are gardenburgers core? meat substitute, but not listed in complete food guide. confused ???thanks.

Yes, they are Core! Meat substitutes that are *not* Core include the breaded chicken-flavored things and sausage substitutes.

Burger-style meat substitutes (patties and crumbles) are core; sausages, breaded chicken-type products, and deli slices are not (notice none of the real versions of these items are core either). Non-breaded chicken-type products (like Quorn naked cutlets) don't seem to be addressed, so I use my best judgment.

What about Morning Star Farms chick'n strips? They're not breaded...but I can see that they'd fall under deli meat replacement type stuff....
