Remember the TV show Laverne & Shirley? They were famous for drinking milk and Pepsi. Well, I had some milk and I had some Pepsi. Trust me, it doesn't work with SKIM milk and DIET Pepsi

Well, Pookie, even with whole milk and regular pepsi, it doesn't sound too good. I'm known for trying anything and everything, but I never could quite bring myself to try that combo (and i've considered it many times). Glad ot know that my instincts were right without having to check it out for myself, so thanks for sharing.

That always sounded so gross to me! Guess it's not that much different than ice cream soda.

I have to tell ya, when I was doing Atkins one of my favorite treats was Diet Dr. Pepper with heavy cream. It is to die for, however a thing of the past 'cause now I'm a Corebee and wouldn't think of anything so unhealthy.

I have to tell ya I disagree. Sorry, but a fave of mine is diet A&W with about 1/2 cup skim milk. Tastes almost like a rootbeer float. ;D

In one of my previous job incarnations (and yes, I've had a few), I was the manager at a Dairy Queen. Let's just say I've added some really strange stuff to sodas at the request of customers. Milk was common, as was strawberries, pineapples, and of course the vanilla, cherry, and the chocolate flavorings. Extremely common was a vanilla, cherry, cream dr. pepper -- vanilla & cherry syrups, dash of milk (until it changed colors) and Dr. Pepper. I never tried it, but I love the cherry vanilla diet Dr. Pepper that's out right now. I'll have to add some milk to it to see what I was missing all those years ago.

None of you knows about egg creams? They might be a New York City thing, although they haven't been popular here for many, many years (I am old). Chocolate syrup, milk and seltzer. The flavor isn't all that different from Pepsi and milk.

never tried any of these ideas. Why would you? I do love creamsicles though....maybe I should be a little more brave and make some. I just bought Diet Dr.Pepper vanilla. Oh my gosh, it was good.

OH my gosh, the Diet Dr. Pepper vanilla is so yummy. I never finish a whole can, but can't stand 2liter bottles. It's my little after lunch treat.

So ... how much skim milk do you add to how much soda? and do you pour the milk into the soda or the soda into the milk? I think I'm messing it up somehow - so if someone could fill me in, I'd love to know

At DQ, we'd pour the soda first. Then add just enough milk until it changes color (about 1 Tbsp for 21 oz.). Not an exact science, but we'd just splash it in. HTH!
