Hello! I have a quick question that I am sure is on this great site somewhere but.............Can you have sandwich meats on core? If so are there certain things to look for (lean, ff etc.)? I have been on core for a week and lost 1/2 pound but I refuse to get down because I feel so much better (no bad snacking) than I had started to feel on flex. Well thanks for any help

Turkey that is actual turkey breast sliced thinly at the deli is core, but other lunch meats (turkey roll, turkey pastrami, bologna, salami, etc) are not. I will have to double check about some of the meat substitute lunch meats (by Yves and Lightlife, for example).

Hi Ema--good to meet you! I'm interested in the veggie meat answer, though I am not holding my breath. Thank you for checking it out!

The veggie luncheon meats are not core, but they are lower in points (and IMHO probably more healthy) than conventional luncheon meats. I don't love them plain, but on a sandwich (especially a 1 point whole wheat pita pocket) with some lettuce and tomato, a slice of soy cheese and some condiment/sauce, they are a fine, portable, quick, lunch which is not too pricey in terms of points. It was a mainstay for me when I carried my lunch to work on flex. They are also good cut up in a salad to make a 'chef' salad.
