I wanna know what kinds of music gets your heart pumping! Do you grab the ipod and start playing something special??
And no, I don't have an ipod...but dang, I sure wish I did!

I just got a new Palm Pilot which allows me to save and play MP3s, so I'm dying for your music recommendations, too! Tune me in, people!

I spend a lot of time on the treadmill and stationary bike and Zydeco music keeps me moving. I especially like Queen Ida and Her Bon Temps Zydeco Band, and Beausoleil. I don't understand what they're saying, but they do sound good singing it.
I'd like some suggestions, too. Thanks. Becky

i'm actually an group exercise instructor (aka aerobics) and my fav music comes from SHAPE magazine, they have different decades and speeds ie 70,80, or hard rock...the best part is that it is all the original artists just cut for aerobics (4 count and continuous) and they start slower and speed up and then slow back down which is good for working out. another pretty affordable set i found at Sam's club, it was just called fitness music. it has 3 CDs motivation, inspiration, and ....i forget but they are cut to the beat , speed up, slow down BUT there is a pause between songs, but for the price ($10 for all 3) it is a great deal check it out!

Okay, I'm strange, but I like to listen to music from broadway musicals when I work out! My favorite is Les Mis . . . When I do this, I feel like I am at the theater re-living the story, and I hardly notice the treadmill.
I want an iPod, too!

Georgiagirl,
I teach aerobics too & I have never used the Shape music. Glad to hear that it's good. Where do you get it from? Online? For teaching I usually use music from Power music.
Thanks , Barbara

I download a lot of music from walmart.com since they only charge 88 cents per song and there's no membership fee. Some of the songs that get me going are old Go-Go's songs, Christina Aguilera, Janet Jackson, Lenny Kravitz and Nelly. I like such a variety of music (and a lot of it is cheesy) that I'm glad I can make my own workout mix.

I love all sorts of music, but to workout to, I need either some hard beats or heavy guitar.
So, I like to listen to stuff like: Velvet Revolver Nickelback AC/DC Van Halen
Or...
Jay z Black Eyed Peas Ludicris
Just depends on my mood. In our little town, I can only get a rock station on my walkman, and I don't have an i pod YET, so I listen to a lot of rock. I need a driving beat to make me MOVE!

My favorite is Angelique Kidjo. My exercise favorite is "Black Ivory Soul." Only one song is in English- the rest are various African dialects, but there's an awsome beat and energy to all the music.
