Start 209 Day 7 ~
Well, its been awhile. I am making a new journal for a new start. Today is my 3rd day back on core and i'm finally feeling like i have a little bit of control again. There for awhile i was having some thyroid problems and it made it very difficult to focus on my diet. I was hungry all the time even after eating a full plate of food. It was strange...but my thyroid has seemed to stabilize and even though i gained a ton of weight back i'm on the wagon again..
Breakfast: strawberry, banana and skim milk smoothie Lunch: taco casserole bake thing. 2 pts Snack: peach and some popcorn
1 mini white donut. Why why couldnt i resist. 50 calories for that one second of gratification. lol I'll be glad when they are out of the house. I've already instructed my husband to not bring any of that stuff in. He doesnt need it and really the kids dont either. they love fruit.
Dinner: Grilled chicken corn artichokes the heart was delish..ok, and some butter with this..i know i know yellow squash cooked in 2 tsp oil this was really good too. Why wasnt i eating this stuff before? oh yeah. i'm lazy. lol
snack: probably some ff plain yogurt with half a peach mixed in. I made the kids some raisin toast this morning...ugh it was so hard not to drown some in butter. But i'm really proud of myself for resisting.

Sounds like you're on the right track! Good job on the raisin toast - maybe you can try and come up with your own version. Have a great weekend! -Beth

Thanks beth, I allowed myself on core before...counting the points of course. Its one of my favorite things. well, bread in general. But i'm trying to get the cravings to stop and get used to doing core again.

Hey welcome back GJ!! How old are your kids now? Old enough to eat raisin toast, I gathered that!! Boy does time fly. I am a bread lover too, and sometimes need to satisfy that craving. My favorite raisin toast treat is Ezekiel sprouted grain cinnamon raisin bread toasted with mashed kiwi or banana on top. It hits the spot and is only a couple of points for two slices. Yum. Yesterday a coworker brought in some almond-rice bread and toasted it. OMG, it was dense and delicious. I only had a bite, but I want to find out where she got it and have it as a treat for points. There are such healthy bread products out there, and if I can manage to practice moderation (!) I can enjoy them.

Thanks...Mightycore my son is now 15 months and my daughter will be 4 in August! Time surely does fly! I'm still chugging along. I used 6 points today on 2 garlic breadsticks with my ww spaghetti with ground turket. My husband said first off its whole wheat...and then its not even ground beef?!?! You gave me ground turkey. lol guess he wanted one change at a time. ha ha. I tol dhim to suck it up and get used to it.

well here it is 5 months later and im at the exact same spot. 209. I guess i could of gained a lot. Its very frustrating and I feel out of control. I did well today overall. I made a whole wheat tortilla wrap today filled with scrambled eggs and fresh mushrooms. It was really good.
I did make an almost 600 calorie mistake though! I will live and learn. I was studying with a friend and got a strawberries and cream drink from starbucks. I figured it was probably just strawberries and milk. Well, i got home and looked it up to discover CREAM. i should of realized that from the name of it. ugh. So dinner was pretty light. I am drinking some hot tea to distract me since its almost bedtime.
