HI! I dont know if you will see this since the thread is so long but I would like to introduce myself! My name is Devin and I am 25. I have 2 little boys, the youngest is 3 months. So Im trying to get the baby weight off AGAIN. I had just lost 50 pounds when I got pregnant again. I did it the first time just by working out and it took a little longer than I want to do this time. SO I joined WW 6 weeks ago and did the points. Well I lost 4.4 and gained 4.2. So I am trying CORE and I love it!!! I have lost 5 pounds in the first week alone so Im very excited to see what I can do!
Nice to meet you all!

Greetings! I am new to all this computer stuff but not to WW. I lost weight back when I was in my mid 30s. That is where I learned points and portions and even worked as a receptionist - but I was not quite to goal and the stress of weighing in and not losing caused me to feel a total failure. I quit my job, which I loved, before they could tell me I could not work (because I was 7 lb.s from goal) and eventually and inevitably gained all my wieght back. And then some. Life goes on. I returned to college and got my degree. My 3 children grew up. I decided I would be happy as a ft woman - after all - look at those beautiful clothes they make now. So I maintained a weight of 222lbs. (I'm 5'9") and made my peace in size 18s.....if they were cut right and did not have a rgualr waistline....enter middle age. Gall bladder is causing problems. I ignore it. Could it be my lousy eating habits - heavily laden with fat? My doctor has a weight problem and does not say much. However, in June of 2004 I have a glal bladder scan which shows stones - but I am not in trouble - yet. Weight in June 222. Good enough. Sept. 2004 I go to gyno for regular check-up - weight is 232....whoa! not maintaining anymore.....at work I join the "Wellness Committee" and decide my coworkrs can use WW at Work program. In checking it out I discover Core....all my issues with points and meetings and being angry at myself for sitting thru yet another lecture I could give about losing weight and tips for low point lunches.....are answered by 2 words - Core and online. I join. I begin. I have simple goals - I will lose weight, I will reduce my BP meds, I will wear a normal size 14. I lose and lose and lose. I am amazed....I slowly enter the world of message boards. I read and find kindred spirits in Kippy, Jeddomom, Chocokatzen, and many more. I read their stats - I see tall women moving towards goals I relate to - did I mention I am blessed with many short friends who want to weight 120?? Somehow this discourages me. but I am losing. I wear my pants rolled up at the waist. I have a GIANT gall bladder attack.....having lost 30 some lbs....I have GB removed. I lose some more....I read more. I reply. Mainly from my computer at work whcih for whatever reason only allows me to reply in short messages....so here I am - unloading my story to you all. But you are all part of my successes and how I have learned to use Core to not only lose weight but to make it part of my life - forever. Thank you all~ Carol B. p.s. Did I mention I have the world's most beautiful grandchildren? I am m&mgrams on the WW boards....after Maddie & Matthew - which is another story....

Hi all,
My name is Lissa (that's short for Melissa), I'm 31, married, no kids, work full time as a Labor & Delivery nurse in Northern Minnesota.
I have had a weight problem since befroe puberty. I grew up an only child with a super-skinny mom who was always watching what I ate, and giving me guilt trips for my weight.
My "peak thin" occured sometime in college (thanks to ww's fat and fiber plan, circa early 90's). Needless to say it didn't last long. Peak fat was April 2001 (my honeymoon), 215 pounds. To this day I dislike looking at my wedding photos. Thanks to many trips through ww, I worked my way down to the mid 160's in October of 2003. I never hit my goal weight, got discouraged, and gave up. I started Core on July 13th, at 202 pounds.
The plan is very different than any "diet" I have ever done. I have to say I like it a lot. Fresh quality produce is rare here "up north", except for a few weeks in July (like now). I have been all over the fruit, and loving it. I felt pretty guilty about the quantities that I ate the first few days, but that's getting better (and the portions smaller). I hope this works as well for me as it has for so many of you!
Your experience is an inspiration to me! Keep posting!
Lissa

Hi, everyone!
It's been a long time since I've been here. I quit WW for awhile (had hip replacement surgery) and rejoined WW 3 weeks ago. I did Flex for the first two weeks and am now ready to come back to Core.
Today is my first day back on Core, and I feel really good about it.
So, you'll be seeing me around more! It is great to be back!! ;D

Hi,
I'm Betty, 50 years old, married with two sons, 17 & 19 and live in Myrtle Beach. I work full time and spend whatever free time I have with my sons and husband of 25 years. I did WW about 6 years ago and lost to goal and beyond....45 pounds! And kept it off for almost two years, then I hurt my knee which gave me a reason not to go to the gym. Then I had a hysterectomy last year, which gave me a new reason not to go to the gym and start eating like before WW. Needless to say, all of the weight I lost I put back on and some more. I started WW at Work in Jan 2005 and have lost 20 pounds...yea! We have a great support group but they are all on FLEX. I'm a very slow loser and my leader suggested CORE which I have been doing for about three weeks. Well sorta doing CORE, i'm getting better acquainted with the do's and don't of CORE. The first week was great and I lost 3 pounds the most lost ever in one week for me. The last two weeks have been a challenge and I have gained back the weight I lost. Eating non-core foods and tweaking a little too much. I do like CORE though because it's learning how to eat healthier and learn how to recognize the full point, which is something I really, really need to learn. I hope to be at goal by the end of the year, make exercise a routine like before, get off the BP meds that I had to start in the spring and just be healthier person.
I found your site surfing the web and hope to get some CORE meal ideas, recipes and tips. Currently I'm 30 pounds from goal. And the one thing I have learned from WW is not never quit, just bounce back and keep going..........Betty

Hi! Another newbie here. I just decided to try Core 2 days ago and since I haven't been on the Core scavenger hunt at the grocery store yet, I've not been doing too well. I am not discouraged though. I feel better with the healthier choices I'm making!
I live in Central Kentucky (4 months), but I am originally from Nashville, TN (I miss home). I am 31 years old, married to the most wonderful man (7 years), and waiting to lose this doggone weight to conceive a little one. I've been on WW off and on for the past 2 years (more off than on). This time, I'm for real. Core has really triggered an interest bulb in me.
Anyway, that's me--hope to meet many of you soon on the boards! I look forward to all the help and encouragement that I can get!
Smooches!

I am Stephanie 27 have one 3 year old dd and married to my highschool sweetie for going on 9 years this January! He is in the Air Force and we are currently living in England until 2008. I started flex plan in February and was losing decently but making poor choices. I started at 149 (I am 5'2) pounds and got down to 134 by May....then I have been living in my hometown with family while DH is deployed to Kuwait! Hard to count points when you are not doing the cooking....so got back up to like 145. I officially started core on the 30th of August and put 142 as my starting weight. I would like to first make it to 125 and see from there how much more I should/could lose. I am loving core so far and will love it more when I have more freedom to cook (in my own home! We go back Sept 29th!). I hope to see the 120's by Christmas! I think that is a very do-able goal!

Hi, Stephanie. I just wanted to comment because my stats are very close to yours. I'm 5'2" also. I started Core last year on August 31, and by Christmas I was around 124 or so. I have been up and down since then, but that's my own fault and not the reason I'm writing this. I just wanted to tell you it's very doable to get there by the holidays.
Good luck!

Hi Everyone. I'm Tracy and I am new to core. It will be 2 weeks on Tuesday. I have to say that I love it already.
I'm 30, single and no kids and live in California. I have been on Flex twice but got sick of the journalling, counting and processed foods. Finally I have found something that will last for a lifetime and I'm happy about that.
I am also glad to find a community where people care about what they are putting into their bodies and aren't afraid to admit that. I like the way y'all think.

Hi! I am Cara and a SAHM to two boys ages 2 and 1 (what were we thinking) Anyway I was 10lbs away from goal when I got pregnant with son #1, gained 40lbs (eat whatever I wanted because I was pregnant right?) after I gave birth to a 10lb baby I lost about 20lbs and got pregnant again 4mos after son #1....started the same eating pattern and got digestatinal diebetes and had to take insulin shots in my stomach while pregnant with son #2. I returned to WW last Aug and have played to much because I have only lost 10lbs since being pregnant. So now I am really thinking about switching to core. Thanks for all of your stories! p.s. I have been around WW all of my life..my mom has been a leader for over 25 years...so why hasn't it clicked for me? By the way she loves Core too!
