With summer quickly approaching, the thought of wearing more revealing clothing doesn't scare me as it always did before. I hated leaving the security of turtlenecks and big sweatshirts for short sleeve T's and leg barring capris, and skirts.
This has made me realize I am no longer afraid of many things, so here goes my list.
I am no longer afraid to:
1. sit in a seat at the theater, because now I fit
2. order a healthy meal at a restaurant, because I don't feel that
the server is thinking "why does this lady bother"
3. ride a bike
4. see highschool classmates
5. tuck in my shirt and wear a belt
6. tell people that I joined Weight Watchers
7. Order an ice cream cone and eat it in public. (I always
thought people were thinking "boy she doens't need that)
8. let people see what groceries are in my cart
9. That I'm headed for diabetes, heart problems, or stroke,
because of my weight. It still could happen, but at least I
know I am doing something to help prevent it.
10. let my husband, children, and friends hug me, for fear their
arms wouldn't reach around me
11. tell people what size clothes I wear.
12. turn down something decadent that has been offered to me.
It won't hurt their feelings near as much as it would hurt
my body.
13. Catch my reflection in a mirror or store window
14. stand on a box, for fear that it would cave in
15. go on a hike because I would get so breathless
16. get in a boat, because of how far the boat would dip under
my weight.
17. stand next to someone either really small or really big for
fear of the compairison
18. try something new, whether it be a new vegie, clothing risk
or a new life venture
19. let my life be full and happy
20. share my list of former fears.
