Okay ladies. Ms. Cathy named it wonderfully, so here we go. Post your goals, plans, ideals and incentives. Post early and often and we will all head towards a healthier us together. A Note: I will try to be involved in this challenge when I can. My partners' lumpectomy came out positive for cancer, so we are now focused on treatment and piecing together our future plans. On the happy side we are also getting married this afternoon, which is made all the more poignant by the events of the last week. I won't go into a lot of details but if you want to read more you can at itiswhatitiscyn.blogspot.com/ My goal is to just try and eat regularly and healthfully as much as possible. I am also go to try and up my yoga practice a bit over the next few months.

Hey there -
Count me in! I'd still like to lose 5 lbs. I weighed in on Thursday and stayed the same. I feel like I was somewhat successful with the summer challenge. At least the scale went down a bit, and I was doing the boot camp so I feel like I was able to tone also. Now that school has started and I know my work schedule I'm hoping to figure out a workout routine. We are in Boston this weekend and next weekend scheduled to go to New Orleans for our 10th anniversary, but that may be cancelled depending on the hurricane.
My goals: 1 - Lose 5 lbs by Thanksgiving 2 - exercise 3x/week! Hope everyone has a happy and safe weekend!
Cynthia - I will keep positive thoughts for you and your partner. I'm glad it was caught early at least. Congratulations on your wedding, I hope you have the beautiful day you both deserve today.
-Beth

Cynthia, I posted on the old challenge before I read what you wrote here. My prayers will be with you and your partner. I hope the celebration of your marriage was joyful yesterday despite the challenges ahead; what a blessing that you have each other.
My goal for this challenge: Lose 10 pounds. It is ambitious, but we also have more than two months. If I do that, I will be back to my WW goal and my clothes will fit better. Exercise is, of course, essential.
Starting weight: 149.75 Goal weight: 139.75

Hi, everyone! I was on vacation last week, had fun and sure missed you! Just checking in on Sunday - not usual at all for me but I'm glad I did. Cynthia -- the biggest hugs ever for you, your partner and DS - very positive thoughts also, you will get through this. I read your blog and am so glad the tests came back negative in the lymph nodes. And the wedding pictures!! ;D What a wonderful day, congratulations. You all look beautiful. Hi, Beth and Coco -- here we go again! I want to lose 5 lbs. for this challenge... I really really really really really want to do that... urrrghhhh.... I don't even know what I weigh because I didn't WI Wed. being on vaca. But I kept up with exercise and C25K all week. I will find out number this Wed. and go from there. I've made a decision that probably by the end of the month... I will quit WW monthly pass and continue my weight loss journey on my own. I just can't even afford the $30/month anymore. I will miss attending meetings but I have you guys and also my Dotti's forum friends to help me through. And I know the program pretty well...just gotta work it for life. Have a great rest-of-Sunday and talk to ya tomorrow!

Hello Ladies, It's been so long since I've logged in that I had to do a little remembering. I've been checking in on you almost weekly, but didn't feel like I had much to contribute. You have all been in my thoughts and prayers. So...... In the past year since I've checked in, my life has taken some interesting twists and turns, but I've learned a few lessons along the way. Both my husband and I have had job changes due to our former businesses being closed. We are both employed now and learning how to adjust to smaller income. With time that will change and things are ok. Our 4 children have had some bumps and hard life lessons, but they are all strong and are making things better also. On a personal note I've gained 30lbs back of the 80 I lost. I've spent most of the past winter and all summer in the "how did I let this happen" depression and decided that as of Sept. 1st I'm done with my pity party. I decided that I won't let outside influences be my crutch any more and that I can get back to where I want to be. I am not returning to meetings...money and realizing WW was one of those crutches was my reason. But, I do know what works. So Monday I started writing down everything I ate, focused on whole, Core, wonderful, healthy, foods. I have to admit Monday was a B**ch. Sugar detox was kind of icky, but Tuesday was a little better and Wednesday was great. and so has the rest of the week been. I've been getting in a little more exercise and am feeling confident and back on track. One of my Co-workers and I are going to be accountability partners and we are going to a once a week exercise class offered through our parks and recreation organization. I'm hoping that I'll learn some techniques that I can use at home the rest of the week. As for setting a number goal. I'm not going to do that. My goal is to simply eat clean. BTW if you have ever seen the "EAT CLEAN' magazine I highly recommend getting a copy. I think it is amazing and follows closely the Core mentality. Life is good and it's time that I really focus on that. Congratulations to all of you that have soldiered on and have kept this board going. Thank you so much for your dedication. I don't know how often I'll be able to post, but know always that I check in frequently and keep you in my thoughts Blessings Katie

Katie, I'm so glad to "hear" from you! I've been wondering about you. I've gained a good 15 pounds of my 50 back, but I must say it feels like more because I have not been very dedicated to exercise. I'm with you about the eating clean; that's what I am trying to do as well.
Okay, my weekly weigh in: Not good! 151 (up 1.25).
Have a good week, everyone. I'll check in when I can!

Hi ladies! I'm back from a really long vacation. Almost 2 full weeks(had to go to work 2 days in between because I'm in accounting and had to close the books for the month). I would love to be in on the challenge, but I will start with my weight on Wednesday as I know I gained some over my vacation and the second day into it, I don't want to be at a negative start. So after I get a starting weight on Wednesday, I want to get rid of at least 8 pounds by Thanksgiving. Cathy, have you ever checked out the 3fatchicks.com forum? The core group is also great over there. Also, I checked out Cynthia's blog, but can't seem to find the wedding pictures. Where are they? I would love to see them. Cynthia, my thoughts and prayers are with you both. That's great that the cancer hasn't spread to the lymphnoids. Congratulations on your wedding! Great to see you again chicagobeth! You to Coco! Katie, the good thing is you are getting back on track before gaining back to full 80 pounds. Glad you have joined the challenge!

Thanks for the warm welcome back. My first exercise class was tonight. Can we say "hell on earth"? lol I'm in such terrible shape and have not been in a class in at least 20 years. Actually just like giving birth you quickly forget how much it hurt while doing the exercises. I will go back next week. In fact I think I'm actually looking forward to it. My first wi on Monday I'm down 3lbs. Yippee!!! Like I said earlier, I'm not putting a number goal just yet and for sure no time line. I'm starting to feel like myself again. This is all good. Have a great day till I "see" you next Katie

HI KATIE!!!!!!!!!!!!! It's great to see you here again. Good for you for having the right mentatlity and the dedication to get back on track.
Okay - September is a huge crazy month for me!! Our Labor Day trip to Boston was WONDERFUL but I ate lots of clam chowder, etc. Last week I did Core for a few days before we left for our next trip! We did cancel New Orleans because of the hurricane and ended up going to NAPA! It was a blast. And we ate, and drank, and ate and drank some more. It was a great way to celebrate our 10th anniversary. We got back Monday night. Yesterday - was a nutty and crazy day and stressful and I did not make good choices (including lots of pizza!!). Today and tomorrow will be all Core and I weigh in on Friday morning. I am SURE I will be up 2-4 pounds at least but I'm okay with it. I'm a full believer of not depriving yourself on vacation!
Now that things are "normal" I will need to figure our exercise in my routine and not make any more excuses. For now I will at least start with some walking.

I'm a full believer of not depriving yourself on vacation! I agree completely with that Beth. That's why I had a 4.2 gain when I was off 2 weeks. Oh well, it was so worth it. No worrying about it, just eating what's available, drinking and having a good time. But I'm right back on track now and back to reality.

Poop - I am starting this challenge off at my heaviest weight ever in 3 years!! I hate this. But there's nowhere to go but down.
I went to my meeting last night and they said I may be able to attend to the end of this month, or next, depending on if they charged me yet. So... I will!

Hi all-
I was THRILLED to weigh in today and be up only 2.4 pounds, because after my trips to Napa and Boston I really thought it would have been closer to 5. So, I am back on track for the next week! Next weekend I have a family Bat Mitzvah, which includes Friday night dinner, Saturday lunch, Saturday night fancy party and Sunday brunch. Right now I'm just going to concentrate on the next week. If I can start some activity that will certainly help!
Cynthia - great pictures! So glad the prognosis is good.
Have a good weekend everyone! Onward and downward!
-Beth

Hey ladies - where is everyone?
I'm having a good week so far and sticking pretty Core. I've used about 12 WPAs this week so far but most important is that I've started to move again! I worked out Sunday morning and Monday morning. I should be able to at least get in a walk today.
The rain here this weekend was brutal, we fared pretty well considering all of the flooding.
What's everyone having for dinner tonight? I'm making turkey chili!
Hope you have a great day!
-Beth
