Just wanting to say Happy Birthday since I may not be able to get online all weekend. You have done great and came damn close to losing that 30# by your birthday. 27.2 is awesome!
I will check out the walk strong DVD s I rented a Preventions 3-2-1 circuit training DVD which sounds similar, a warm up then 3 minutes cardio 2 minutes strength then 1 minute of Abs. Again the music is not great but it looks like a good pace and she calls the changes in moves well so it is easy to follow.
Congrats on all the exercise and Weight loss!

Happy Birthday tomorrow Michelle!!! I hope it is a fantastic day and a blessed year. ( I have to work tomorrow and won't be able to be on line) Sometimes it is fun to compare our Core lifestyle to other plans just to see how everything balances out. I have a co-worker who just doesn't get how this plan works. She only understands counting calories or slim fast... btw she doesn't have a weight problem so doesn't get the whole concept anyway. All I know is that this is the easiest, most wonderful plan I have ever embraced. Have a wonderful day tomorrow (today too lol) Katie

Well, I made it through my b-day weekend mostly unscathed! Thanks for the b-day wishes. My husband and I went to a little hotel here in town overlooking a Lake and spent two nights. Our anniversay is the 18th - so it was a double duty mini-vacation. It was very nice because we were away from home, but still in our town. We even kept our dog at home instead of a kennel and locked her in the house at night and returned in the morning to open her doggie door. It was very relaxing. Only issue was eating out. We had a buffet breakfast at the hotel each morning and we ate lunch and dinner out both days. We shared a margarita and generally I made good choices. I am down .4 this week which I am very happy about considering how I would have eaten for my b-day weekend prior to WW. I am really starting to get the food is not a reward thing (mostly)! I still have to be conscious of why I am wanting to eat. I still want to eat when I am bored, tired, happy, mad, with a group, alone..........you get the picture! I bought myself a Polar F6 heart rate monitor for my 25lb lost reward and my b-day. I should get it tomorrow! I can't wait to be able to see how many calories I am burning exercising. I am going to set a goal of 3500 calories burned exercising a week once I have it. Ok, I have bored you long enough! Take care everyone - I'll post more next week!

Ha. You have not even begun to bore me.
I'm still thinking the same thoughts. Realizing my lifetime of turning to food is not going to change with a wave of the magic core wand...but it's hard to catch myself still at it sometimes. You too?

There are always reasons why we eat and keeping track of them helps to see the trends. Eventhough I've been lifetime for almost a year I still work to resist boredom eating, celebration eating... you know. Reaching goal is just one part of this journey...but man is it fun. Happy anniversary!! We celebrate today too. 27 years. Take care Katie

That oil thing really looks nice. I called Bed Bath & Beyond and they do not carry it. I was hoping I would not have to order it.

I'm a little late on my WI report this week - it was Tuesday. I lost 1.8 this week for a total of 29.4 since I began in June. My second heart rate monitor should arrive today (the one I got last week was defective and I had to send it back for a replacement). I am going to try to burn 3500 calories a week exercising. I think I am becoming addicted to exercising. I am doing 30 min on the elliptical now before my water aerobics class on M, W and F. I started riding my bike again (early in the moring or late at night - just too darned hot during the day at 100+ degrees. I ordered TurboJam after reading really great reviews about it on the WW fitness boards, so all in all, I am doing GREAT! Oh, and I continue to us the SparkPeople website to track my fitness and nutrition goals (the one SlimCris told us about). This weekend, I am going to go through my entire closet and cedar chest to arrange my clothes in size order. I don't want to miss out wearing some things as I breeze through the sizes going downward - ha ha! Have a great week everyone!

I have to mention something else.........I have been reading Dr. Phil's book - The Ultimate Weight Solution and I think it is GREAT!! It is all about changing your self-talk and the way you approach this lifestyle change. I would highly recommend it to anyone who is having trouble with their mental talk or outlook towards this lifestyle change (feeling overwhelmed, mad, deprived, etc). Confession - I haven't bought the book, my husband and I hang out at Barnes & Noble on the weekends for a few hours drinking non-fat lattes and reading books. So, I have been reading it there over the last few weekends! I can't wait to go back this weekend! Ha Ha!

I am happy to report that I lost 3.2 this week for a total of 32.6
I hit my first 10% goal (and got my WW keychain) - woo hoo!
I was thinking today that I only need to do what I did the last three months - 4 more times to be at goal!!
Somehow that was a very satisfying thought since this has been going so well for me and I feel so much better and energetic. I never would have dreamed that I would get up in the dark to exercise in the morning!
I have really amped up my exercising. I now have my heart rate monitor and I accomplished my goal of burning 3500 calories last week with exercising (water aerobics, bicycle, elliptical, strength training, DVDs (walk away the pounds, etc) and swimming).
I ordered a new exercise DVD system called TurboJam - I received it last night, but I probably won't do it for the first time until Thursday. I did watch a bit of it yesterday (ha ha!) and it is gonna kick my booty into shape!
Take care.......

WAY TO GO MICHELLE!!!! 3.2 this week and your 10%!!!! WOOO HOOO!!!!I remember getting my keychain and holding onto it for dear life. It was the first time I really believed I could do this--I was doing this! Hope you revel in the moment, friend.
I'm so inspired by your exercise motivation. Think I might just hit the pool this morning because of you.

Thanks for the kind words, Night! People are actually starting to comment on my weight loss which is nice! At first I thought it may bother me because then in some strange way I had to admit that I had been overweight - but who was I trying to kid anyway!!! I'm taking the compliments while I can get them!

Thanks a bunch Cynkitty! I am THRILLLED actually! I am feeling stronger and healthier. I also think it is easier for me (having so much to lose) than those who are closer to goal because each pound has a bigger impact. As I get closer to goal, I'm not sure how I will really feel about getting exactly to my WW goal weight - a little over may be just fine with me. Well, I have quite a while before I need to "worry" about that! Take care......
