I have only been using it for a couple of months, but www.photobucket.comseems like a good free site. I've found it to be fine so far, anyway. Here's what they say: Photobucket.com provides free image hosting for Ebay, live journals, blogs, message boards, and online photo albums. Photobucket is reliable, fast and very simple to use.

LOL! Hi Pookie, I hear you about the Dals. We have two of 'em and they only have one brain cell to share between them but we love the big goofs anyway.

Can you please give me a little more information on the hows and whats etc for these sites. I'm interested in putting an animated something below my user name. Do I have to get something from one of these sites to do so? Can clip art from my pc be used, or possibly a pic from Webshots? If so, how? I found the area on my profile, but not sure what to type in the box after I have my own pic.

once you find your clipart/animation, download it to your computer. It shouldn't be more than 100x100 pixels.
Then go to imagevenue.com and upload it.
You will be given 3 addresses, choose the one for message boards. In your Personalized Picture box you will not need the tags so remove the [ img ] and the [ /img ] from the address and put it in the picture box.
Be sure to check off "I have my own picture" and choose "blank" ffrom the drop down box.
Depending on the dimensions of your art, change the numbers in the height and width boxes. (To find the correct measurements, right click the image and choose Properties.)
Click "change profile" and you should have it!
