Well, last night was Pizza night #3. In retrospect I should have indulged on Saturday night at the restaurant where it was hot and fresh. Usually my cousin orders THIN lowfat veggie but she ordered thick lowfat veggie so I estimated 6 points for each of the slices (luckily they were all cut in half so there were 16 slices to each pie, not 8) and then I had a small slice of the REAL stuff and estimated 9 points. I had 6 AP's from spinning yesterday morning so all in all I did okay and had the points for it. And it was good but not great. I didn't need 3 pieces but ate them anyway. Oh well, hopefully we're done for the pizza nights for awhile.
So far today...
B: Coffee w/ skim milk, Fage FF yogurt w/ baked apple S: oatmeal
No workout today, had a meeting of the parent committee at school this morning. Should be able to get in a workout tomorrow, probably the treadmill at home.

I think you did remarkably well for the temptation of *3* pizza nights in a row! What choices would the pre-core you have made? Pat yourself on the back and notice how strong you are. And welcome to a new day!

3 pizza nights, plus eating out besides? You did fantastic. Thank you so much for taking on the new challenge. You are so encouraging, I know you'll do a great job. Katie

I truly love Core. I do.
Last night DH was working late so I was on my own for dinner. I defrosted a piece of chicken from the freezer, and when it defrosted I saw about half of it had freezer burn - YUCK! So, I made a veggie burger w/ sauted mushrooms and sliced avocado, and WW pasta w/ FF tomato sauce and FF feta cheese. All Core, all on plan, completely satisfying.
Someone said to me the other day that Core didn't work for them because there wasn't any grab and go stuff. I guess I've never really found that to be a problem, worse comes to worse Starbucks and even McDonalds now has fruit cups. Oh well, her loss.
I have yoga from 1:00-2:00 and I was sad to see my gym doesn't do a Thursday morning spinning class! I was hoping to get one more good cardio blitz in before WI tomorrow. My DH found me some spinning shoes on Ebay so I'm excited for them to arrive. Everyone says it makes a huge difference.
Hope everyone has a great day!! It is 28 degrees here in Chicago - BRRR...

Hi Beth,
I think it's great how you are approaching your weight loss in a variety of ways... living in the real world (i.e. 3 pizza parties), doing sweat fest exercise and also nourishing the insides with yoga, and eating well even when the chips are down (darn freezer burn!).
Did I read a while back that you are an east coaster re-located to the midwest? If that's true we're in the same boat.
Keep up the good work!

Yes, yes! I've been all over the east coast. Born in Brookly, grew up in NJ, went to graduate school in Washington, D.C. and met DH there. We then spent 7 years in Boston, got married there and our son was born there. We relocated back to Chicago 3 years ago, my DH is from here originally and he has a very big and close family that is here.
Where are you from and where are you now Sulee?

Hi Beth,
interesting that we've been on similar geographic paths!
Born and raised in midtown Manhattan, moved to NH but kept strong nyc ties as my family is there and that's the hub of dance, which is what i do. I did my graduate work in western Mass and taught outside of boston for a few years. Then two and a half years ago i got a job in Nebraska. in my mind i'm just "on assignment" here as it feels REALLY far from all my friends and family and everything else i know. But i have a truly great job so it's not like i'm looking a gift horse in the mouth! But i must say being a single/divorced woman here is not the easiest thing! But I'm a pretty social bee so I've not had trouble meeting lots of nice people.
I often wished i was still married when i started this adventure to the midwest. I think i would have been more fun with someone to share it with. it's cool that you moved to someplace where you have a ready-made social network. (this is of course assuming that you are into dh's fam!) But even with your son, I presume you meet people through his school etc. I mean, all those pizza parties... it sounds like you've fit right in!!
what did you do your graduate work in? I LOVE washington and often wish i could find work there/maryland/virginia, if I can't be in NYC. it's close to NY and Urban... my two main criteria.
whew that was a long reply!
Keep up your good work. Maybe we can meet sometime when i'm stuck for seemingly endless hours at o'hare!!

Monday, Monday! Always a chance to start fresh, even tohugh my WI day is Friday I always do my "best" with food choices Monday-Thursda. I'm sure I'm not alone in this.
So far today: B: Coffee w/ skim milk, leftover egg white omelet w/kalamatta olives, spinach, tomato and REAL feta (3) L: split pea soup, 2 slices WW bread (1), turkey, mustard
My spinning shoes arrived over the weekend, I'm excited to try them out tomorrow.
DH is working late tonight so I picked up a piece of roasted chicken when I got the soup and will make some roasted butternut squash along with it. Need to get some water and fruit in today!
I am feeling a little down in the dumps today. My stepmother is very ill and my Dad has a lot on his plate to say the least. It is hard to be a half a country away, they are in NJ.
Hope everyone has a good one...

Sorry to hear of your ill step mom. My prayers for them and you. Having sick family is just difficult no mater what the distance, but I think particularly difficult when there is a distance and you want to be there, but know you can't just pack up and go. Take care Katie

Unfortunately she has been fighting this cancer for 2 years and the writing is pretty much on the wall here. She is a fighter though, and has been thorugh hell and back and hell and back again. My Mom died of ovarian cancer 7 years ago so the fact that my Dad is going through this again is just heartbreaking for all of us. We will be visiting Thanksgiving and it will not be an easy trip. Thanks Night and Katie for your good wishes.
Anyway, I'm having a great Tuesday so far and did a great spinning class today with my favorite instructor. Afterwards she took a few minutes to show me how to get on and off the bike with my new spinning shoes. I am so excited to try them out tomorrow!
B: 2 eggs, FF cheese & chives, coffee w/ skim milk L: brown rice sushi w/ salmon & avocado, edammame, watermelon S: oatmeal w/ chopped pear, skim milk
Going out to dinner to a seafood restaurant so it shouldn't be too hard to stay on Core. I may splurge for a glass of wine!

Oh...I'm so sorry--especially sad about your father going through this twice. Thanksgiving may be painful, but I'm sure that they will benefit from spending time with you and being around your sweet, caring presence. I will continue to hold them in my thoughts.

Happy Saturday!
I'm feeling a bit bummed out about the 2.2 pound gain I had yesterday but I'm glad I had the Size 6 pants purchase afterwards to keep things in perspective. So far the weekend is going pretty well. Just got back from the gym and earned 3 AP's so I'm happy with that. We're going to Dave & Buster's tonight for DH's birthday (do these birthday celebrations ever end?) but I just looked at the menu online and looks like they have salmon and steak so at least I won't have to be non-core for dinner.
Hope to go spinning tomorrow morning!

I am cautiously excited about having a 3.2 lb. loss on Friday and hitting the 30 pound mark! Cautious, because for some reason when I have a big loss one week I have a gain the following week and this week is Thanksgiving and we will be away and it is TOM, etc. In any case, I have NEVER been this weight (130) in my 30s or probably my 20s either so I just can't believe it is here. I have been thinking about raising my goal (which is 125 - now 5 pounds away) because the scale hadn't been moving but now I have a new personal goal for myself which is to make goal by my birthday (Jan. 8). It would be awesome and unfortunately the next several weeks are challenging with the holidays. But I am motivated!!!!!!! We went bowling last night with friends and my friend "starts" WW every other week so it seems and doesn't stick with it or actually join, she is just doing it on her own. She was saying how I was so "good" and I never go off, etc. And she asked if I ever just want out for a nice dinner and not thought about WW or what I was eating and I truly answered no. Not that I don't ever go over WPAs but I always am thinking about the choice I will make and the consequences of that choice. I guess that's the difference between a diet and a lifestyle change. Monday is Spinnning. Tuesday is manicure Unfortunately I will not get much if any exercise in this week because we leave for NJ on Tuesday. I will bring my sneakers just in case the opportunity presents itself! I'd love to at least get out for a walk or two.

What a great answer Beth. Some people see it as obsession, but I think your observation is correct. I truly do feel that I've had a lifestyle change. I'm excited for you and your motivation to reach goal by your birthday. What a great present to yourself. Take care this week as you travel. Katie
