SINCE you asked...lol. Yes - recently a single mom - my divorce was final last year. I have a 16 y/o male teen. I started my lifestyle change (diet) just over 3 years ago. Believe it or not, I find it is EASIER to diet when I don't have a nagging husband -ie "why do we HAVE to eat this?"..."why don't we ever have a junk & snack cabinet like everyone else?"
My son is VERY supportive and does not find CORE restrictive. He doesn't mind diet pop or lack of bread. He gets enough snacks and junk food at his school and friends houses.
Besides - I think that he and his friends sit around too much with their video games - so a little CORE doesn't hurt him. lol

It's true - when you don't have another person to cook for it's so much easier!
My son is 19 and I've been single since he was 5. His dad was pretty much out of the picture except maybe once a year. Plus Ryan has had special ed due to speech and language, and other learning disabilities. I haven't minded being a single parent at all - you get to make all the decisions and do things your own way. There are some things I miss of course. But that's another story!

Hi there! I've been lurking around this site for a while. I'm a single mom of a great 11 y/o girl. She is very supportive of my core efforts and has recently really surprised me with all the new things she's willing to try. She's always been a very finicky eater! I find it quite easy to plan and cook ahead and freeze in individual portions. I've enjoyed the new recipes I've tried on core and cook more now than I did before!
