Hi, I just found this site today and am so excited! I joined WW on 7/17/2006. I am slowly losing, but have a long way to go. I have tried WW several times in the past, but I have never been so determined as I seem to be this time. I can see my self healthy and fit in my mind....now to get my body to match my mind! I started with flex, but last week switched to core as counting all of the points was driving me nuttier than I already am. Carol

Welcome, Srhoads!
As a woman of size and an advocate of women of size, let me say that I don't find it all remarkable or embarrassing to hear about you being a fitness instructor. In fact, I find it inspiring!
Think about how many of us are terrified to take fitness classes from bony bunnies who we imagine are judging and making fun of us larger types (even if they are not). What a relief and inspiration to find another fitness instructor who has some meat on her bones, so to speak!
Of course I encourage you to join core and find a healthy place for your body to be. But rethink your embarrassment! It's great that you show women of size that we can exercise, while challenging skinny people's idea of what fitness is and should be. Keep it up!

Hi all. I'm back to core. I tried it along time ago and even joined this site but did not make the most of it. I quit and guess what...I gained more weight. I started to work out with the firm and got to thinking what was I doing? I'm busting my butt to workout and ruining it with my eating habits!!! I refuse to be a slave to a point. I know core is a good program and I know it will work if I work it right. Even all this time I've not been dieting I've still lurked on this site knowing one day I'll get my nerve back up and get it in my head that this is what I need to do. I appreciate how everbody is so nice and willing to help a newbie. Well, enough rambling. Here's getting to know everybody. Terri

OK - I want to begin core in the morning - lost all of my weight on flex and now becoming a WW Leader and was suggested that I try CORE for two weeks - to get the experience and knowledge needed to help members who chose core --- so HELP! I know I can do it but sort of apprehensive -- can you give me any suggestions or helpful tips to make core a success for me?

Texarkguy, welcome to Kippy's. Congratulations on your success and on becoming a leader. Just the fact that you are willing to experience Core will make you a better leader. Obviously, all of us here feel that Core is the best thing WW ever developed. It is hard to switch from always thinking about point value to Core or not core, but just reading the Getting Started book and becoming familiar with the Core foods is a big step. Read everything you can here. Check out the recipes especially, too many people feel that Core is limiting, but just the opposite is true, it is very freeing, and reading through the recipe section will help with that. Also don't be shy about asking questions here, many of us have lived Core for quite some time and it is all second nature to us. I have lost 80lbs, and have maintained that loss for just over a year... all Core. I'm looking forward to hearing your response to Core and secretely hope that you will be a complete convert and sing the praises of Core often at your meetings. lol Good luck and take care Katie

Newbie to this group and happy to find a site where I can learn more about Core. I have been on Flex for almost a year and reached goal last week. I'd like to switch to Core now, so I think I have found the right place. Thanks!

I'm so glad that I found this site! It has been so helpful for me. I have just started core this week and am very excited. I've got a question about a core breakfast food that is portable and does not need to be heated. I usually go to the gym before work and eat my breakfast in the car on the way to work. I need something that will "stick to my ribs". I like eggs, but need other ideas. I'm looking through the recipe archives as well. Thanks so much for your ideas.

Hi, I'm new to this site. I have done WW many different times but I think this is it this time. I have been doing points but would like to try Core to see if it works for me. I know that points work, but I hear good things about Core, so I'll probably be hanging around trying to learn as much as I can.
