I just finished my first week on the Core plan. I lost 6.4 pounds! Hooray for me!!!
There was one other lady in my meeting on Core and she left before I could talk with her. My leader couldn't answer these questions. Could someone help?
1. If something has '0' points in the Complete Food Guide, but is not checked Core, can I have it on the Core plan? I made yummy fajitas (flank steak, onion and peppers). The marinade I used fell into that category. I counted a point against my weekly points, just to be safe.
2. If WW Smoothie Mix is core, would Slim-Fast Ultra Powder (to make breakfast smoothies) be core? I can't find Slim-Fast products in any WW books.
3. Do most people doing core still journal their food?
I have really learned a lot on this site. I'm going to try the roasted chickpea recipe for an afternoon snack today. Sounds Yummy!

Welcome to the board. Congrats on the amazing loss! ;D 1. If something has '0' points in the Complete Food Guide, but is not checked Core, can I have it on the Core plan? You can have anything you want on the Core plan - some foods you count, others you don't. Zero point foods have calories. On either plan after 1 serving you would multiply the calories, fat, and fiber by the number of servings you ate and use those numbers to figure points. Mikey on the WW Core board uses M&Ms as a good example. One M&M is 0-points, but you wouldn't eat the entire bag and not count points. 2. If WW Smoothie Mix is core, would Slim-Fast Ultra Powder (to make breakfast smoothies) be core? I can't find Slim-Fast products in any WW books. Slim-Fast is a WW competitor, so their products won't be listed. I don't think they are Core because they are not a low-calorie shake, but a meal replacement. If you search here and on the WW board, you will find many Core smoothie recipes. 3. Do most people doing core still journal their food? Some people do, some don't. Most who do track foods, but not amounts. I track my food beacuse it helps me see patterns and ensure I'm eating a varied diet. There is a section here for journals. Hope that helps.

Thank you, Tina. That makes sense about multiplying servings. I'm glad I counted a point since I didn't measure. It was very strange last week NOT journaling and measuring. Last time I did WW, I ate out of measuring cups. Seriously! Talk about obsessed! The core plan, even with it's more limited choices, seems more freeing to me somehow. Hooray for not counting potato chips! Have you tried the recipe for roasted chickpeas? They are almost like peanuts! Yum!

100% Core, it's the only way to do it!!! Just my humble opinion lol I had been in WW several times before and just never really "got it" this time I was mentally ready, emotionally ready, and Core was the perfect plan for me.

Can I eat corn on the cob without using WPA or do I have to count it and what are the limitations? The same question for grits.

Are the corn & grits limited to once daily or can I eat until I'm "satisfied"?
