I just gotta share, because I achieved something amazing this weekend. I rode in the MS150 cycling event in New Bern, NC. We pledged to raise $1 million to benefit multiple sclerosis. I trained for months, and raised $1500. Well, I DID IT!! In 35 mile-an-hour wind gusts from Hurricane Ophelia, I rode 75 miles on Saturday, and 75 on Sunday. (I actually felt like I was going to be blown off the road a number of times. Talk about feeling like a featherweight, instead of a 192 pounder!!) Today I'm one tired girl, but I'm happy. I was totally sedentary for the first 43 years of my life, and a year ago was tooling around on my hybrid, earning 2 APs at a time for a 1/2 hour ride. Now I understand what it feels like to band together with other people on an athletic team, especially for a great cause. There were 1000 riders - some with MS, some in their 70s or in their teens, some overweight, and some on specially adapted bikes or ancient mountain bikes. We all pulled one another to the finish line. This has been an incredible personal journey for me. For the rest of my life, so long as I can ride, I'll be out there with these folks. And of course I could not have done it without WW, and without the support of tons of people. Whew!!!! Now all I have to do is calculate the APs for 10 1/2 hours of cycling at 14.5 miles an hour....

WOW!! That is absolutely fantastic. Supporting two great causes at the same time, MS and yourself. What an amazing transformation from sedentary to active. Sounds like you earned a week or two's AP's? I'm at the tooling around point myself, you are an inspiration. Thanks!

Way to go Wonder Woman!! I am proud to know that NC was well represented....It's my home, my first one anyway Just doing it was quite rewarding I am sure, but now you need to give yourself another reward of some kind...not that you like to shop or anything....LOL Congrats again........ Jane
