I see occasional posts about clothing and fashion. I'm keenly interested in this topic, because overhauling my image has been so important in bolstering my self-confidence. That, in turn, has helped me stay OP and exchange my unhealthy habits for healthy ones.
Are there enough people interested in this topic to consider adding a special forum? I would be delighted to moderate or co-moderate. Some ideas off the top of my head:
Ideas for flattering a larger or plus-sized figure Solving/camouflaging figure problems Playing up your best feature Buying the correct size bra Sources for various types of clothing - exercise gear, event wear.... Tips for managing a wardrobe while losing weight, especially money-saving ideas Clothing as a confidence-builder Good causes that will benefit from too-big clothing donation

I'll be offering my LET GO OF THE BLACK therapy sessions if there are enough offenders who really want to change.
My last success story (former daily Dr. Marten shoe wearer) now declares that her favorite shoes are a pair of pink & orange Stuart Weitzman satin flats.
P.S. Some people DO look great in black...but 75% of us don't, including me. Changed my life when I let go of the black!

I am so tired of wearing black. I'm looking forward to spring.

Buy a new raincoat for spring, in one of the hot pastels! Today I felt like spring had sprung, despite the crummy cold Easter weather. (Mine's coral.)

Good idea... I could also use some tips about online shopping... or how not to hate trying on plus-sized clothes

Kathy, any luck starting a new forum? Sounds like fun! I found this on a coldwater creek page... tip: choose v-neck tops for a verticla, lengthening line, or add a bright pin as a focal point tip: wear jacket and blouses that reach below the hips. Silk with stretch shells and shirts in the same color. tip: pants with a flat front, no pleats tip: wear wide-leg or boot-cut pants for a narrower look tip: darker colors create a long lean look (doesn't say black)
I have found as I loose weight and drop a size, I am better off giving away clothes away so I can't regress. For many years I had a closet of clothes that were my fat, moderate and skinny outfits.

Hi Mary...no, haven't started anything yet. I remember that Kippy was going to help, but had a busy period.
Those guidelines are pretty close to a lot of rules I have for myself! Got ivory slacks on today, tho ;-).

Hope we can get this fashion idea going, I'd like to also focus on something other than food all of the time
