Tuesday, Nov. 22nd I was on cloud 9 last night. I got my results from my cholestoral and it went from 238 in Aug to 201. YES. I know it is heredity (mispell) but it did go down. My dr. wanted me to start lipitor but I wanted to wait and have it taken again. Losing 60lbs helped. Need to get it below 200 but I am heading in the right direction.
B = Canteloupe, water S = orange L = Tomato soup and salad with roast beef in it. D =

Of course I did not journal at all over the holidays. I did gain 1/2lb. last week and will just have to see what the results of Thanksgiving brings when Wed weighin arrives. Monday Nov 28th B = oatmeal L = salad and soup D = I went crazy last night. Just could not get enough to eat. I started out with shrimp stir fry w/brown rice, pumpkin nut roll, 100 calorie chips ahoy and then had my cereal (puffed wheat/fiber one). Then crackers with egg salad on it.

Hi Grandma!
I see you attend Curves--do you like it? Do you think someone with hip arthritis (like me) could do this?
Hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving, girl! paula

I do like curves. I would give it a try. I was not sure if I could do the machines with arthritis in the knee. At one time I could not even take a walk around the house without my knee hurting. The lady told me which machines to go easy on and I did. I can now do all of the machines without pain. When I get on the pads that you get on in between the machines, I do not jog real fast I jog but I do arm movements to help get my heart rate up. Also they told me that if I find I cannot do the machines and it bothers me to just get a drs. slip and they would let me out of the contract. I thought that was nice of them. I would go and let them show you and try it. Let me know what you decide. Hi Grandma! I see you attend Curves--do you like it? Do you think someone with hip arthritis (like me) could do this? Hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving, girl! paula

I need to start out better today. Last night was awful...I can't figure out what got into me. I know my oatmeal yesturday morning just did not do it. I put in the brown sugar splenda with the plain oatmeal and I wondered if I put too much and then I craved food all day. Oh I just remembered that I also had a pack of crackers (wheat w/peanut butter on them) yesturday. Also one of the girls here brought in homemade cookie and I had one of those and also a whole bag of popcorn in the afternoon.
See....I went wild. I just started the holiday challenge yesturday and already I screwed up. Well today is going to be better.....I am starting out with positive thinking.
B = Oatmeal with plain splenda, 1/2 c. coffee
L = Salad
D = Leftover stir fry w/brown rice. 1/2 hotdog on 1 slice bread.
S = ff/sf banana pudding w/cool whip and puffed wheat/fiber one cereal
As you can tell I am not back with it. Too much food.

Thursday, Dec 1 Well last night at weigh in I gained 2.5lbs. Not good....but the meeting sure was. The leader had us talk about what they did right over the Thanksgiving Holiday and I picked up some good pointers that I will try for the C.Mas Holiday. Of course everyone did some things wrong but she wanted us to learn what to do right. Here are a few I thought I would try.....one lady said she ususally takes a small plate (as I do) but she was at her parents and her mom had out the good china so she used the large plate but she put all the core food on the plate first (meat,veg etc) and then took small portions of potatoes etc. That way the plate was full of the good stuff and she had little room for the bad. Another lady said she made sure she got her water in-take and also took the dogs for a walk. Another said she put the leftovers in the refrigerator instead of leaving them out. That way it is not so tempting and if anyone wants any they can take it out, warm it up. It was a great meeting. Thursday B = Oatmeal L = sandwich with 2 slice ham and ketchup D = Salad, small bowl of rice w/veg. S = 2 klondike bars and puffed wheat fiber one cereal
