Let us know. You don't need to post your journal writings here if you do not feel comfortable. Just tell us what it is that you're doing!

Things I've learned since I started losing weight and eating healthier?
1) That when you are lonely and don't eat the candy bar...you have to actually deal with feeling lonely. Hard..but good.
2) That you can get through cravings by breathing. Embrace wanting the candy bar, but know inside that you will walk away and will be ok.
3) That exercise and an apple can lift even the darkest of moods.

I've chosen to write the reasons for losing weight. In order to complete this goal, I'll need to come up with a total of 12 reasons. It makes me realize I've not thought that deeply into this journey, I've just been doing it. I'm looking forward to coming up with the twelve, and using them as a reference to motivate me along the way. Thanks for helping me be more mindful....

I noticed today while journaling why I want to lose weight it's all about looks and feeling better. That's ok for today. Tomorrow may be something else. I feel active and healthy (I workout every morning) so for now it's really just getting my big butt smaller! ;D OH and eating healthier. I WANT TO LOSE WEIGHT BECAUSE: *I'll look better *I'll be able to buy new clothes *I'll feel better about myself

OK, reasons why I want to finish getting the rest of this weight off:
1) To be at peace with my body; 2) To be able to complete my goal of running a 12K race in June; 3) To put myself in optimum health.

I'm journaling for:
Journal what zone you're in before and after you eat each meal (4x/week)
I did the journaling before/after meals (plus snacks) on Monday until mid-afternon (so 2/3 of the day) and all day today (OK I jumped the gun a little bit on today since I'll be having another snack).
I stayed in the comfort zone, mostly at 2 and 3 (Getting Hungry and Satisfied/Comfortable) with a couple of 1's and 4's (Hungry and Full/Not at all hungry).
I'm most likely to get really hungry before dinner and most likely to get too full after dinner or evening snack. Having to write it down, I'm paying a little more attention. I'm most likely to not pay attention with snacks in the evening.

What I've learned since beginning the weight loss process:
1) I will have to focus on healthy eating my entire life--not just during the weight loss process;
2) Sugar is like an illicit drug for me. There is no moderation, I do much better when I abstain totally.
Both of these realizations have been tough to come to terms with. I will not ever be someone who can eat whatever they want without having any ramifications. Also, sugary desserts are simply off limits to me. Always. Many people do okay with eating these things in moderation - I do not. The line beween moderation and overindulgence is too much of a slippery slope for me. Is it fair? No. But it is my reality. And that is okay. I like looking and feeling like I do now more than the taste of any food that can come my way.

I'm going to declare last week's journal challenge a success for me. I jounaled this challenge:
Journal what zone you're in before and after you eat each meal (4x/week)
I journaled before/after most of my meals and snacks for 4 days. Yay! It was a good exercise for me.
OK, on to the next challenges! ;D

One of my week of 2/14 challenges was to journal what I'd learned since beginning the weight loss process (3X in week).
I forgot all about deciding to do this challenge until I came back Sunday to report on my challenges. So, I only got in 2X.
I'll take that as partial success. ;D
