Hey everyone - I thought a thread with some ideas for how to jazz up canned soup would be great. I like most soups, but they get boring after a while, and most can benefit from some jazzin'! LOL
This is what I did today. I took a can of Campbell's vegetable soup (it was either Kitchen Classics vegetable or Select Country vegetable, I can't remember which but it was NOT condensed) and added:
-baby spinach -sliced mushrooms -chopped chicken (leftover from dinner the night before) -FF chicken broth
Stirred and heated in the micro. It was a HUGE improvement!
Any other ideas for other types of soup, and good add-ins?

I haven't tried it yet, but I read somewhere that several people like popcorn in their tomato soup. I don't really care for tomato soup, but may try it with popcorn one of these days.

Mmmm popcorn and tomato soup is the best. But make sure you float just a few pieces on top and eat them right away. If you stir in a whole bunch at once it gets soggy and not-so-tasty.

Thanks for this tip!! I love tomato soup with crackers but I don't like using my points for the crackers!! I'll give the popcorn a try

I have added leftover grains (ex. bulgur or barley) to my canned soup. This always makes them very filling. Grains have become my new favorite food. I find that they satisfy my hunger , stay with me longer, and give me great energy.

To lentil soup I add: baby spinach, FF feta cheese and a quick squirt of lemon juice.

Diced water chestnuts add a nice 'crunch' especially to tomato soup.
