I did core a couple years ago, and absolutely loved it. I lost 30 lbs. But like most of us do, I fell off track and eventually gained some of it back.
I've tried a few other things here and there since, but I'm not having any luck. Here's the major problem, when I was on core last time I had more free time to prepare meals and I spent 3x's(probably more) as much on groceries as I do normally.
Money is tight, I'm saving to move at the end of the year, and we all know that mac & cheese and peanut butter & jelly sandwiches are so much cheaper. I am looking for some great money saving tips and ideas so that I can follow the core plan again and stop using this money issue as an excuse? Any ideas on how to work the core plan on a PB&J budget?
Thanks!

Hi! Welcome to Kippy's! I don't know...I don't think Core foods are that much more expensive than the processed stuff, but I don't know where you live... cooking for yourself and freezing Core meals in advance sure saves money in the long run. Your basic shopping list should include whatever fresh fruits and veggies are on sale, also ff milk, ff plain yogurt (I buy store brand), lean meats like chicken, pork and beef (if you eat these). Also some kind of fish is on sale each week at the supermarket. I also stock up on ff refried beans, tuna fish, ww pasta, brown rice, ww couscous ... also I use coupons and go to a supermarket where they triple coupon, don't know if that's an option for you. But I would certainly think twice before I picked up a box of Mac n cheese or PB&J ingredients! Calculate how much those things cost and see how many good healthy Core options you can buy with the money! You can do it! Good luck! Let us know how you're doing.
