I'm hoping that this will help me to regain some focus.
Background: I started WW in September 2003 to get into my wedding dress. I LOVED it...Flexed until I lost 30 pounds, and then bottomed out for a while. Core came along, help me shake things up again. I lost another 10 pounds...and hit that plateau again. I got bored...bored with meetings, bored with weight loss. I got comfortable...decent size of jeans, able to not only touch my toes, but grab the ball of my foot, able to run a marathon....
I'm not comfortable anymore. I've gained back about 5 pounds, which isn't bad, but it's 11 pounds away from my goal instead of 6...bad double digits!
I'm working on regaining focus, to get these last 11 pounds eliminated. I've realized that I haven't banished all my old habits, that without serious thought and making this a priority, I can (mostly) maintain, but having that much space between me and my scale goal is not what I want.
I am going to try to use this journal to help out with my re-focusing.
Here are some of my initial reasons why I want to get to goal:
1. I want to be at a healthy BMI, not just close!
2. I want to run another marathon...but faster this time. Getting rid of the last 11 pounds will help with that.
3. I want to be a healthy momma when the time comes (nope, not pregnant yet) and not have baby weight PLUS 11 pounds to lose.
4. I want to keep my blood pressure low and my heart healthy
5. I want to be a good role model for my husband, who needs to be more aware of his own health. I've given up on talking to him about it, and I'm hoping that he will see the benefits of it in my actions and the effects, and respond to that more positively
6. I want to get out of my (now) skinny jeans...and into skinnier jeans!
7. I want to see more definition in my abs, back, legs, and arms through reducing body fat and increasing muscle mass.
8. I want to look at the scale and know that I finally made it, and that a new part of my weight loss life can begin....living with a new body, maintaining it and being happy in my own skin.
I know that the more elaboration I can give to my goal, the more successful I can be...so here it is. Hopefully it will continue to grow as I shrink!
