I just purchased this 'game' (DH says it really isn't a game!). Check out the link it looks pretty neat, your own personal trainer. Has anyone else tried it? of course i had to get permission from my DH to use his game system:) I will let yall know what i think! www.yourselffitness.com/default.aspxJ

I looked at the website, but I still don't understand what the "game" is. Can you tell me more?
My friend's son has a Playstation game where you have to touch certain "spots" shown on the screen (you move your body around; you don't really touch the screen). A camera shows you where you are, and where you need to move your arms and legs. It actually can give you quite a workout! Can't remember what it's called, though . . .

it really isn't a game, but i kept calling it that since it went with the xbox. well i got it on saturday and i am yet to try it! but...it is suppose to be like having your own personal trainer. she will do aerobics with your choice of music and length of time. and she will call it just like you are in an aerobics class. and she will do strength training, stretching, etc. all with different music, different locations, and it is suppose to be different everytime. I bough it to do on the weekends i teach 4 aerobics class during the week (m-th) and then slack off from friday till monday night, thought if i could do it at least once during the weekend that would be a good start:) the goal is this weekend! i will keep you posted!

I also purchased the Yourselffitness program, but for my pc. When it's too cold to be outside I turn Maya on for a personalized workout that changes each time. I get really bored doing videos I've done before, and so I love the change and the challenge. Definately worth the purchase.

I checked out the website when you first posted this- and looked at it again today. Just ordered it from Amazon, since I had some other things in my shopping cart there. The reviews on Amazon were all very favorable.
Will let you know how it goes!

Well, the first delivery got lost, so I had to re-request, but it finally arrived and I really like it. It's like having a personal trainer in my laptop! Just finished my fourth workout. Here are some of the things I like about it: - Every workout is different. There are over 500 exercises, and each day (so far) there's been a different focus (like weight loss, upper bod, lower bod, core)
- The workouts are tailored to your needs and abilities. Maya also checks in with you during the session to make sure the intensity is appropriate. If you click on "I couldn't keep up" the next workout will be easier. Likewise if you don't break a sweat she'll make it harder
- You can use equipment like handweights or stability balls if you have them- I'm looking for a "step" to add to my arsenal
- You make a committment for each day of the week- how much time you're going to work out- if you skip a day you'd committed to, she tells you she missed you!
I got the PC version- run it from my laptop. There's also an X-box version and the Playstation version comes out next month I believe. Check it out! Those of you who've been coming to this board for a while may know that I've really struggled with getting in regular exercise. This was just the motivation I needed!

I just got my kids one of these for Christmas for their Playstation 2. It's called Dance Dance Dance Revolution. I haven't tried it yet but just watching them makes me tired! It even has a "workout" mode where you work on keeping your heart rate up...... I'll have to get brave and give it a try!!

I've used Personal Fitness for the past week and love it!!! It's wonderful. I try to do my exercising in the morning, but if I've had a bad day at work I come home and pop Maya in and do 1/2 hour of flexibility.
I made it to bronze status so far and have "unlocked" more music and another scene to exercise to. My DH has been wonderful about it and might actually submit a profile for himself. Tomorrow I take my personal challenge so that should be interesting.
Becareful with your x-box, some of the power cords have overheated and caused fires. Go to xbox.com and put in your serial number and manufacturer date. If you need a new cord they will send it to you. I believe if they were made after 2003 they are ok, but I'm not sure of the month so it's best if you check it out.
I hope you enjoy the program as much as I do.

I have yourself fitness too and love it. I do a lot of other workouts too but i love the fact every time I use Maya you get a different workout. I did a flexibility workout today and ti was a mixture of pilates and yoga.
It is great as well because you do a fitness test when you first start and then periodically they test you again. My first check up is the workout after next!!

I'm traveling this week, and took Maya with me on my laptop! Luckily, I got through my fitness assessment and a cardio workout with no complaints from the people in the room below. ;D
Making a committment to workout on specific days has really helped me stick to the program.
