Well, after an aborted start yesterday (had to leave earlier than expected in the morning and couldn't get my workout in) I treated myself to a long one today. I did 30 minutes on the elliptical -- love that gluteal workout -- then 45 minutes doing Nautilus weights, the whole circuit. Then my favorite part, the 15 minutes of stretching. I don't cheat myself on the stretching and I think it does wonders for my body -- I am almost NEVER sore the next day, no matter how hard I work out!

Sherri, welcome to WW, Core and this challenge! It's totally up to you when you start the challenge. You're welcome anytime you want to begin. I think my personal inclination would be to start now. You never know when you'll be able to sneak in a quick walk, or do some other activity, and you might as well count it. I think my point is that it doesn't have to look like a formal big ole workout to count. A quick 5 minute jaunt around the block because you're feeling peppy can count -- both for your metabolism, your attitude and the challenge. And starting right where you are gives you the chance to look for little moments when you can sneak in some activity (walk in place in front of the tv during commercials, lift some light weights while watching your favorite show, etc.). It really is motivating to see the points start to accumulate. But it's up to you -- there's no right answer, just what will feel good to you. ![;)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/wink.png) Way to go, Rachel! Love those Leslie Sansone walks! And Xena, that's a GREAT point total for 2 days! Good job, Kristin! Isn't it just the best feeling to finish a workout and have all those nice endorphins working for you? Welcome, Harleylite! Glad you're with us. I got in that upper body and abs workout late last night, and got up this morning to go to spin class. I might just take the dog for a long walk today, too. It's rained hard here for a couple of days, so she's restless. While the sun is shining, we could both use the walk. Hope everyone has a great active day!

I'm in. I have earned my Active Lifestyle Award and am working on the bronze award. I earned 377 points yesterday. I don't have a good sense of what goal to set. So I am going to take it day by day this month.
Thanks HipMom.

NRA, you could set the goal to earn points on 20 days or 25 days this month or something like that. Then, after this month, you'll have an idea of what you're typically doing per month. You can decide from there whether you want to challenge yourself to increase your points, etc.
Anyway, congrats on stepping up to the next level and earning those first points! Have fun with it.

Good idea Hippo, about setting a goal of earning points so many days per month or week, I think that's a great way to start for those who aren't aware yet of their expected point earnings. That way they can still feel as though they're working on a goal!

I've made it to the gym two days in a row. So far, so good. I love the steep-incline (50%) treadmill; it's a lower body workout as well as cardio.
Keep up the good work, everyone.

I must say...I'm finding the Presidential Challenge quite motivating. I took a screamingly fast walk before pilates because I had 10 minutes to spare. Ditto walking the dogs after i got home. I WANT to keep adding points (kind of a fun/ironic turn of events vis a vis wpa, eh?) so I find little pockets of time to do so. So on a day when I feared not having time to exercise at all I earned almost 400 points. Gotta love it! Keep up the great work, everyone. and HipMom (i love that name, that someone else coined!) thanks for being the uber motivator!

I'm just doing yes/no by the day, because I don't have any concept of points yet. But I have two days in a row (two little red sections in my first star).
Just walking my dog in the morning and doing the mini stepper at night, but it's a start. 444 points total, so far.

I just joined the Challenge. I've never done something like this before :-) I do swimming or aquasize everyday. Can't let those points go to waste.

Hey everyone! I am excited to join your challenge. I try to workout everyday, but sometimes I dont quite make it. I am setting my goal at 12,000. I LOVE lifting weights. I rotate the elliptical trainer, ike, and treadmill. I will be lifting 4x a week, and cardio every day. I also just started core a few days ago. It is going great so far. I hope everyone does great on their goals, good luck!!
