Hi and thank you for the welcome. You know, I think that I will take your suggestion and start doing that! I used to not, simply because I wanted to eat the banana as a snack, but I never seem to get around to it! So...tomorrow...a banana with my cereal! Thanks! Oh, and I AM feeling better. Much! Thanks!!

Hello! I had a fancy lunch out today, with work, so I just tried to pick the best choices I could. Also, I was in a rush to get out the door this morning, so had to grab a banana and hit the road. Luckily, lunch was early. B - banana L - Grilled salmon with rice (pts), small piece of asparagus, broccoli rabe and 1/2 small tomato, all grilled, Salad of baby greens and house dressing (all they serve - pts.), one bite of creme brulee (it belonged to the person sitting next to me, and oh my!) S - some grape tomatoes D - WW recipe - Spanish Rice with Chicken - it had lots of peppers, onions and tomatoes. It was pretty good. S - Peaches No dairy at all today! Yikes!! Still, all in all, I could have ordered a burger or something, so I am happy with my day.

Hi Catherine!
Welcome to Kippy's. You are making great choices, even when it's not possible to stay all Core. It's all about being more mindful, isn't it?

Thanks for your comments, Coco. You are so right, it IS all about being more mindful. Thanks for reminding me of that! Does anyone else have to force themselves to eat in the morning? I really don't ever feel like eating breakfast until about 10:00, but especially cereal. For some reason, it is hard for me to stomach the idea of cereal early in the morning!! Anyway, I am forcing myself to eat, but hopefully it will become habit soon and I won't have to think as much about it. B - Shredded Wheat with ff milk and Splenda L - "Salad Bar" at my son's preschool. The parents are throwing a baby shower for one of the moms, so we are all bringing salad toppings. I will throw some ff dressing in my purse and I will be able to eat well, with no worries. Yay! I didn't even plan the salad theme - it just worked out well for me! D - Dinner out with DH tonight. Not sure where yet, but I am sure it will be fun, wherever. A few hours kid-free will be a welcome break to a hectic, tantrum-filled week! Have a wonderful weekend, everyone!!

I do I do! But I'm getting better about it--especially when I don't eat too late the night before. Sometimes I'll just have an apple and wait a couple of hours.

I may have missed something, but if you really don't like eating cereal in the morning, why don't you have something else?

Glad to hear that I am not alone! Penny - I don't think that I worded that very well earlier. Cereal is particularly difficult for me to eat, but really, almost everything is at that time. Cereal is just what I usually eat, so that is what is difficult for me. I think that even if I decided to eat eggs or leftovers, I would feel the same way. It just seems to take my stomach a while to feel like having food in it! I think that I will just start eating a piece of fruit and not worrying too much about it. Eventually I will get hungry and can eat more a little later in the morning.

Busy day! Finally getting around to posting. Last night Dh and I ended up at Applebees. We shared a WW quesadilla as an appetizer, I had tilapia, with broccoli and rice (pts for rice) and we splurged and had a WW dessert. It was a nice meal, although nothing really special. I think that I was just happy to be out eating, kid free!! Love the kids to pieces, but a little away time was nice. We then went to a neighborhood theater performance of a Agatha Christie murder mystery. Unfortunately, dh had a very long day at work, so we ended up leaving at intermisison. He was snoozing in his seat! Breakfast - fried egg, canadian bacon and 1 pt. parmesan cheese sandwiches (also pts for diet bread) Lunch - Chicken pitas with black beans, grilled onions and corn. (Points for pita) Dinner- We call it "Taco Rice". Brown rice in a bowl, topped with ground turkey taco mixture ( ground turkey cooked with taco spices, pinto beans, corn and olives, all of which add flavor and also stretch out the ground turkey to feed more!) and then topped with tomatoes, green onions, avocado, ff cheese, fat free sour cream and salsa. It is wonderful, fast and easy! No fruits today and no dairy, other than the sour cream and Parmesan cheese. Arrgh!! I will have to do better tomorrow.

OK, now that I am caught up with yesterday, here is today: Breakfast - shredded wheat with banana, ff milk and splenda Lunch - spicy pinto beans, 2 small slices leftover pork tenderloin, carrots Snack - corn on the cob Dinner - WW spaghetti with ground turkey and lots of veggies in the sauce Snack - peaches I am really not in the mood to cook dinner today. I work from home and have sooo much work this week. The ONLY downfall to Core, for me, is that most everything needs to be prepared. It is so much easier to just grab some fast food crap when you are rushed and tired!! However, I will NOT do that. I just have to dig in and acknowledge that even though I am tired and don't feel like cooking, it is the best thing for me and for my body. I think that this weekend I will make a few things to freeze, just for circumstances like this!

Catherine, check through the recipes when you get a chance there are so many great quick ideas there. Also prepare some meals ahead to have in the freezer for a quick warm up. Just a silly question. Is it really quicker to drive to a fast food place than it is to whip up a quick meal, like canned soup and some fruit? I've learned that my perception of quick has changed through this journey. Take care and have a great day. Katie
