I worked for hours today in the garden. We're basically starting from scratch, so this involved turning over soil, digging big holes, general hard work. My shoulders got quite sunburned; they are not going to be happy tomorrow. I'm not a seasoned gardener by any stretch of the imagination, and I'm a relative newcomer to Southern California trying to stay with natives, so it's a lot of mental as well as physical work, learning about unfamiliar plants and getting them in the ground. I am pooped. I need to write what I ate today:
B: Tuna with ff mayo and Laughing Cow light cheese on Ezekial bread (3), apple S: nf latte L: Soup (beef and veggie) D: Pizza (10) Chips (3) a chocolate, um....thing, DD and her friend created (3) There are two extra kids in my house tonight. I don't know where they came from. I ate what they ate b/c I was too tired to figure out a quick Core alternative. A rather un-Core day. Tomorrow morning is weigh in (switching to Sunday). We'll see what's what then.

Howdie folks. I bailed for a bit but I'm back. I did lurk around, so I haven't been too out of touch. I think I just lost my enthusiasm for awhile....that and stress at work and my newfound gardening obsession led to my absence. Going to keep things real simple. If I don't write it, I won't do it, so here it is:

Day 3 back on the wagon. My biggest struggle this week is going to be exhaustion. I get food sloppy when I'm tired, my work schedule this week (this month) is making me tired, and I work overnight again tonight. I know that hydration and protein are key. If I could power nap effectively I would be set, but I am a lousy napper, and sleeper in general. Trying not to be grumpy. I need a good perky graphic, but boo hoo I haven't figured out how!!
B: coffee, cereal, milk No real lunch, snacks: baby carrots, popcorn, grocery samples (3), roasted peas, orange D: Chicken, yam, quinoa Overnight TBA, probably soup and veggies. And coffee. (I had veggie burger, ff feta, 0-pt tortilla, grapes)

Congrats on passing on the burrito. What is Ezekial toast? I've seen it before on your posts and have no clue what it is. Have a great day Katie

Katelight, Ezekial bread is sprouted grain bread, wheat-free, and is a complete protein. It's hardy (hearty...?) bread, very healthy, low points and doesn't kick off carb cravings for me. It's in most healthfood stores, and I'm even seeing it in mainstream supermarkets. Good stuff. They have a website. I'll get it from the label later when I'm home and post it in my journal for anyone who's interested...... Okay, it's Ezekiel bread, I've been spelling it wrong. And it's not wheat-free, but flourless. Important distinction. Check it out at foodforlife.com
B: coffee, 1 egg over ezekiel toast (1) w/ salsa S: grapes, baby carrots, soy milk L: cup of lentil soup over quinoa, popcorn S: cereal, milk, banana D: teryaki marinated tofu and broc over brown rice, avocado slices. I may have some pudding for desert.

I did have every intention of going to my Friday evening spinning class, but I woke up at 2:30am and couldn't get back to sleep, so I am moving very slowly today. That's my story and I'm sticking to it. I'll do kbells tomorrow morning. There, I said it, now I have to do it. Pizza and movie night at my house.
B: coffee, cereal, milk, grapes S: oatmeal, soy milk L: lentil soup, quinoa, popcorn (my theme the last couple days) S: didn't have pudding last night, but I did after work today. D: pizza, salad, other veggies. Less pizza, more veggies.

I'm down a pound. Better than up a pound! I have a party later today. Parties are my weakness. At least my points reset today, and I did some major excercise this morning, so I do have some wiggle room.
coffee, cereal, milk 2 eggs w/ sauteed eggplant, ff feta, salsa, orange Dinner: party food, some healthy, most not so much. Didn't even count points but I know it was beyond anything reasonable. Gotta be good the rest of the week!

Thanks for dropping by, Cyd and Night. My California roll was my treat for getting my mammogram as well as some other medical studies I've been putting off. I used to make California rolls, but haven't in many years though I know it's simple, and just need to pick up some nori and one of those little matt thingies to role 'em up. Then I can have it every day!!
Here's today...
B: coffee, 2 eggs in a 0-pt tortilla topped with salsa L: large green salad with quinoa, black beans, and ff feta D: dinner plans out at a place with many salads and soups (later....okay, so I had a large green salad with roasted rosemary chicken on top with balsamic vinegar, and a couple little garlic roll things that were really good. That's a wash with my APs earned, but I don't think it was more than that, so I'm still sort of OP!). overnight snacks for work TBA, though after that salad for dinner I'm not even close to hungry. Talk to me at 2am.
