After school yesterday I enjoyed a bowl of shredded wheat, banana, and soy milk as a snack. It really hit me then how uncomfortable I had felt with the Core snack rules; I always felt like I was cheating. Since I am such a rule follower, it did make me feel a little off. Stupid, I know -- just because WW says "no cereal for a snack unless you count it" does not mean that I will suddenly start to gain weight, and it was the chips and sugar that made me gain 15 pounds, not eating cereal for a snack.
My big challenge is exercise. I'm feeling motivated on the food front, not so much on the exercise. Mostly because I'm tired and pressed for time (and yet here I sit at the computer!).

Hi all-
Well I went on the scale this morning (even though I very rarely weigh myself at home) and I was down a pound since my weigh in Sunday morning. I will not get a chance to do an official WW weigh in until next week but hopefully the scale will continue in a downward trend.
No exercise today. I did a 20ish minute walk yesterday which is better than nothing I guess. Tomorrow night my DS and DH are out so I'm going to go to a 6 p.m. spin class.
Challenge for today - birthday dinner. I'm going to stick with fish or seafood and plan on a few bites of cake and a glass of wine.
Have a great day everyone!
-Beth

Thanks for the good wishes! I did stick to my plan. I had a glass of wine, some chocolate cake (which by the way they give you a portion that could easily feed 8 people), a steamed lobster, a salad with balsamic vinegar (had shrimp, egg, avocado, green beans, tomato - it was yummy) and some seared ahi tuna for an appetizer. It was delish.
Today I tried to replicate some amazing oatmeal I had in Atlanta with a raspberry compote. Of course that one was made with butter and cream and real sugar! Mine was pretty good though. I'm going to spin class tonight and meeting my cousin for Chinese food afterwards where I will have steamed shrimp and brocoli and egg drop soup.
Hope everyone has a great day!
-Beth

Great job, Beth! Sounds like a really wonderful dinner.
I'm plugging along, feeling strong. Exercise is not happening and I know if I really want to lose (and keep off) this weight I'm going to need to find a way to fit it in. Deep down I know that going to the gym at 5 am is probably the only way. *sigh*

I am with you there on exercise, Coco. I need it badly. I did manage to lose the 1.8 I gained last week, don't know how but I'm glad. And I have some Core meals prepared for the coming week. But I know I will feel (and look) a lot better with regular exercise.

That's it exactly, Cathy! I know I can lose the weight with minimal exercise, but I won't feel and look toned and healthy, and I won't have the same energy. Plus it will be harder to maintain if I don't establish a plan for exercise.
And yet, I slept in a little this morning . . . no gym . . .
I WILL walk the dog and/or lift weights at the gym late this afternoon.

I hope all you challengers are having a wonderful weekend. The sun has broken out here, which is nice. I am having a very off-program day due to a lunch and dinner that is being provided to me, but I'm not going to worry about it -- just use it as an opportunity to practice moderation (except for the mojitos which will surely be provided at a pirate-themed party I am attending tonight!) Tomorrow, it's back to basics.

No one's been here all week, where are we all?? It's almost another weekend! I gained 3.2 last night "and I don't know how...." I've said that a few times in the 3 years I've been on WW and I've always meant it! Onward and downward from here...

I went to an early morning meeting today and was down 1 pound, so now I am 4 pounds over goal and not 5! I'm happy the scale is moving in the right direction and considering last week was my birthday and now it is TOM I won't complain. This weekend we have family here from out of town and it is my son's 6th birthday so there will be lots going on.
Hpoe everyone is doing well. Cathy - don't worry about that gain, I'm sure you'll get it off by next week. Coco - glad you enjoyed your party!

My weight fluctuates dramatically from day to day; that's why I benefit from weighing myself every morning. It lets me see the fluctuations as normal for me, and at the same time I can see a general (gradual) downward trend. A couple of days after my big Saturday splurge, I was at my second highest weight so far of this new year. But today, I hit a new low for the year.
My big challenge is that I hurt my knee yesterday so exercising will be hard for the next week or two. In fact, nonexistent, since I really don't see going to the gym, hobbling up the stairs, just to lift weights. Maybe I'll do ab work at home and borrow the Boy's dumbbells for some upper body and core strength training.

Congrats on the loss, Beth! Happy birthday to your son! I hope your knee feels better soon, Coco, what happened? Speaking of weights, I think I'll ad some arm exercises to my twice weekly gym excursions...I can see the flab/skin hanging off them, yuck! Oh I'll be all right with the gain... I just like whining you know... I expect to lose most of it for next Wed. WI. Have a great weekend everyone!

How did I hurt my knee? I fell down, plain and simple . . . kind of clutzy!
Even though not much real exercise, I feel in the "Core groove." Today I passed up cookies, bread, cheese, etc.; I kept busy and even though I was surrounded by food (preparing food for a church dinner) I really didn't *think* about food that much.
I think the weather helps a lot; we've been having a couple of gorgeous, sunny, warmish days here in Northern CA. It just makes you feel good!

Hey Coco! Enjoy some of that weather for me... it is -3 degrees here in Chicago this morning.
Yesterday was the birthday party, foodwise I think things went well for me. We brought in deli platters and I had some turkey on a 1 pt. wrap and we also brought in some reduced calorie tuna that is made with FF mayo. Besides the relish in there it's pretty guilt free. We had chocolate chip cookie cakes and I had a very small piece along with some fruit. So all in all not too bad. I haven't gotten to the gym since Thursday, my Dad is in town so I may just do some treadmill in my basement over the next few days.
