OK..... the smileys from the smiley generator and clicksmilies.com are all set to go, just read the FAQ on that site or use the address and code provided for the saved smilie after you make one in the generator. Now let's say you find a picture just anywhere on the net that you want to use. For example, you want to post a picture of your favorite actor ;D 1. find a webpage with a photo you like. I found one I like at www.readthewest.com/guestlog3Q.htm2. Ah, yes, there is a nice picture of "my Tommy" ;D 3. I LEFT CLICK on him and a menu comes up. On that menu I choose SAVE PICTURE AS. 4. Then a small window pops up, it has the file name and file type, all I do is click SAVE. 5. Now Tom is in my computer. I mean, his photo has been saved to my computer. (please excuse me, I'm getting a little bit excited here! ) 6. Now I go to imagevenue.com, my favorite place to host pics for the board. 7. There I hit the BROWSE button. This opens the MY PICTURES file on my computer. There I see my Tommy's picture that I just downloaded. Isn't he magnificent? 8. I click on his photo and his file name comes up. I may have to click on the correct file type, in this case .jpg. Then I click OPEN 9. There's the file now, in the BROWSE box on imagevenue.com 10. Now I click on the HOST IT button. 11. Now I just copy and paste the FORUM OR MESSAGE BOARD URL. It looks like this (but without spaces): [ img ]http://img2.imagevenue.com/loc181/742__TomSelleck200.jpg [ /img ] if I take out the spaces I will see my Tommy!!!!!!!! I wuv him Now the only problem may be that your version of Windows is older than mine and it may be harder to find your file after you have downloaded it. I have forgotten how to use the older version of windows for downloading, I never used it much for that back then, sorry! I hope you can figure this out, just keep experimenting. If I can do it, ANYONE can! in order to get your picture to appear under your name, in the space to the left, don't use anything except the address, no need for [ img ] or [ /img ]. Just the plain address. In your profile, go to the personal picture section, choose "blank" on the list and check the "I have my own pic" box. Then just copy and paste your plain address into that box.
You must choose a small pic, no bigger than 100x100 pixels. To find the size of your picture, right click it. Choose "properties" and you should see the size listed.
