2/28/07 Breakfast: Polenta w/2 eggs, soy cheese Lunch: Pumpkin veggie soup w/couscous, 1 apple w/PB Nope, it was pineapple chili, & I had the apple Dinner: ? I plan to go to my WW meeting tonight, then pick up my food shopping order. When I get home I will make something Core! Did I say Core?...I had a Morningstar Farms chicken patty (not), a salad (that was Core), dates (Core), and a handful of peanuts (not).
APs: I wanted to get up at 5:20 to do a 35 min. tape but was too tired....I gotta get moving on this. At least getting up 15 min. early to do an ab tape would be good. But I am getting in 4 days of exercise a week. I will count 2 APs today though, walking up and down 23 steps 5 times with bags of groceries! I don't walk slowly either. I live in a condo and there's no elevator! 8GHG: YES

Heh. It took reading your journal to realize that it's the last day of February already. Wow, spring is around the corner!
4 days a week is awesome! Good for you for being so consistent and dedicated! I hope your core dinner tonight is yummylicious. ;D

Cathy, I'm curious, were you always a non-snacker? I seem to get hungry every 2-3 hours. Do you get hungry between meals? It's so interesting to me how different metabolisms work. My frequent hunger gets a little annoying at times! Oh, and I hear you about early morning workouts. I would love to get in the habit of waking up even 20 minutes early and doing a quick workout, but I have an affinity for my snooze button. -Karen

3/1/07 - March already! Spring is only 20 days away! ;D Breakfast: Smoothie, 1 fall muffin Lunch: Pumpkin veggie soup w/couscous, 1 orange Dinner: ? Working tonight, getting home late... I will worry about it later. Aggravated that I got home at 9:45 from working WW, I had a Morningstar Farms chicken (not Core), small baked potato (Core), salsa on all (Core), an avocado (Core)...and 8 vanilla creme-filled cookies....the only reason they are in the house is because I am making a cake that uses them as part of the filling. I had planned to consume some while baking and throw the rest out. But, I gave in to them last night so I decided...I will NOT consume while baking the cake tomorrow and I will STILL throw out when I am done! OK, I did it, I am accountable, I'm movin' on...APs: 0 again. I had my alarm set for 5:20...but I wanted to sleep! Dang it. I have decided that once we spring ahead our clocks, which will be a month early this year on March 10, that I will be getting up either 40 min. early to do a stretch workout, or 15 min. early to do some of my ab tapes, on the days I work or attend WW so I can get some exercise in every day! 8GHG: YES

I also eat every 2-3 hours - usually 3 meals plus a 4:00ish snack, sometimes a morning snack depending on what time I am having lunch, and usually something sweet after dinner. I give you a lot of credit for keeping your hunger in check!
Hooray for March, I hope warmer weather is on the horizon. We've got cold and rainy here this morning.
Have a good day!

Good for you for at least trying to get up earlier... back in the day I taught aerobics or had pilates clients at 6, or even 5:30 am. Now I can barely drag my sorry butt out of bed at 6:30. But getting the exercise in early does feel great and i 'm going to try and join you on the time change morning exercise circuit! Can we be buddies??
Oh and I hear you on the grocery schlepping AP's !!
have a great day, Cathy!

3/2/07 Breakfast: Smoothie Lunch: Mexican chicken soup, 1 apple w/PB Dinner: Tuna salad over greens with apple, celery, grape tomatoes, pistachios...other stuff, I am going to make an interesting salad.
APs: 5[/color] 8GHG:[/b] YES
Since I went food shopping and have all these fresh vegetables, I will cook tonight and tomorrow. I am making cauliflower puree, chili, I have my Core cookbook all tagged. My friend's 50th surprise party is tomorrow, really looking forward to it. It won't be a Core meal but so what. I am making a litter box cake - I should post the pic on the challenge board for Sandy Wildflower to see! Looks awful and totally non-Core but it's funny, and edible. My friend is a cat person. I think I will put the recipe on the dessert board and see who I can gross out. ;D

That cake is horrid and disgusting, and I'm going to make it for dd's 11th birthday in April. We are cat people, she is a cat fanatic, as is all of dh's family, so we will get plenty of mileage out of that totally sacoreligious recipe. Thanks for posting it! I hope it came out (heh heh) as nasty as it looks!! -Karen

That cake looks pretty realistic. Hope it was a success. I have a little trouble with dirt cake too, so I don't think I'll be making this one. But it is pretty funny. Katie

I'm glad you enjoyed the pic and recipe for the litter box cake LOL. It was a great success, I don't think mine looked as realistic as the one on the internet but I will put the picture on the recipe thread. 3/5/07Breakfast: Smoothie Lunch: Stuffed pepper, pureed cauliflower, 1 orange Dinner: We'll see.... well let's see...I had 1/2 a leftover chicken pita sandwich w/roasted red peppers, 6 Hungry Girl recipe jalapeno poppers that I made , a salad, 2 dates and 1/4 cup of reduced fat Haagen Dazs coffee frozen yogurt. Why do the eating habits of my weekend always creep into my Monday?!I got APs Friday, Sat. and Sunday to try to make up for the 1 "bad choice" meal I had each day this weekend....onward and downward this week!

3/6/07 Breakfast: Polenta w/2 eggs over easy Lunch: Mexican chicken soup, 1 apple w/PB Dinner: Babysitting my 2 nephews tonight so my SIL will provide, maybe Core, maybe not... Nope, not Core - leftover homemade eggplant, some shrimp scampi (no sauce but bread crumbs and butter), white rice, and leftover litter box cake! Yummy all around...
APs: I got up at 5:20 am this morning to do a 35 min. Firm tape, nothing strenuous but a nice stretch and got heart rate up, I'd say 2 APs and an NSV. 8GHG: Will try

I was up at 5:20 this morning also because my 5-year-old was screaming for no reason. When I asked him "what's with all the yelling?" he said "sorry." I was back to sleep promptly by 5:25 but I should have done what you did and stayed up and exercised since I don't have that worked into my day today! My screamer should be home in about 5 minutes.
My meeting went well, I absolutely love my leader and she has definitely become a friend. Although she is a little bit older then me we have a lot in common, we both have an only child (that is definitely uncommon where I live), both are boys, we are both Jewish, etc. I like her a lot. She told me in her 5 years of being a leader I am the first person she has "recruited" even though it's part of her job description to do so. She gave me the application and thinks I should wait until I actually hit goal to send it in (gives me some extra motivation) but I think it is something that would really work with my schedule now and at least for the next 12-15 months or so. It sounded like she thought there was a lot of need for leaders going to the different workplaces. Anyway, I'm excited about it and I'll keep you posted as to when I hit that magic number and actually get the ball rolling with things!
Have fun with your nephews!!
-Beth
