DH and I rarely go to the movies..... don't really know why, I like seeing movies on a big screen. But we have HBO, and Blockbuster is 5 minutes away..... We recently rented "Ray", and it was excellent, IMO. I was surprised that Jamie Foxx was so good, I never thought of him as a serious actor (just a comedian).

DH and I went to see March of the Penguins, a documentary about emperor penguins in the South Pole. It was great last week-end when the heat index was over 100.

My daughter and her husband did not like Mr. and Mrs. Smith. Her husband said it isn't even a good rental. I was not going to rent it. Now I am wondering. Anymore opinions?

The last movie I saw was "Wedding Crashers" Very Funny!! We usually go every week to the movies, but we've been in a bit of a slump lately.

I saw Mr. and Mrs. Smith with a 20-year-old (I'm 47), and we both thoroughly enjoyed it. Has anyone seen The Island? I'm glad I saw it before seeing any of the reviews, which give too much of the plot away, I think. I really enjoyed it.

I saw Red Eye last weekend -- it was good, I thought, though it lasted barely over an hour. I was anxious going into the theater, so it suited my mood ;-)

Hmmm....seems I'm the only one seeing movies these days.....
I saw The Exorcism of Emily Rose yesterday. I enjoyed it -- anyone else seen it? Does anyone know the name of the girl the story was based on? It must not be Emily Rose, because I googled that and didn't find anything. I vaguely remember the news reporting the jury verdict, and it seems it wasn't that long ago.

KeliCAN, I think People magazine did an article about the movie in their recent issue (with Kirstie Alley on cover), but I can't recall the name of the young woman.
I saw Wedding Crashers recently. Thought it was cute (not earthshakingly funny, but cute).
I agree with the above poster's recommendation of the Notebook. What a sweet story.

we rented The truth about Charlie. It is a remake of Charade. I thought it was a weird movie, not sure if it was the way it was filmed or the way it was edited. Good story line, but strange movie

My kids convinced us to buy "Robots." Wish we'd just rented it. Not that great. But I do love Robin Williams, though even he can't quite redeem the movie. I give it a B-.

We went and saw "Serenity" last night and I really enjoyed it. It's a sci-fi but kind of flippant and fun. Lots of drama/gore/but it actually had a story line and well written dialogue.
