I've been doing core for about a month and I have a quesiton about oil servings. The GHGs recommend you eat at least 2 tsp of olive (or canola) oil a day, but is that the most you should eat? I regularly use olive oil to saute veggies, or saute garlic and olive oil to eat with ww pasta, or mixed with vinegar on salads. I wanted to make sure there's not a limit to how much you should eat each day.
Thanks! Amanda

You can have as much oil as you wish, of any type EXCEPT only the first 2 teaspoons of the healthy oils are considered core and you must count points for any oils you have after that.

Poo! I've been treating olive oil like a core food - I'm not going overboard on it, but I'm not counting points either. I guess I have to start paying more attention and counting points for anything over 2 tsp.

Oil might be one of the things you "tweak" if you find that you're losing weight and pretty strict with core in other areas. I try to limit oil, but stopped measuring it by teaspoons a few weeks ago. I just put a small splash into a pan or salad once or twice a day, and try to use Pam or butter spray the rest of the time.

I dont believe in tweaking. I use the 2 tsp and if I use more I tell myself that's back to the old habit of deep frying and i MUST count the points.

Good for you, Corediva. Everyone has to do what works best for them.
