I am SO glad to have found this website today!!! I really can't tell you how excited I am about all the great information I have run across here today.
I have never tried WW before, but I have been on the Core Plan for 3 weeks now and lost 7.8 pounds.
I am a little nervous about losing weight in a strange sort of way. It seems like losing weight makes me have to admit that I have been overweight.......yes, I know - D-Nile ain't just a river in Egypt!!!
For years growing up, my mother and grandmother not to mention my Aunt tried to GET me to lose weight all the while telling me that banana bread and zucchini bread were "good for me" what with the fruits and veggies and all...........
I haven't shared the fact that I have joined WW with my family yet. Not sure when I will........I guess sooner or later they will notice that I am losing weight and I will have to end my stubborn ways and admit that I indeed was/am overweight (much overweight).
I will be 38 in August and my longer term goal is to be fit and fabulous by the time I am 40!!
I hope that I will commit to post here fairly often. I at least plan to post on my weigh in days (Tuesday).
Take care.............

Hey!!!! and welcome. My weigh in is Tuesdays too at Central Market. Do we go to the same meeting by any chance? I love my meeting and leader. I am in deep south Austin south of William Cannon. Very cool to have another Austinite here. I have been at this for a year. Did great at the beginning then kinda slipped and have been slowly (key word slowly) getting back. I lost 18 # then regained 7 of it and from where I am now I want to lose 20ish. It is a great program when you follow it. Glad you are here

YES - I am going to the Central Market WW meetings on Tuesday mornings - what a coincidence!!! I have probably seen you there and didn't even know it...........small world.
I am actually out in Cedar Park, but I love that I can do my healthy grocery shopping after the meeting so it is well worth the drive.
My name is Michelle Butler - I have been trying to sit in the front row. I sat near the door at my first meeting - BIG mistake - man that meeting gets crowded!
I will wear a name tag Tues and if you feel like saying "hi" that would be great!
Take care, Michelle

My name is Cindy. I will try to remember to wear a name tag. I usually have a coffee and breakfast from the salad bar. I go straight to work after so am usually in a skirt or dress. I will look for you! meeting size cycles up and down right now it is sparse compared to how it sometimes is. It gets CROWDED at times. I usually get there early and go to the cafe and get a coffee then salad bar, you can look for me there too. Would love to meet you in person

Today I woke up hungry - stomach rumbling kind of hungry. This is a really good sign for me. I have been making an effort to eat a healthy breakfast because I have never been a breakfast eater. (Oatmeal fixed with FF milk, sliced canned peaches packed in 100% juice and a touch of cinnamon on top today).
The reason I have never really been a breakfast eater is because I have never been hungry in the morning. The reason I have never been hungry in the morning is that I have been a pre-emptive eater all day (eating when I wasn't hungry just in case I was somewhere where there wasn't food later when I actually was hungry - hhhhmmmm......not sure where that would be).
I am making a concerted effort to listen to my body to tell me when I need to eat - instead of just eating because it is "time" to eat. I also bring an apple or carrots, etc with me so that I have a healthy choice with me when I am out and about.
Anyway - I was happy to be hungry this morning.
Take care...........

Welcome welcome welcome!!!
I'm glad you're here, Michelle! I liked you immediately cause I so get the things you're saying. I am reluctant to tell people that I am on WW myself--dunno, I think I'm gonna "jinx" it or something.
I also started this path two months before I turned 40 in April--so we have similar motivations, eh? By the way, two months into it, I love being 40! Hope you will too.
I look forward to more of your posts and sharing your journey!

I just wanted to pop in and say hi! I think it's sooo exciting that you guys go to the same meeting! How I would LOVE to find someone from here near me!
I also don't publicize my weight loss efforts. Too many times I've been excited and revved up and shared it with others, only to fall off the wagon and regain weight or not lose at all. And then it's just awkward, especially when people ask about it or say that I look good when I haven't lost anything or even gained! Ugh. Past experience has definitely taught me that it's better for me to keep my mouth shut! Plus it's nicer to receive compliments when people don't know I'm trying. Makes them seem more real that way. It was truly noticed and not just ... obligatory.
Anyhow, I'm excited for you - your enthusiasm is contagious!

That's awesome! Congrats! Are you giving yourself non-food rewards? A movie? Something nice? You deserve it.

Nice to officially meet you too, but I do remember seeing you in the meetings prior to that.
I hope my enthusiasm will hold up! Right now, I really feel that it will. I have never really tried to lose weight before - so this is all new to me.
I have never really felt like being overweight has stopped me from doing things that I want to do since I am active, but I am beginning to see that this is not a good situation to be in long term and I am excited to have a goal to strive for - seems like I haven't had any real goals since graduating from college.
I hope they serve some good food for you in your training class!
Take care.........

I know I am still new this (core), but so far so good!!! I met some friends for lunch Saturday at The Cheesecake Factory - yes, I said the "C" word! And just for the record.....I didn't pick the restaurant - ha ha! I was a few minutes late and my friends had already ordered drinks - mojita for one and some sort of pink lemonade with alcohol for the other. I had WATER!!! I ordered an appetizer salad with mixed greens, grilled asparagus, beets, goat cheese (not core, but they put 3 little dabs around the edge of the plate), pecans (not core, but I'll be darn if little chunks added up to more than 4 halves), and a balsamic vintager dressing (not core, but maybe not much more oil than 2 tsp - who knows....). The grand finale........drum roll please - I DIDN'T EAT CHEESECAKE - just coffee for me. I must admit that the cheesecake and big blobs of whipped cream with cherries on top didn't even look appealing to me and I thought I LOVED cheesecake. I think reading some of the posts about people sneezing on food and not washing there hands when serving decadent food stuck in my head - woo hoo! One small victory for my waistline! We are meeting there again in August - we'll see how good I am then! Take care......
