Hi, My name is Jennifer. I am 26 years old. I have a wonderful DH that could stand to be on this journey with me. I have a 16 month old DD, Kennedy, who is my life. I am a stay at home mom.
I didnt really have a weight problem til College. My mom pretty much cooked "CORE" foods all the time. I was 145 which on my frame is a size 8. I thought I needed to lose 20 lbs back then. What was I thinking. My mom even kept sweets in the house. Can you say little debbie? but we rarly ate them cause they were always there...We were not deprived of them...and when you eat healthy foods for 3 meals a day a little debbie doesnt kill ya.
Each year in college I put on more and more weight..>I would lose a little in the summer just to go back and gain more. The dinning hall was full of sweets and goodies...I had to eat it there cause we didnt have kitchens in the dorm...it could be hours before I ate again so I better fill up...that was my theory anyway. I got up to about 190...
At 190 or so I got engaged! Better lose weight. I got down to 178. Looked pretty good. lol Got married gained 10 back. got pregnant!~ Went up to 235
I ate like a little uh big pig during pregnancy. The first 35 came off pretty easy and now I have been having a hard time. I keep falling off the wagon. But this time its for LIFE!
I used to go to meetings but now with a daughter I just cant. I stay at home so I dont feel like I can afford them anymore. Plus I would have to find someone to babysit and that costs too. These are the sacrifices i make though to be able to afford staying home.
I have been on core a week come Tuesday and I am loving it again! WHy did I ever quit before???

Hello Everyone,
I'm Virginia from Ontario, CA. I'm a 38yr old single mother of a 9 yr old boy. I returned to Weight Watchers in September of 2004. I previously lost 35 pounds on the Flex plan. It was great but I was tired of counting points and I just wasn't excited about the program anymore.
I returned to WW because it's the only program that actually worked in a healthy way. To my surprise, I came back to Core and it's been wonderful. The holidays have been a struggle but I'm not giving up because I want to enter my 40's with a healthy lifestyle.
This forum is great. Thanks Kippy, you rock!

Well, if anyone is still listening... I'm Debi and live in southern NJ, about midway between Philadelphia and Atlantic City. I'll be 53 next month (still act like a kid, though). My 'baby' will be 20 next month - OMG! I've been watching my weight since I was a teenager. But, back in those days, I could keep my weight below 110 (I'm only 5'). When I entered college, I gained the freshman 15 (the only thing that tasted good was ice cream). I managed to take off that weight during my first summer home from school. And, kept it off for about 10 years. As I entered my 30's, my weight climbed a little bit each year. 6 months before my 40th birthday (weighing 130), I vowed that I would get back to my <110 days. I made it as far as 118 (using Richard Simmons Deal a Meal). And, the weight crept up again - reaching 147 by 1995. So, I joined WW. Following Fat and Fiber program, I was able to lose almost 30 pounds. Then I plateaued. And, though I've attended meetings religiously for almost 10 years, I regained the 30 pounds plus 4 more. I started on CORE 3 weeks ago - first success I've had in years. I'm striving for 111, and am confident that I will get there on CORE. I'd love to be at 10% by my birthday. Looking forward to sharing this journey with all of you! (Thanks, Kippy!)

Good morning. Looks like I'm getting to the party a little late. I'm 34, married, living in southeastern PA. I work full-time at a local community college and am a part-time doctoral student. I joined WW in October 1998 and was lifetime in May 1999. I've weighed, measured, and counted points ever since. I'm excited about CORE because my diet has been about 85-90% core for the past few years, so I won't need to make many changes, but I will need to learn about "eating until satisfied" not just to use my minimum points. Kippy - a HUGE thank you for creating this board. I'm not much of a recipe follower, but when I can I'll gladly share ideas and creations.

My name is Diana, married to the most wonderful man, Greg. NO kids, only the 4-legged furry kinds. Been doing WW since 1989 with exchanges, and have done most of the other programs over the years. When I started, was at my all time high of 225, lost 60 pounds, yo-yo'd over the years to where I am now about 185-ish. I re-joined WW this time in Oct '03, struggled with points, hating every minute of it! Never felt "healthy". Along comes Core. LOVE IT, LOVE IT LOVE IT! I feel SO much better, and although I may not be losing, have quit the gains I was having while struggling with points! DH joined in February '04 to help support me, lost about 35 pounds right away on points. When I switched to Core, he said he was doing it by "default". Says he feels healthier, but he still uses his WPA's for his snacks. He has liked all the new foods we are trying with Core. He is convinced that Kippy is the most wonderful cook in the whole world with all the creations she has come up with! THANKS Kippy for all you do for the Core people! We LOVE you!!!!!!

Okay, here goes my story.
I am 42, married and two girls, ages 16 years and 10 years. I work outside the home and have been on WW several different times throughout my life.
I reached goal in 2000, maintained that for about 10 months, then stopped journaling, exercising, etc. Gained it all back, rejoined WW and reached goal again in November 2002. Maintained that for a year, stopped journaling, exercising, etc. Gained most of it back, and have started back at WW on 1/1/05. Giving the CORE plan a try this time, since I seem to stop journaling each time I reach goal. Really want to reach goal and keep my body there this time.
They say "Third Times a Charm". Sure hope so for me.
Thanks, Missielynn

Hi! I'm Barb and I live in Western PA, about 50 miles north of Pittsburgh! I will soon hit the B I G 5 0! I have been on again-off again WW for 4 years now. The first time I was totally committed and lost 70+ pounds and came within 1/2 pound of goal and stayed there for 6 weeks and NEVER made goal. Don't know what happened, but just started gaining and gaining. I am now almost back to where I started 4 years ago. I have not done Core before but I am going to try it and be totally committed this time around. I am looking forward to reading all your posts, your tips for staying OP, looking forward to your support and just generally some friendships.
Thanks Kippy for starting this! Barb

Hi, my name is Kelly and I am 38 yrs. old, soon to be 39. I joined ww a year ago and lost 32 lbs. I was doing great until a couple of weeks ago. I gained back 10 lbs. I feel that I have a grip on things and that is why I am here. It is easier to lose 10-15 lbs then the 35 lbs. I love to eat and that is why I am where I am today. My fiance is a pizza and fast food junky. He doesn't eat vegetables at all, which is hard for me. But he is very supportive. I love ww and I am going to give core a try. I've lost all my weight before on the flex program.

My name is Mary, 42 years young and live in southwest Iowa. I work full-time and have "toyed" with the idea of going back to school. I've been married to a wonderful man (Bill) for 5 1/2 years and have a 21 year old daughter. I have followed the WW plan numerous times, finally reaching lifetime in May of 2001. However, I have gained some of the weight back. . . I am a member of the CURVES program, love to walk, and do water aerobics when time permits. I also love watching football (go PACKERS!) and college basketball. I love to watch IOWA GIRLS high school softball games. When the core program was introduced in August of this year, I lost about 8 lbs right away, then the "over-confidence" bug hit me and I gained those 8 lbs back. I have re-committed to CORE (I need to get rid of the "snacks" from the HOLIDAYS in my house). I know the program, I just get stressed about life in general and falter. . . This is a great board.

Hello all. My name is Sarah, I'm from Kansas. I am married to a fantastic man, but we don't have kids yet. We've been married less than a year...no reason to hurry.
I joined WW when we got engaged, in September 2003. I didn't want to be a ginormous (my own word!) bride! I wanted to be happy with myself, not only on my wedding day, but everyday. The weight had slowly crept on over a matter of about 6 years. I remember being in the 160s in high school, and my freshman year in college I managed to squeeze into ONE size 10. By the time I joined WW, I was a large size 18, probably should have been looking at the 20s!
I also didn't want to be a fat mom, that couldn't run and play with her kids or that her kids would be embarrassed by. I was also tired of only being able to shop at a few stores because nothing ever fit.
I started on Flex, lost 30 pounds by my wedding, then maintained for several months because I had a. met my wedding goal and b. got lazy.
Then Core came along! It shook it all up for me again, made it exciting. I was doing great on Core, then the holidays struck, along with my grandmother's funeral. Not a lot of emotional eating, but a lot of uncontrollable circumstances. It's hard to get off that roller coaster once you jump on.
I'm off it now...and on Core 100%! I hope to be at my goal by March 27, which is my first wedding anniversary. DH will be seeing a hot little dress as he takes me out to dinner (he doesn't know any of this yet, but oh well! ;D ) and I want to know that I can hit goal, stay there and become lifetime.
Personally, I really want to get to at least 160 by the time that I am done losing weight.
I am also going to start training for a marathon in June for Team in Training. Wish me luck!

Hi everyone-- I'm Patti, a Catholic high school math teacher. Soon to be 33 years old, started WW for the final time in my life January 1999. I've been consistantly attending meetings here in Jersey City, NJ since then. I am fortunate enough to have a teriffic leader who has provided me with a ton of inspiration. When I walked into that meeting I weighed over 300 lbs. and I was tired of having to order my clothes over the internet and from catalogs. I wanted to shop at any store in the mall (still a primary goal). Today I'm at 233 give or take a few holiday pounds. I did have a minor set back last year. I was at 223 and hit that "too comfortable with myself" stage. I ended up gaining 30 lbs and it wasn't until I started the core plan the first week it was introduced that I was able to start my journey back to 223. I said I would not give up and I absolutely have not. But like with all things, sometimes life gets in the way. LOL.
I love to cook, so I'm sure I'll be posting some recipe ideas.
Patti
PS. thanks kippy for starting this board. I do admire your many intelligent posts over on the WW boards.
