyday, you would need to runa half marathon to burn it off. I found that graphic. I don't drink juice (even pre-core it wasn't on my list!) but the notion of THAT much effort to counteract something seemingly so inocuous was dramatic to me...
that said, i put in 590 points for the prez between dance, pilates and a good toot on the treadmill.
oh yeah, i compared the results on precha's page with cals/hour and they were pretty different. I usually think of running as being 100cals/mile ( one ap) and cph was giving me 150...which amounts to a whole extra point, for two miles, if you see what i mean.

Yeah, if it's important to you, do NOT use the PreCha points as a calculation of calories burned. Caloriesperhour.com or a heart rate monitor will be more accurate.
And to figure your APs, use caloriesperhour.com (count 1 AP per 100 cals burned) or, if you're an eTooler or online member, the WW website's Activity Points calculator.
And wow, Sulee, that info about juice is amazing. It makes perfect sense to me, I just never thought about it that way before.

My AOTD: my favorite fitness thingamajig is my yoga strap. It's a major advantage when it comes to working from the beginner level and building flexibility where there was none, while keeping a correct posture.

I just got home from a kick-butt yoga class. Wow, I feel sooooo good right now. I must have an endorphin high or something. Before class I walked for 30 minutes on the treadmill. I set the incline at 4.0, and kept the speed low enough (3 mph) so that my heart rate stayed at the low part of my training zone. I work at the high end in my 3 spin classes each week, so I'm trying to mix it up.
Hope you all are moving today!

Hi, PreChas! Hope you're all doing well. I just upped my PreCha challenge points because I realized that I'm cranking right along. I'm also 96% of the way to my Gold Medal! Feeling good about that.
Off to spin class this morning, and I'll do some upper body weights later.

Greetings, everyone,
I got home late last night and am rushed to get to work today. I'll catch up on posts and update tickers when I can. It's been a hectic few days, and I tried to stay active. It's not as easy at Mom's as I always think it will be. We had a great visit, and that's what counts.
Keep up the good work, PreCha's.

Hi, PreChas! I injured myself today in spin class -- sprained ankle. It's going to take a while to heal, but when it does, I'll be back on the bike (and I'll be getting me some new shoes with clips, thanks to Kathy's advice). Argh.

aw HipMom...total bummer. remember this grain: rest - ice - compression - elevation. That RICE really helps for ankle sprains.
Hang in there!
