today went unbelievably fast. The boss kept us hopping and being Homecoming tonight, every girl in town came to buy hair ribbons. Am looking forward to having the week end off, even though there is a big meeting at church that I need to be at for part of the day. Breakfast: usual lunch: salad with lots of veggies and fake crab. Orange. 2 slices poppyseed bread (gift from special needs friend. Can't say no to that one) Supper: plain baked potato, chicken breast, real sour cream 1T. salsa, froom Wendi's. I ordered an ultimate chicken sand. without the bun and they didn't give me the lettuce and tomato. quite disappointed, but it was good and filling anyway. snack: fruit smoothie.
I was going to splurge on a candy bar at work today. A chocolate covered salted nut roll, but it was a whopping 6points. So I had a 2pt 100calorie pack instead. Don't even feel deprived. so glad I made the right choice.

Hi Katelight,
I read a lot of the journals, and use many of the menus; not very imaginative, myself. This is a bit OT, but did you grow up in Iowa? And do you like living there? I've met many people from there who say they really love it. paula

Paula, thanks for visiting my journal..... not very interesting reading I'm afraid lol. Yes I grew up here in Iowa. I love it, but I don't have anything to compare it to either. I grew up on the farm that my Dad has lived on since he was 4 years old. He is now 76. So I have a strong attachment to the area. We are located about half way between Des Moines Ia and Minneapolis MN, on I35. I think the country has a big misconception of Iowa, not every one is a farmer, or a meth dealer. Unfortunately, our area is a huge area for the manufacturing of meth. Very sad. Clear Lake is the place where Buddy Holly, The Big Bopper, and Ritchie Valens all played their last concert, and died in a plane crash just outside of town. We have a big celebration to remember their music every year. I've never gone, but it sure brings people from all over the world to our little town. Have a fantastic week Paula, and thanks for checking in on me.

Well, except for the meth part, it sure sounds wonderful. I guess we all have our evil to deal with. Our newspaper had an article where someone had done a survey to see which state was most polite--just in meeting you on the street, as well as driving. You'll be happy to know that Iowa won both times! You lucky thing!

LOL too funny yea friendly Iowa. What a wonderful day. The weather was beautiful, we had a great new fall Jazz and wine festival downtown and our niece got married. Breakfast: the usual Lunch: toasted ffched.cheese, salsa, avacado sandwich on 2pt rye bread. Pineapple supper: Wedding reception. chicken, au gratin potatoes, greenbeans, dinner roll, fruit compote salad, fruit punch. 2 slices wedding cake. Well the chicken and greenbeans were core. I have no idea how many points for the rest. We had a wonderful time at the reception. Our son from Minneapolis was able to come, and our girls that live close by went also. Unfortunately our oldest son, who lives in Wisconsin, was not able to come home. We missed having him with. We were the only ones from the bride's father's family that were at the wedding. The rest of the family live very far away and were unable to attend for many different reasons, so we were especially glad that we could go and represent the rest of the family. The bride's parents have both overcome big health issues in the past year and a half, they both looked wonderful and healthy. What a glorious celebration in so many ways.
