Breakfast today was shredded wheat with sliced banana.
Beautiful weather today – drove 1-1/2 hours to get a haircut (friend has done it for about 25 years). Stopped for a few groceries at my favorite grocery store that we don’t have in our area – Kroger’s. They have so many Core-friendly items that aren’t available locally for me. I didn’t stop for lunch, but picked up a container of fresh assorted fruit (cut up) and ate that in the car on the way home.
At the grocery store I bought chicken shish-kabobs (they were on sale and cheaper than buying the ingredients), fresh turkey tenders, salmon (also on sale), ff feta crumbles – tomato & basil flavored, ff cottage cheese, fresh veggies for grilling (yellow squash, zucchini, cauliflower, mushrooms). I also had the butcher cut a top cut sirloin steak.
Dinner this evening will be grilled chicken kabobs, grilled mushrooms and grilled cauliflower.
Will marinate the steak for tomorrow’s lunch or dinner.

Scale still shows 129 this morning, so chances are I’ll be able to maintain that until my Wednesday meeting WI. I don’t obsess about the scale, but I do like to use it as a feedback tool.
The steak is marinating and we’ll grill it for dinner this evening.
Breakfast was shredded wheat, sliced banana and FF milk.
Lunch was leftover chicken kabobs with grilled cauliflower & mushrooms, and a salad of lettuce, ff feta and oil-free lemon/dill dressing
I made a Spinach Pie this morning and had a slice midmorning.
Am doing housework today so I hope to burn some calories.
Last night I bought a new workout DVD – The Firm, and a jump rope. I used to love to jump rope and I recall that it was a pretty good cardio workout. I just bought it for fun – just to see if I was still coordinated enough to use it! LOL

S – Will be a homemade chocolate smoothie with 1 tsp peanut butter (will count points) – mmmmm

Hi, CL! Yes, I know it is possible to lose weight without exercise...but I don't do so well that way. I never stay completely Core so I need the APs. Maybe I should learn how to eat and lose weight, ya think? I will, I will ... I'm trying not to stress myself over it. Slowly but surely and I mean slowly. It took me almost 23 months to lose my 23 pounds so I will take the 5 I want off now just as slowly...hopefully learning along the way. What Firm DVD did you buy? I love and miss my Firm tapes...I will start on them slowly again next week. Have a good day!

Had a great WI at my meeting - down another 0.7#! I officially met my mini-goal and I am now under 130 (my deadline was by the end of the month). I was bummed a little at first, because the meeting receptionist accidentally logged my loss as -0.4 which meant I was down a total of -9.8. I couldn't believe I missed my goal by 0.2#! But then, I got home and looked at my booklet and realized it was incorrect. I've sent her an email and we'll get it officially corrected at next week's meeting.
My WW goal is 128 (the top of my WW range). I'm now within 1.5# of my goal. How exciting! ;D ;D ;D ;D

Great job, CL!!!! Congrats. Enjoy your Firm DVD and other tapes too. That's what I've got to do, get exercising again. I have both a DVD and a VCR too! I won't give up all my tapes yet, I wait until they are worn out. I did just replace a lot of my Firm tapes with DVDs.

Thanks to both of you!
I have 1-1/2 pounds to go to get to my WW goal (the top of my range). My personal goal is 124 (4 pounds less). I attend meetings, so I set my WW goal at the high end of my range so that I can stop paying for meetings sooner.
In actuality, I have no idea at what weight I'm really going to feel comfortable - no way of knowing right now when I'll be "there." So, I'll shoot for 124 and see how I feel and look at that point.
I'm really trying to be faithful about exercising (something I haven't been consistent with in the past). Today I bought 3 more Leslie Sansone DVD's - I'm hoping that by having variety, I won't get bored. Today I did 25 minutes (1 mile) with 3 pound hand weights. Tomorrow I plan to do 2 miles, and work my way up to 4-5 miles. We'll see if my body is up to it tomorrow!

I bought several Leslie Sansone walking DVD's and am up to a 3 mile walk with weights. I finally feel as if I'm back on the road to being fit. I didn't think I'd enjoy an exercise DVD, but I like the fact that I can do it comfortably in my own home whenever I want. I haven't used any of my AP's - not brave enough to do that yet. I may when I reach my WW goal, but I just don'e feel the need at this point.

I did it! I lost 1.8 pounds at my WI today - I'm now at my WW goal! No more paying for meetings, as long as I stay within 2 pounds of my current weight. My next weight goal is 124 ... ultimately would like to be at 120.

Beth & Cathy- Thanks so much! I'm so amazed at how easy it is to lose on Core - I don't know why I let myself forget ... slacking off and gaining all the weight back after making goal the first time was a real eye-opener. In order to keep the weight off, I have to keep doing all the things I did to get here ... the rest of my life. It's nice to know that I now have the key to maintaining, but it's also a little depressing to know that I have to be "on my toes" the rest of my life as well.
---------------------------
DH and I are spending the weekend with our DS1 who lives about 2-1/2 hours away. The weather should be gorgeous and we've asked him to locate several walking/hiking trails we can tackle. The area has tons of healthy restuarants, so that won't be a problem. I wish we had time to visit his gym as guests and spend an hour or so there. (We live in a very rural area and don't have many local amenities.) I'm like a kid in the proverbial candy store when we visit him! He's a health nut, so staying on plan won't be a challenge - and, I'll take the ingredients for my homemade smoothie. I have one each evening and they've become a way of life for me.
Went shopping for new jeans and am happy to report that I dropped one size (2 sizes if I buy the stretch jeans). LOL! It's nice to be able to wear clingy clothes again - when you're only 5', loose clothes make you look that much larger, unfortunately.
I bought a lightweight velour jogging/sweat suit - am debating whether it will be my winter WI outfit (w/o the jacket). Had silly thought - remember those pants with the zip off legs that turn into shorts? Wouldn't that be ideal to weigh in? LOL
Am making pumpkin muffins to take to DS1. I may pick up a can of pumpkin and make pumpkin custard for me ... or, just wait and have my smoothie!
----------------------------
At work, WW At Work meetings may be offered to employees. I'll attend since they'll be so convenient, but because I'm Lifetime, I won't count toward their headcount. It will be nice to continue my journey with my co-workers - and, will be neat to see their progress as well. Even though I only have to WI once a month, I'll continue to attend my regular weekly meetings, though - it's such a routine and I really feel the accountability of meeting WI's is essential for me. I'm convinced my downfall (when I ganed all my weight back) was when I stopped attending meetings.

CL you rock!!! Thanks for your note in my journal. Yeah we all have to stay on our toes for the rest of our lives! LOL but isn't it great that we know how to do it now. It is the meetings and support here that keep me going too. I think those zip-off pants would be great for wintertime WIs! I wear pretty lightweight clothes to WI in the winter, with a very heavy warm coat! ;D Hope you had a great time visiting your DS.

Here I go again - another restart on Core - restart #2! I returned to WW meetings on 4/30 and am so glad I did. I WI at 142.2 at my meeting and at my first week WI last night, I lost 1.2#. So, I'm down to 141 currently. My goal to get back to Lifetime is 128 - the top of my range. I know I can do it on Core. And, I know why I gained back my weight - I didn't STICK TO IT! I have to continue to do the things that got me to goal. Will be back in a bit! Glad to be back!!!!
