Hello Everyone ;D I am new to Core but it I am not new to WW. I tried it in 2002-2003 and adapted it to a low carb no processed way kinda like Core . I lost 70 lb for my wedding in May 2003. I felt like a million bucks. The only reason I went off of this lifestyle and gained all my weight back was I got pregnant in December 2003 and was on bedrest the last 4 months of my pregnancy. I gave birth to a beautiful healthy baby girl August 17 2004. So I do not regret any of my weight gain. My weight gain is only temperary but she will be here for life. I am 29 years old and a mother of 3 DS 8,DD 3 , and DD 4 months. I love them very much and want to lose this weight so I can keep up with them. I don't want them to be teased because they have a fat mommy. My son was so happy when I lost my weight before. He would say this is my Mom with his head held so high. I want that again. Instead of me being affraid to go outside or in public. From what I have read tonight I think this board is exactly what I need to help me make that happen again.
[glow=Purple,2,300]Thank you Kippy for creating this board[/glow]

WOW, after reading everyone's introductions I've realized what a wonderful group of people we have to support us on this journey.
I'm 35 and live in Northern NJ with my hubby. No children (yet) but 13 nieces and nephews whom I adore.
I did the WW at work program 3 years ago and lost 20 pounds, made lifetime and thought I had it all under control...gained 30 pounds and am back on ww. I'm back on track and DH is doing ww with me now so it's much easier with no junk food in the house. We both enjoy core and hope to make it a lifestyle change.
Thanks in advance to everyone for their support!
Kippy - thank you for doing this, I hope you realize how many people you're helping with this board.

I am Ann, 55 a wife to Mr. Wonderful, mother to two grown children and grandmother of two boys. I love core!! My WW group call me the "Core Queen".
I am in the last stage of Lupus and suffer from many different diseases as a result. I focus on WW and Curves and with the help from the good Lord I have outlived the 5 years they gave me 10 years ago! All the meds I take make losing difficult, not impossible.
I enjoy knitting, crochetting, tatting and sitting by the fireplace on a cool night with my faithful blue russian siamese cat Chloe. I am new at this computer stuff and can use any help anyone can offer.
Thank you Kippy for all the time and effort you have put into this web site.
How can I get the cutey things that are on other's posts?

Hi, I'm Linda and almost (yikes! ) 42 in a few weeks. I have been married almost 3 years to a wonderful man. I don't have any children. I live in NC and work as an administrative secretary at a university. I love to weave baskets and other crafts. I enjoy exercise videos and traveling. I have been a lifetimer since 1989--not always at goal, though. I am 2 lbs. away from my personal goal. I am a shade under 5 feet tall and have a small build. Core has helped break a yearlong plateau. I had 10 lbs. to lose and they are slipping off! yea!!! I'm glad to have found a happy, friendly group--I think it's b/c we're eating less sugar and processed stuff! lol Take care. Linda G

Hi All, Im not much of a poster, but I love to lurk on the WPA board and this one now! I am 46 soon to be ugh, 47 with about 50 lbs to lose. I have been on and off WW since the late 70's, but I know its the best program out there! I love the core plan and wish it had more support at my meetings. Very few people core at the meetings around here. I think people are afraid its low carb. I have 2 children, ages 15 and 12 and I have been married to a very supportive man for almost 22 years! I have a dog, cat, hamster and a tank full of reptiles, sheesh a regular zoo. I have decaired 2005 the year of ME! I plan to get healthy, off my B/P meds and to get physically fit. I am looking to all of you for the wonderful support that you already give!! Happy New Year!!

Hi there. My story is like many of yours. I am new to Core but not to WW. I made lifetime in 1997 (!), right after graduating from law school. At that point, I was 30 lbs overweight, which was the heaviest I had ever been. I have always struggled to maintain a healthy weight, but I had never been seriously overweight or obese. I used the points system and lost the 30 lbs and worked hard to keep it off. I kept the weight off for 6 years (with minor gains and losses) until I had baby # 1 last year. Like Princessmom, I was on bedrest for many months and as a result, I gained 60 lbs. This has thrown me into a total tailspin - I don't even recognize myself. Since beginning to "diet" 6 months ago, I have gained another 10. I really struggled to find the right woe before learning about Core. I tried initially to return to points, but struggled with the journalling. I know that whole foods, meetings and support will work for me going forward - I am so glad to be here! I have 70 pounds to lose, but right now, I am focusing on my 10% goal as a personal "mini" goal. I am a lawyer (copyright) and married to another lawyer (corporate) - but really, we're nice people! We have a 14 month old son who is a great little guy. I recently left a private law firm in Manhattan to begin my own business venture in a high-tech field outside of law, which is both exciting and risky. We recently moved from Manhattan to the suburbs outside the city. I am a native NY-er, so take it easy on the Yankees. Hope to "see" all of you here. ~Daisy

I don't know if anybody will be checking this far back in the posts but when I saw this intro board I thought I better get onto it; better late than never.
I was a chubby child and followed the WW plan with my mom when I was in 7th grade. My jr. high and h.s. years were pretty stressful with the break up of my parent's marriage and I lost lots of weight. I weighed barely 100 lbs. at 5 ft. 3 1/2 in. and stayed slim for many years, I even managed to take off the pregnancy weight from my first child. Then after having several miscarrages, and having a very difficult second pregnancy I've been battling my weight ever since.
I have made lifetime in WW before. In fact I've been at goal twice before. I just haven't been able to figure out a way to maintain the loss. I can't even begin to count the times I returned to WW over the years. In our little town there is only one meeting once a week and I have other things going on during meeting time so I joined on-line. I did lose 6 lbs. doing flex on-line and gained them all back over the holidays. So now I'm starting over again with a recommittment, this time to Core.
I am 46 y.o. I have a DH (of 23 yrs) and two DDs. DD #1 is 21 and very thin but DD #2 , 18 years old,has a weight issue and is trying the WW with me. I hope we can both stick to it. She is doing Flex and like I said I'm doing Core. I can't believe all I can eat with Core and how good I feel following the plan.
I am a high school and community college teacher of life sciences -- biology, human anatomy & physiology.

Hi! I'm Linda. My first experience with WW was in 1970, lost 73 pounds but gained it back. I've been a member several times, but this time I'm sticking it out. I love the CORE program and think it's a healthy way of eating and liveable for me. I joined in September and have lost 21 pounds, got my 10% and am going to stick it out this time to goal with the help of you wonderful people here.
A little bit about myself - I've been married to a great supportive guy for 41+ years and have one daughter, Kim, age 35. I'm a grandma (called Nana) to two beautiful little boys, 5 years and 18 months. I live in TN and have worked at an elementary school for 30 years as bookkeeper. [/move]

My name is Melissa. I am 36 y.o. and live in Pennsylvania. I am married with a daughter who will be 4 in March and a son who will be 2 at the end of January.
I first joined WW in 1989 when I was in college. The program was different back then for those of you who did it back then (exchanges) and I lost about 25 lbs. I gained back about 10 or so over the years and then lost that and more so before my wedding in 1998 (not on WW but just by eating low fat and working out a lot. Wish it was still just that easy!)
I rejoined WW in 2003 after the birth of my son. I was very frustrated that after 3 mos post partum I hadn't lost any weight since I left the hospital. I joined WW and lost 13 lbs and got to goal. I also got to lifetime which was a great achievement for me since I never got that far the first go round. So I have been lifetime since August of 2003. Unfortunately learning the point system turned me into a creature who became obsessive about food and I started an awful binge/fast cycle that I hadn't been a part of since my early 20s. I still go for my monthly weigh in but tried to just not care so much about points. I ended up doing South Beach too just to try something else that would get my cravings for sugar under control. I found SB to be too restrictive. I battled weight/food issues all summer till Core came along and was just what I needed. No counting and an easy program to live with. My family can live with it too. I love it. Not that I didn't fall off the core wagon around Halloween and over the holidays. Trying to get back on the wagon and really enjoying cooking with Core and searching the recipes on this site.
Nice to meet you all.
Melissa
